When I saw the colorful one, I thought it was a poster to promote Pride Month. rofl

A wink to the LGB. laughing

JG"s uncreative arse just like to steal crap from other films. He remembered all the colors WW84 used and decided to do something similar. But the fool forgot that WW is a woman. She will look good as a bouquet.

And then everybody keeps looking up in the teaser, as if that's new. Yes, we know, SM can fly. Duh! But he's not the only hero that can do that. The puny humans know heroes exist and some can fly. But let's keep showing SM taking off or flying. ZS did the exact same crap for the MOS promo.

I think they blurred the red adult diaper on purpose.

OMG, I remember the JG minions screaming they will fix the suit in post. They did not. The suit looks f*cking horrible! It still looks like a blue onesie made of thick rubber. And the red loose trunks with the fake yellow belt. OMG, I can't believe some grown men are having boners over this. Women's nipples didn't get hard when Barbie released its first trailer. laughing

You can really see how horrible the suit looks when SM is holding Ultraman. It's too thick. Why did they make David train?

The trailer better be good. rolling_eyes

Well, what do you think? I think it's f*cking laughable. Let me address a few things.

The trailer looks cheap like hell. Did JG pocketed the $300M? There's something weird about the color. I think I could see the black dye in David's hair. OMG, the awful pink beam in the window is actually part of the film. The film doesn't look like a film for theater. It looks very CGI or AI-generated. And everybody’s crappy costumes doesn't really help.

So Clark will behave like an idiot to hide his hero identity. Yawn! The hair covering a big part of his face and the glasses aren't enough? He should draw attention to himself by acting like an annoying idiot. This is the 21st century. Don't draw attention to yourself. That will make you sus.

Is nostalgia (John Williams' score) and a cute fluffy dog meant to put bums in seats? The old score has no effect on me. CR's SM was way before my time. But I think Krypto looks cute. I hate the crappy cape, though. SM's cape is beautiful, but Krypto's looks awful. It doesn't look like something made by a professional and it's a freaking CGI cape, isn’t it?

Didn't geeks say SM25 shouldn’t have any GOTG crap in it? Well, let's start with an electric guitar riff of the John Williams score. Apparently, GOTG has a lot of rock in it. Then, let's whistle like GOTG's Yondu Udonta.

Isn't this new film all about hope? How can I be hopeful when the one good hero gets his arse handed to him? I think SM falls from the sky after escaping the fight in the stadium.

Why must the puny humans always turn on SM? Not very original, JG. ZS did it in BvS. BR kind of did it in SMR with the article why the world doesn't need Superman.

What's JG's obsession with kids? SM saves a girl. That scene was cool. Kids run to SM. A boy calls out SM for help. Is this crap meant to make SM wholesome? Talking about trying too hard to make SM some sort of angel or saint. ZS tried to make him Jesus. I don't think Christians liked that.

In an interview JG said that SM dresses like a wrestler to appeal to kids or some crap like that. SM is a reporter. Sometimes he leaves his work to go help people. He’s not a party clown that needs to appeal to kids. He’s not saving kids 24/7. So why does he care so much about appealing to kids? That's f*cking creepy. Kids will like a human who can fly and do awesome things. They won’t care about their clothes. Adults may be skeptical. So SM should worry about the adults. If the adults think he's OK, they will tell their kids that too. Trying to appeal to kids while the adults don't like you, is creepy. JG's pedo arse seem to forget that kids should stay away from strangers and grown ups should leave kids alone.

That's my quick opinion of SM25's first ridiculous trailer. laughing

JG's arse worms and some other low life comicbook inbreds, wankers, simps and incells think they can control what people say. They're willing to get very aggressive too. Is that supposed to scare me? Well, while you're getting your red knickers in a twist, try to remember that I'm no ZS fan and I can swear like a sailor too. laughing

I'm entitled to my opinion just like you internet vermin are entitled to yours. The only difference is that I’m not up JG’s arse. If you can't handle what I write about your crappy SM film, don't f*cking read it. The internet isn't for wimps.

JG: [I] didn't want to have it look like a wet t-shirt" and "didn't want it to have a bunch of fake muscles in it.

When will this dumbarse fool grow some balls and a spine? Tell it as it is! You can't f*cking let go of the little success you had with GOTG, thanks to the hugely successful Marvel-verse (MCU). Your uncreative arse just had to force the GOTG costume style (jacket with lines) on SM too.

