OK, my original thread is now 6 pages and 70+ replies long. Time for a new one.
Am I the only one who thinks Pao's "music video" is a set up by the show? I was LMAO about the caption for "Musical Artist." The whole production looked very amateurish.
That wasn't the funniest Mo ment though. That would be our man Mohammed's 007 move with his cell phone video.
Was anyone even slightly surprised by Alex's "surprise" visit?
More of the same from PeTel, no comments.

I watched the new episodes last night. Don't have a ton of reactions yet. Maybe some other thoughts here will prompt something in me :P Something seems odd about the 18 year old with the Christian family and the 26 year old guy in Spain. On the one hand, it's refreshing to see a supportive, non-suspicious family for once. But on the other hand...I don't know. Something seems off about it all lol. And the age difference does make me cringe some. Okay, full disclosure, I was with someone 22 years older than me once, lol, but I was already in my 20s. That's weird too I'm sure. but her being 18 and him being 26 just seems kinda ehhh I don't know. Makes me raise an eyebrow. Not as creepy as a Mark from the prior season obviously but...I don't know. It's almost like, because he is still sort of young himself, why not stick to someone his own age? Instead of someone 18? A 40 yr old going for an 18 yr old, there's more of an obvious, if not skeevy, logic to it (wanting someone who is NOT his "equal" in his opinion, for whatever reason...perceived lack of "judgement" or experience from them if he has a fragile ego; or for a sense control; or bc emotionally he's still immature; it could range lol). But 26 with 18, why. I'm not even sure it's that though...it's just the whole vibe that seems odd, like with the mom and stuff too. Hmm. lol.

I am withholding opinions on 18 year old and Spanish guy. I don't think they were featured except for previews. There is another guy with a Thai fiance that wasn't featured either, but from the previews she, rather than the other Thai girl, could be the Asian Anfisa.

There were two new episodes though. They definitely showed the 18-yr-old girl... and her friend telling it was a bad idea (maybe the friend seemed a little jealous, lol) and they showed the family and their band and all that. And she was worried about the Spanish guy getting his visa, but then he did...
Guy with the Thai Anfisa didn't show up yet.
I'm watching them online on the TLC channel. Maybe the 2nd episode is only available there? It does say something like "preview"

@blacknyellowsquid It must be an online preview. The TV versions showed an hour of the new series and an hour of the Before the 90 Days.

I just had to comment on the no shirt thing. It's one thing for a guy to walk around without a shirt on. Not a big deal. But I guess it's some weird European/maybe Russian thing to walk around without a shirt on because there's an old woman in my neighborhood and twice now when I've been at the gym working out, my trainer and I will be at a piece of equipment in front of a group of windows and this woman walks the path from one end to the other outside and she's got her shirt over one arm and wearing only what is VERY CLEARLY her BRA and pants and walks right in front of the window. It is a very uncomfortable thing to see and she's like at LEAST in her late 70s if not older. Sorry, but I wouldn't want to see a woman in her thirties walking around in her bra, let alone this lady, and please don't try and claim it's no different than her wearing a bathing suit top because it IS different.
In regard to the pig, obviously he's never been to Hawaii. Don't they do a lot of pig roasts in Hawaii? Kind of standard there for those luaus. And yeah, just because it's cooked in ground, doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it.
And you're right in that most Americans have been sheltered from the realities of butchering. Even going to a butcher, the meat is already cut up with the exception of fish. Personally, I'd rather not see the head of whatever animal I'm about to eat, but if that is how it's prepared, fine. As long as you don't try to actually serve me the head, I'm fine and can eat the meat from the rest of the animal. I'm sorry, I'm just not into head cheese, or jowls (which for some reason a lot of chefs seem to have gotten into for the last few years), or tongue. And while I love Italian sausage, I'm not about to eat blood sausage. I'll pass, thanks. And if I was in a area where they were eating things that I won't/can't eat, I would try and find a way to express that I just can't eat whatever it is that they're eating, and I'd apologize and try and explain that I'm not trying to insult them or upset them.

There was not enough Paul and Karine last night. For some reason, I think they could be the next DanMo. Foreign spouse obviously looking for a ticket to America settles for American that seems tolerable only to find out how crazy they are when it is too late. Karine knows more than Mo did at this point, so she may have a plan.
Sean may have stated it perfectly when he said that Abby may not have enough life experience to understand what a successful LTR involves. I am inclined to agree. You don't stay friends with your ex boyfriends normally when you get married. Especially when she obviously still has feelings for him.
Its hard to really know what is going on with Cortney and Antonio. He says he needs his space, and I can understand that as someone who has lived alone for some time. How much did they talk about this before she arrived? How much of this story is even real is my question. I read somewhere that Cortney is a travel blogger and her thing is sleeping on people's couches.
Patrick and Myriam, meh. Next....
Larry and Jenny, I hope for his sake that it ends, but it probably won't. She clearly thinks she is too good for him. Its sad when someone settles for a relationship like this.
And then we come to the best/worst move of the night, Mr. Mixed Signals Jesse. Seriously, you go down on one knee, give a woman a diamond ring, and then tell her it is not an engagement ring? Telling her that she has grown so much, like she finally has earned his respect/love/whatever he meant. What a dickhead move. Wow. I knew there was a reason I have found him off putting from the beginning, but I seriously wished that I could have shouted at him from my living room.

Agree.
I don't see what she sees in Gary Shandling. By the way, what does LTR stand for?
I think Cortney mentioned on the show she was a blogger.
I just hate that he took money out of his retirement for this trick.
He knows so much. Doesn't he? OMG.