For the JG arse worms and some other good for nothing comicbook inbreds, wankers, simps and incells out there, since when is that a classic SM suit or comic accurate? SM looks like he's wearing a onesie made of thick rubber with a red granny pannies. It looks even worse when he moves. And I'm told by comicbook readers that Clark isn't a bumbling idiot in the comics either. CR decided to play Clark that way.

Also, you f*cking hypocrites, wasn't one of the big complains about ZS that he made SM too emo, hopeless and joyless? Of course an SM that can get his arse handed to him to the point that he needs a dog to help him won't be depressed. Now it's OK for SM to be emo, for puny humans to turn on him again (BvS) and for him to be completely indifferent to the awful AI-generated pink beam in the window because there are other corrupted heroes. Change the no-kill rule to let-die rule. SM isn't better than the other so-called heroes. How very hopeful and joyful for the weaklings and audiences.

So doom and gloom again. Only this time it's hidden in bright scenes with questionable CGI and weird color grading. Different director, a lot of the same. Why the f*cking reboot? This is like merry-go-round. ZS put his depressing BS in a nightmare sequence. Lo and behold, JG had to put his hopeless crap in a precognition sequence in Creature Commandos, which very few seem to watch. Great, the DCU got a copycat man-child steering the damn ship.

You senile d*cks with limbs also forgot how you kept whining like little b!tches about how ZS let SM destroy Metropolis and kill thousands, but now an awful AI-generated Kaiju in the middle of the city is fine. Each step the Kaiju takes will kill and destroy. The Kaiju's fire breath won't kill SM, but the skyscraper behind him and the puny humans in it are literally fried.

JG: Krypto really did take us home: With over 250 million views and a million social posts, Superman is officially the most viewed and the most talked about trailer in the history of both DC and Warner Bros. This is because of all of you: thank you! We’re incredibly grateful and, most of all, excited to share this movie with you in July. Happy Holidays!

Nobody in JG's camp seems to have big enough balls or firm enough tits to tell him anything. Everybody is so far up his arse that I'd be surprised if he can f*cking sit.

In the history of both DC and Warner Bros, huh? How brain death is this so-called co-CEO? Does he even know how trailer views are counted? If he knew, he wouldn't say stupid crap like that. But he likes to mimic others and repeat things.

Many big films were released before certain socials existed and/or before the socials that existed became really popular. Even MOS' first trailer (2012) came out before IG really exploded. Extremely popular hell holes like TikTok (TT) didn't exist.

  • Dec. 2022 Threads
  • Feb 2022 BlueSky (BSk)
  • Sept. 2016 TT
  • Oct. 2010 IG
  • Aug. 2009 Weibo
  • Jul. 2006 X
  • Feb. 2005 YT
  • Feb. 2004 FB

Socials started to gain traction when peeps were able to access it on their phone. iPhone since 2007 and app stores since 2008. And for those slow like JG, socials is bigger now than it was twelve, ten or maybe even one year ago.

Anyhow, I wouldn't have said anything if the man-child had just said the trailer got 250M views in 24 hours and is the trailer with the most views this year. Now I want to know how views were counted throughout history. F*ck, I want to know how the 250M was counted, because I don't trust anything that weasel says.

JG's own arse worms were bragging that the trailer got 119M views and outlets keep saying "says James Gunn" or a variant of that. So they can't confirm the 250M? Well, JG lying shouldn't be a shock anymore. OMG, he keeps insisting that SM25's budget isn't $363,845,386. So everybody should believe him and not the government document that got filed most likely under penalty of perjury.

Well, news flash: Not everybody is desperate to be friends with a pedo so he’ll cast them, keep re-casting them or reply to them on socials.

The Wrap; ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Trailer Sets Viewership Records for Paramount With 494 Million Global Views

A mediocre film that had a cool trailer. That trailer was way better than the SM25 trailer. Alas, those 494M views in the first week and 238M in the first 24 hours didn't make the film a BO success and its PB was just $195M. SM25 still has a PB over $300M after the tax cuts.

$157,341,749 Domestic
$281,900,000 International
$439,241,749 Worldwide

Minion: Is the “tax document” that keeps getting shared faked? I’ve had doubts about that considering most “big budget” movies really cap out around 250m or so, but even that is a huge number. I was thinking Superman budget was likely more around 150?

JG: I don’t know if it’s faked or if it’s just some weird form an assistant in the Cleveland office filled out putting random stuff in the blanks. I sent it to our accountants and financial producers when it first came out a year ago and no one knew what it was. I can just tell you it wasn’t anyone on our team!

So an assistant decided to change what's on some weird form that's subject to public records information disclosure pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 149.43. Well, JG should put his money where his mouth is. Since the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Application form is available to the public, JG won't be revealing any corporate secret if he post a copy of the application form that he, his accountant or financial producers submitted.

And just to show that I'm not a demon from the bowels of hell that likes to bully some helpless 58 yo filmmaker, I'll say that maybe JG's accountant and financial producers really never saw the application form in PDF or A4 form. That’s the form that you can save or print. It might look different when you're filling it online. And you can only fill it online. Read the text that I copy from the Ohio Government site. I also added two articles from two Ohio outlets that got the application form.

Cincinnati Enquirer

New 'Superman: Legacy' details emerge. When Ohio filming is expected to start

Feb. 22, 2024

"Superman: Legacy" has plans to film in two Ohio cities this year.

A film called "Genesis" was awarded over $11 million in tax credits from Ohio to film in Cincinnati and Cleveland, according to a press release. S&K Pictures, Inc., which shares an address with Warner Bros., and Lex Pascual, vice president of production incentives at Warner Bros. Discovery, applied for the tax credit in November.

DC Comics fans and film buffs theorized that "Genesis" was a working title for director James Gunn's forthcoming movie "Superman: Legacy."

The Enquirer received the "Genesis" tax credit application from the Ohio Department of Development and can confirm it has the same director, producer and starring cast as "Superman: Legacy."

These cast members are listed on the application:

  • David Corenswet, who will star as Superman/Clark Kent in "Superman: Legacy," according to IMDb.
  • Rachel Brosnahan.
  • Isabela Merced.
  • Nathan Fillion.
  • Anthony Carrigan.
  • Maria Gabriela de Faria.
  • Edi Gathegi.

David Corenswet will star as Superman in "Superman: Legacy," slated for release in July 2025.

According to the application, production for the movie is expected to start in Ohio on April 1 and last until Aug. 23. The first pre-production date was Feb. 5. Thirty-seven of those days are expected to be spent shooting the film.

Not all filming will take place in Ohio, as 25% of production is expected to occur in the Buckeye State.

The application does not specify when nor where filming will take place in either Cleveland or Cincinnati. Both cities have connections to the crime-fighting superhero.

"Superman: Legacy," the first in the new DC Universe, is expected to release in July 2025, according to ScreenRant.

Superman was created in Cleveland

Writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster created Superman in 1933 while attending Glenville High School in Cleveland, according to the Encyclopedia of Cleveland History at Case Western Reserve University.

Cincinnati's Union Terminal inspired the Hall of Justice

A Cincinnati landmark has already played the backdrop to Superman fandom.

Union Terminal was the inspiration behind the Hall of Justice, the hero headquarters of the Justice League. The close resemblance debuted in the "Super Friends" animated series, as Cincinnati-based Taft Broadcasting owned the show's production company, Hanna-Barbera.

Columbus Business First

‘Superman: Legacy’ expected to hire more than 3,000 Ohioans during filming

Feb 25, 2024

When the crew filming Superman: Legacy comes to Ohio, it will bring thousands of jobs and millions of dollars of economic impact, according to the production’s application for state tax credits.

The film, which applied for Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credits under the project code name “Genesis,” is expected to receive more than $11 million in tax credits. Superman: Legacy projects it will hire 3,254 Ohio residents, according to the application. The film’s total eligible production expenditures for the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit were nearly $37 million, or a little more than 10% of the film’s total budget of more than $363.8 million.

Contacts listed on the tax credit application did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Cincinnati Business Courier, a Columbus Business First sister publication.

An Ohio production office was marked as "to be determined" on the tax credit application, though the office is expected to be operational April 1. The first preproduction date in Ohio was Feb. 5 and the last production date in Ohio is expected to be Aug. 23, according to the application.

That makes for a total of 201 production days in Ohio, with 133 for prep, 37 for shoot and 31 for wrap. According to the application, 25% of the comic book blockbuster will be shot in the Buckeye State.

The Courier confirmed Cincinnati and Cleveland would be filming sites for the movie, although details of what will be filmed in the cities were not immediately available. The Internet Movie Database has a plot synopsis that states the movie will follow Superman as he reconciles his heritage with his human upbringing, "in a world that views kindness as old-fashioned."