I'm glad Sean was able to see that.

I had to admit, I cringed when Sean was going on about how young and inexperienced she was...and I'm like, yeah, and you're still dating her like she's your soulmate? I get that his point was that her age is why she doesn't know how to handle the Chris thing. But it just shows (in an inadvertent way) how aware he is of the maturity/experience gap there is between him and her. And yet... I know age can be just a number, some young people are mature, etc. Sometimes the young one is more mature than the older one, lol. But this just showed that, look, he IS dealing with a very immature, inexperienced person. But that's still what he wants to marry? So he's fine being with someone not even remotely on the same mental/maturity/experience level as him? Oookay.... :/
Jesse, yeah total douche move. I wonder if the show producers egged him on to do that. I think I mentioned a while ago that he seems to have some kind of controlling sadistic streak to him, he likes humiliating her or whatever. This would go along with that. An "appreciation" ring? I wish she'd have thrown it in his stupid face. He's all like "I thought that would make her happy..." No you didn't, come on. You know when you kneel and give someone a fancy ring, that is how you propose! I guess he just likes messing with her.
And yeah, even though tons of people still hate Larry about the pig thing (on other forums), I'm glad he didn't get too grovelly about that. I still think she was overreacting. He was not as polite as he could have been, but it's like OKAY already, it was a misunderSTANDING. Like he said, he wishes he had understood more before going into the situation. I almost feel like she's sobbing and moping because it made her look like a fool in front of her family. Like, she was probably building it up that she found the best, most sappiest of all Americans who is her amazing ticket out and he is such a great catch for what she's looking for and is willing to do anything for her, etc. And then that happens (the pig thing), and the family is thinking ...hmm, really? Maybe he's not so great after all, lol. So she throws a tantrum. There's no way she actually loves him. I think it just made her look foolish, if anything else, so she got upset. Like dangit, I picked a rude/insensitive one and he left a bad impression on my family, now I look stupid! And the whole "Men usually cry for me, I don't cry for men." Um, okay, great? Good for you? Do you want a medal? I was glad he didn't really fall for that, either. lol

I totally agree with you about Sean. Maybe she should get more life experience before marriage. Maybe date a couple of guys in their 20's or 30's?
Jesse, I would add that not only was it a douche move, but he gets pissy with her when she understandably has questions about their status? All I can say is, the sex must be really good.
I agree with you about Jenny too. I think the drama was more about her than him. He will likely end up with a broken heart and an empty bank account if he marries her.

OK, after the latest ep, lets see if I can summarize the status of Before the 90 Days couples:
Paris: Fake relationship ends with no engagement and Patrick goes home to look for another reality TV show.
Spain: Antonio gives Cortney the kiss off.
Brazil: Big cliffhanger, probably fake, will end up engaged.
Philippines: Ditto.
Haiti: No engagement, hopefully Abby can figure out what she really wants
Amsterdam: Given previews, lots of over the top drama and tears from botox face and control freak

The fake part about Paris is that I think Miriam never had a bf. She just wasn't into Patrick and had to come up with an excuse.
Didn't he already? I mean he leaves alone for an extended amount of time, when she's only there for 3 weeks?
Desperate Karine will take whatever Paul dishes out until they touch American soil that is the status.
Guy will take whatever gf dishes out from the Philippines to the US.
Engagement. At least with this couple, they don't try to fake it.
I like Botox face, but I wish she would find someone head over heels in love with her.

So uugh, the latest 90 Day Fiance episode (not the "Before..." I can't watch that till tomorrow).
Evelyn and David are annoying me. Okay, in the preview, they show David saying to her skeptical friend, "Are you dating?" "No." "Right, because you sound like someone who isn't" (thus to invalidate all her input). Unless that was just editing for the preview, that is totally rude and makes me think he is a d-bag and that maybe he and Evelyn are suitable for each other.
Before that, Evelyn was really pissing me off at the diner. When she made that crack, "No one has the European dream." HA!! That is a joke! There many immigrants flocking to Europe all the time, for quality of life, nearly free healthcare, all those things. So she really is arrogant saying that. I'm American but living in Europe (as I've mentioned before) and there certainly are immigrants here. And then, for her to be forcing all his groomsmen to be buying $200 tuxes on top of plane tickets, and sassing him "Fun fact, the wedding is in America." Ew, blech! That'd be enough for me to be like "fun fact, hopping on the plane back to Spain now!"
But at the end of the day, kind of like the Abby/Sean thing, she IS really immature and seems kinda spoiled/used to always getting her way. So, again, why is a 26-year-old choosing to put up with that? Why not go to someone more at his own maturity level? Every time I start to cringe at how obnoxiously immature some of these people are, I am reminded that they ARE actually immature, and I have to think ...okay so why is the older one with them?
And that poor broke guy in Thailand with the dowry and awkward water buffalo. All of that is so cringe-worthy. Dude has no money. I don't think it's unreasonable to hope your spouse has SOME money! It seems presumptuous for her family to assume he's going to shower them with all this stuff, but at the same time, ........ he literally only has like $2,000 to his name? What's he going to do when they go back? Is he going to get a job?? It doesn't seem right. It is kind of like Danielle with Mohammed, she had all these money problems and prior convictions etc.
As for Nicole and Azan, just give it up already. Those two aren't compatible lol.

Haven't watched the one you saw, 90 days. I saw the BEFORE reunion.