According to the Cincinnati Museum Center, Union Terminal became the model for the home of the Justice League in the cartoon Super Friends in the 1970s. Artist Al Gmuer drew the Hall of Justice and based his creation off Union Terminal's facade.

Cleveland and Cincinnati have stood in for larger cities in the past. The Avengers filmed the Battle of New York scene in Cleveland. Cincinnati has served as New York City in a number of films, including Miles Ahead and Carol.

The Wrap: WB Sets Alejandro Iñárritu-Tom Cruise Film for October 2026, Pushes ‘The Batman’ Sequel to 2027

Is anybody shocked by this? If SM is a BO success, TBM2 will be canceled. The man-child steering the DCU ship won't allow someone else's popular film to take the spotlight away from him. Only his crap should remain. Few is watching his precious CC, but he renewed it just because there were lots of talk that it flopped. laughing

The next story shouldn't be a shock either. A recent SM25 screening revealed the film is a mess. Well, if it's like the trailer – too many pieces glued together in an incoherent manner – then, I can see why “casuals” or “normies” think it's a mess. You probably have to be a hardcore SM fan to like that. But is the hardcore fandom big enough to make a $300M film a BO smash hit?

BTW, SM25 will probably have a marketing budget of $100-$150M. The gullibles out there saying that it will have a $300M marketing budget, what's the source of that number? The $363.8M has been filed with a government body as the total production budget. The production budget doesn't include marketing.

Oh, oh, I forgot to say something else about the $363.8M PB. The 1978, 2006 and 2013 SM film would all cost almost or way more than $300M to make in 2024. So if JG's arse worms would come out of his stink hole, inhale some fresh air, touch some grass and kick some rocks, they'd have realized that too.

$055M – 1977 – $286,338,531 SM
$232M – 2005 – $374,779,190 SMR
$225M – 2011 – $315,578,556 MOS

Don't you 360 degree retards know that Americans complain that everything is f*cking expensive? They can't pay for basic stuff. So you can bet your dumbarses that the crap Hollywood makes will be very expensive too.

Anyhow, I think it's pretty obvious that JG's crap filled with juvenile toilet and d*ck jokes get special treatment from critics and journalists. They'll praise it. They'll hide bad things. They'll give the negative a positive spin.

Warner Bros “Nervous" About ‘Superman' After Private Screening: “It's Kind of A Mess"

Alright, so before I tackle this, I’m going to come out and say how Jeff Sneider, who’s become a good friend, has rarely let me down with his reporting; he’s a well connected guy in the industry and he reports what he sees, which can’t always be said about many of today’s film journalists.

With that out of the way, I want to point you towards A THR piece from 12.06.24 that confirmed an internal screening of James Gunn’s “Superman” having recently occurred at Warner Bros. Here’s the excerpt:

We've heard from multiple sources about one screening in particular, on the lot and with [Gunn’s] close-knit crew of people he trusts. We're keeping the buzz about the movie itself in our own Fortress of Solitude, but we can tell you that the movie will be doing a few days of additional shooting in Los Angeles in the near term.

When I first read this, it automatically signaled to me that something odd was happening behind the scenes with “Superman.” It wasn’t the “additional shooting” mention, forget about that, but rather the fact that THR claimed having spoken to multiple folks who had seen the film, but refused to divulge anything about its quality. Why is that? Why not just briefly say that word was good on the film?

Sneider seems to have given us the answer.

He’s hearing from a “rock-solid source” that “Superman,” or at least the cut recently shown on the Warner lot, is “kind of a mess.” That’s the truth, from someone in the know, and right now, Warner is starting to get “nervous” about the film.

I strongly suspect that THR heard the same concerns that Sneider did, but they kept them locked in their “Fortress of Solitude.” Not just that, Sneider claims that he’s “heard a lot more about “Superman,” James Gunn, and DC,” and keeping it all to himself, for now.

Of course, this does not mean “Superman” will turn out to be a bad movie, it’s still seven months away from release,

There is still hope for Gunn’s “Superman,” but reporting on a failed screening at the Warner lot is something a journalist should do.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav Sells $30 Million in Company Stock

David Zaslav, president and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, sold just over $30 million worth of his stock holdings in the media conglomerate — the first time he’s cashed in shares of the media conglomerate.

Zaslav sold 2.564 million shares of WBD Series A common stock on Dec. 16 at an average weighted price of $11.73/share, totaling $30,075,720, according to an SEC filing Wednesday. Zaslav acquired the shares between Feb. 21, 2014, and Feb. 28, 2022, as part of his compensation. The exec sold the shares “in connection with year-end income tax and gift/estate planning activities,” according to the filing.

Following the sale, Zaslav directly owns 3.45 million shares of Warner Bros. Discovery, currently worth more than $38 million. In addition, as of April 4, Zaslav owned 14.7 million in stock options (representing shares that could be acquired within 60 days of that date), per WBD’s proxy filing.

Warner Bros. Discovery, parent of HBO, streaming service Max, Warner Bros. Pictures and cable nets including CNN, TNT and TBS, saw its stock get a lift last week after announcing it would reorganize into two divisions: one comprising its streaming business (plus HBO) and production studios, and the other composed of the rest of its cable TV portfolio. The reorg, expected to be complete by mid-2025, will “create opportunities as we evaluate all avenues to deliver significant shareholder value,” Zaslav said — prompting speculation that the company could sell or spin off its cable networks. WBD’s announcement came three weeks after Comcast said it planned to spin off the bulk of its NBCUniversal cable networks (except Bravo) into a publicly traded company owned by existing shareholders.

https://variety.com/2024/biz/news/warner-bros-discovery-ceo-david-zaslav-sells-stock-1236253547/

James Grant Simpson:
WBD President David Zaslav sold $30M worth of WBD stock right before the market value dropped below $11.00 USD. This coincided with the release of the Superman trailer so it looks like Zaslav didn’t have much hope for the film.

President David Zaslav sold $30M worth of WBD stock on the 16th of December 2024, just 1 day before their stock value dropped below $11.00 USD & just 2 days before the Superman trailer came out! As the trailer didn’t cause any reversal of fortune for their market value, it looks like it was either just lucky timing for Zaslav, or he expected the value to drop around the Superman trailer release.

Sometimes things are planned. But this certainly doesn't look good. There were rumors for weeks that JG might release a teaser at CCXP. That didn't happen. So they could have waited till next year. Create a time gap between DZ stock sale and SM25's trailer.

Variety: Jason Momoa Sets DC Return as Lobo in ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’

Nice way to try to kill all the negative talk about SM25 screening. laughing

Besides feeling cheap, fake and uncreative, the DCU feels already old and desperate. Mimic and/or recycle. IMO, nothing feels new, fresh and exciting. JM's Aquaman was clearly visible in PM S01, which will be part of the DCU. JM looked like Lobo sans makeup dressed in gold. Now he'll be Lobo dressed in black leather? rolling_eyes

Fiction Horizon, Dec. 27, 2024: Andy Muschietti Talks ‘Batman: Brave & the Bold’—Delays & Plans for a Smaller Film First
Via California Secreta podcast: “I’m now writing a science fiction movie that I would like to do… Batman is a project that’s been postponed a bit. So there could be another film before it, possibly that one.”

Postponing the DCU's BM film is very sus. thinking

I bet AM's little SciFi film is just an excuse to wait and see how SM25 will do. If it flops, MR's BM-verse will continue.

THR, Dec. 27, 2024:: ‘The Batman’ Sequel Moves to 2027 as Alejandro González Iñárritu and Tom Cruise Take Its Fall 2026 Date
That slides into the date previously occupied by Matt Reeves’ The Batman sequel, which is currently untitled (it was previously called The Batman: Part II).

Changing the title of MR's TBM2 is also very sus. thinking

MR's serious, expensive-looking, made-for-theater-film BM won't fit in the ridiculous, fake- and cheap-looking DCU.

BTW, remember how BM was added to MOS2-turn-BvS because the WB dumbarse fools thought that will make the sequel successful? Well, they backed the wrong horse. BvS had DC's Trinity and it still didn't make a billion and it only made $184.179.840 more than MOS, which had only one hero.

So don't count on BM to save the DCU. But the WBD*cks are doing the same f*cked up thing as their predecessors. Instead of letting MR continue his BM-verse as planned, they want to change it by forcing it into the ridiculous-looking DCU. Everything went to hell when ZS changed his plans.

2013 -- $667,999,518 -- $688,215,251 (2016 +inflation) MOS
2016 -- $872,395,091 -- $872,395,091 BvS

Minion, Dec.13, 2024: This true?
Everything DCU: Clayface and The Scarecrow will be big additions to The BATMAN PART ll. Clayface will apparently be Matt Hagen, going for a more realistic, DARMAN vibe. (Via @Danimalish)

JG, Dec. 13, 2024: Firstly, no. Secondly, couldn’t be the case as there hasn’t yet been a first draft of a script..

Minion, Dec. 14, 2024: @jamesgunn, I don’t understand…
Entertainment Weekly, Sept. 20, 2024: Reeves is now gearing up for the next movie sequel. The script is finished, he confirms, and everyone is preparing to start production next year.

JG, Dec. 14, 2024: We don’t know what that writer misconstrued to think the script was finished.

Variety, Dec. 18, 2024:

Reeves: You want to keep doing this, obviously. What do you think is next?

Kravitz: I do. I love it. Thrillers have always been what I was interested in, but then part of me is like, “I should just do a rom-com and see what happens.” And you’re writing [“The Batman Part II”] right now?

Reeves: Yeah, we’re finishing the script. We’re going to be shooting next year.

Entertainment Weekly, Sept. 20, 2024: [Editor's Note, Dec. 19, 2024: After the publication of this article, DC Studios head James Gunn wrote on Threads, "There hasn’t yet been a first draft of a script." Reeves clarifies he's "finishing the script," saying, "We've given big parts of what we've written so far to DC and they know what we're doing."]

The Wrap, Dec. 27, 2024: WB Sets Alejandro Iñárritu-Tom Cruise Film for October 2026, Pushes ‘The Batman’ Sequel to 2027

Since Sept. 2024, MR has been saying that he'll start shooting TBM2 in 2025. So he has a script or knew it'll be ready in time. So WTF happened?

Off the top of my head, two things could have happened:

  1. MR has to change the script so TBM2 can fit into the DCU cesspool. That explains why BM:B&B has been postponed (likely canceled). That also explains the title change.
  2. Whatever is happening with MR will affect his ability to shoot the film next year. It has nothing to do with the script, because the original scrip is finished.

I'm betting on #1.

"A lot [is riding on Superman]," Gunn said. "I mean, we’re not going to just keep making movies."

Shocking! Then why announce a slate? So eager to copy Marvel. Most importantly, the man-child knew the announcement would kill the BO of the three remaining DCEU films. It'd be difficult to cancel a film that was a BO success. Case in point: MR's TBM.

The man-child only wants his crap (PM and TSS). It must be killing him that MR's Penguin was way more successful than his PM S01 and CC.

Anyhow, so the man-child killed the remaining DCEU films, canceled the CW SM show and bought the SM docu. He didn't mention the Reeve family (he edited his post later when he heard the talk) or promoted and released the SM docu properly. A nice $15M flushed down the toilet. But the man-child can sleep soundly, because only his crap remains. laughing

Oh, I almost forgot that the man-child destroyed ZS' SM suit too. What kind of brain-dead c*nt let someone wear a tight suit that was made for someone shorter? Tom Brittney, who's 1 inch (2.54 cm) taller than HC, messed it up. That wasn't a red flag. Yeah, brain-dead. So let's have David, who's 3 inches (7.62 cm) taller, tear it to shreds.

So yeah, what kind of brain-dead c*nt would do that? Well, someone who wants to brag during promo interviews that his SM is bigger. So he broke the old SM suit completely. But what's the point of having Godzilla as SM and then cover him under a thick layer of cheap rubber? rolling_eyes

I bet the creepy pedo man-child wacks off to the memory of ZS's SM suit being "torn to shreds". He probably does that in his wife floral dress while secretly watching and attentively listening to a recording he made with his phone of a blonde actress making sexual noises.

JG: Sure. Yes, it is true. The only reason for the delay is there isn’t a full script (those of you who follow me here probably know that already). Matt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write. Once there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting and post-production on big films.

JG using the unfinished script excuse. He greenlit CC's S02 without any kind of script. Everybody's stuff needs a finished script, except his crap.

Updates4dc: Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow starts filming in the UK in January 2025, with Milly Alcock starring as Supergirl. Based on Tom King’s visionary work, the film hits theaters on June 26, 2026!

Since DCS won't keep making films if SM25 flop, JG is now using the unfinished script excuse to buy some time. MR will likely continue his TBM-verse if SM25 flops. Supergirl is supposed to start filming in January. What's the PB? It could suffer the same fate as Batgirl ($90M) and Coyote vs. Acme ($72M) if SM25 flops.

Cosmicbook: DC Studios Clayface Movie Greenlit With Matt Reeves Producing
A Clayface movie is officially moving forward at DC Studios, with Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris producing through their 6th & Idaho Productions company. The news comes from Variety [12/02/2024], which confirms that Mike Flanagan is writing the screenplay.
Clayface gets an official Sept. 11, 2026 release date.

Minion: @jamesgunn James, can you confirm that Clayface is in the DCU? There are people that still don't believe it.

JG: Yes the movie is in the DCU. I think I’ve already said that, haven’t I?

That wasn't part of the slate. And why release it one month before TBM2? And MR wanted Clayface for his TBM2 film too. All very sus, but not shocking.

I hear JG added Clayface to the DCU to spite MR. If true, it seems like there's tension behind the scene. To the public, they pretend everything is cookie and cream. MR is made producer of several things to keep him happy and/or to save face.

JG: To be fair, a 5 year gap or more is fairly common in sequels. 7 years between Alien and Aliens. 14 years between Incredibles. 7 years between the first two Terminators. 13 years between Avatars. 36 years between Top Guns. And, of course, 6 years between Guardians Vol 2 and Vol 3.

So? That's a very stupid comparison. Were those time gaps due to delays and/or the release date being pushed back?

One, is the man-child senile? GOTG3 had to deal with it's pedophile director/writer getting fired and COVID (half of 2020 and most of 2021).

Two, Avatar is a complicated story, because JC wanted to do multiple sequels.

Three, the other four films were standalone films with a self-contained story. They didn't end with a cliffhanger like TBM. Of course, audiences could want more, but they weren't promised a sequel.

Four, did the makers of the other four films officially announce a sequel to those films? Not all successful films get a sequel. The makers may not be interested in a sequel right away. Years later, someone may decide to do a sequel. So the time gap isn't due to delays and/or the release date being pushed back.

Five, were there delay announcements? Were the release dates pushed back several times? Sometimes delays happen behind the scene. But delays only matter when the audiences are expecting the film, but then get told they will have to wait longer. It matters even more when they're told several times, with delays each time of more than a year. That kills the excitement. They may move on. Maybe that’s what the man-child wants.

TBM2's sequel was announced at CinemaCon in April 2022.

JG and PS started as DCS' CEO Nov. 1, 2022.

TBM2's release dates:

  1. Oct. 3, 2025
  2. Oct. 2, 2026
  3. Oct. 1, 2027

There was a writers strike from May 2 to Sept. 27, 2023.

Come on! April 2022 to May 2023 was a year to write a script. MR knew from the start that his BM story would be a trilogy. TBM2 wasn't completely from scratch.

JG's minions are spreading the rumor that MR is going through some personal stuff. Some say a devorce. So JG has nothing to do with the new delay.

Excuse me if I don't think a divorce is a reason to delay the film. Many get a divorce every day. Do you think all those peeps will stop working? Peeps with a 9-to-5 job or working shifts can't stop working, because they’re getting or going through a divorce. Millionaire filmmakers can do that crap, and everybody should sympathize? Give me a freaking break.

MR is TBM2's director and writer. TBM2 is his baby. He won't let anybody write the script. So things will stall. Rob said that he'll be an elderly by the time he's done with the TBM trilogy. A lot of peeps could be working, but things stalled. Do you really think MR would be that slow if he wasn't a millionaire? If his livelihood depended on it? I don't f*cking think so.

Weird list. They forgot '28 Years Later', but hated films like CapA4, SnowWhite and Minecraft are on it. lol

I'm looking forward to:

  1. 28 Years Later
  2. Jurassic
  3. Tron
  4. Predator
  5. Avatar

I'm on the fence about:

  1. CapA4
  2. MI8
  3. F4
  4. Ballerina

Make your two lists too.

Ridley is just a cocky filmmaker who thinks he can make BS and spend whatever he wants on it too.

He's arrogant like James Cameron. Terminator Dark Fate sucked, but James delivered with Avatar. Everything from Ridley still sucks. I hear he completely ruined Gladiator with Gladiator 2.

According to Flix, CC was never #1 in any of the countries on their list. This start doesn’t seem very good. We’ll see if it register on Nielsen.

No surprise there. Geeks aren't talking about it. That's never a good sign. They're too busy talking about RDJ and CE coming back to the MCU.

These 10 movies scheduled to release in 2025 were consistently the most popular with IMDb users in 2024, based on data derived from the IMDbPro MOVIEmeter rankings.

A very sus thing, though. The JG minions love to brag and praise their master. lol So why didn't they post this before it was modified? Why did they reply to you now? You posted the Fandango list Dec. 12.

I can't tell, because I haven't seen them.

@Sue-Yin said:

OMG, I remember the JG minions screaming they will fix the suit in post. They did not. The suit looks f*cking horrible! It still looks like a blue onesie made of thick rubber. And the red loose trunks with the fake yellow belt.

IMO, the suit makes the entire teaser look cheap. lol It's just ridiculous.

But I think Krypto looks cute. I hate the crappy cape, though. SM's cape is beautiful, but Krypto's looks awful

The breed is cute. But the suit is already ridiculous. A fluffy dog makes it look like a comedy. I'd have preferred a Dobermann. I've never seen a white one. But Krypto is Kryptonian.

JG's arse worms and some other low life comicbook inbreds, wankers, simps and incells think they can control what people say. They're willing to get very aggressive too.

What's with the go suck or ride ZS c*ck BS? Is that all the JG minions can come up with? They're as uncreative as their master. The ZS goonies were more creative. lol

And the rest of the low life variants keep saying cope. Why? None of us care about CBM's. I just like to do a little gossip and film talk when I'm online.

Change the no-kill rule to let-die rule. SM isn't better than the other so-called heroes. How very hopeful and joyful for the weaklings and audiences.

JG likes to imitate ZS. He wants to show everybody that he can be serious too. Now it looks like he overdid the seriousness. The only things that resemble hope are the colors and how bright everything is. lol

You senile d*cks with limbs also forgot how you kept whining like little b!tches about how ZS let SM destroy Metropolis and kill thousands, but now an awful AI-generated Kaiju in the middle of the city is fine.

TSS had a giant starfish. Of course SM must have a giant monster too. JG's SM25 looks like Frankenstein. It's pieces from other films put together, so far.

Does he even know how trailer views are counted? If he knew, he wouldn't say stupid crap like that. But he likes to mimic others and repeat things.

SM25's teaser is an ad on YT. It will appear when you're watching something else. So it's not fair to compare this type of view with other views. Many may not be looking for the SM25 teaser on YT. The teaser is shoved down their throats while they're looking at other stuff on YT. lol

A THR piece from 12.06.24 that confirmed an internal screening of James Gunn’s “Superman” having recently occurred at Warner Bros. Here’s the excerpt:

Have you noticed that the above quote arrow_up happened before the below quotes arrow_down?

Fiction Horizon, Dec. 27, 2024: Andy Muschietti Talks ‘Batman: Brave & the Bold’—Delays & Plans for a Smaller Film First

I think the changes have to do with the result of the screening. JG said he doesn't do reshoot. He prepares very well too before he starts shooting. And the script must be good and finished before shooting starts.

So if after all the preparations the result of the screening still isn't good, that could be a real problem. How do you improve something you thought was the best it could be?

JG, Dec. 14, 2024: We don’t know what that writer misconstrued to think the script was finished.

JG: Sure. Yes, it is true. The only reason for the delay is there isn’t a full script (those of you who follow me here probably know that already).

Via California Secreta podcast: “I’m now writing a science fiction movie that I would like to do… Batman is a project that’s been postponed a bit. So there could be another film before it, possibly that one.”

JG: The Brave and the Bold hasn’t been delayed so I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

JG loves to show he's in charge and has the last word. Don't say anything, because he’ll say something to undermine your authority. If I'm a director, I won't work for someone who likes online attention and be the big swinging d*ck while saying nice things about you to soften the blow. lol

MR clearly said he will be shooting next year. He's a professional. He knows his script will be ready to do so. But here comes attention-seeker, power-hungry JG to tell the world that those who follow him already know that things will be delayed if the script isn't finished. MR said he's finishing the script. Well, he should have waited until it's finished to say he'll start shooting.

Postponed: cause or arrange for (something) to take place at a time later than that first scheduled.

Delay usually refers to a hold up in a process. It often implies some kind of obstruction or obstacle has come into play. The train was delayed.

Postponed is most often used to say that something that was scheduled and arranged will be rearranged for a new time and date. (The event has been postponed/rescheduled).

Cancel vs. Postpone: Canceling means calling off an event entirely, while postponing means rescheduling it for a later date. Canceling is permanent, while postponing offers a chance to regroup and plan anew.

Delay and postpone are kind of the same thing. I’m sure in English it’s the same. Whatever is supposed to happen will happen later. The process of making the film has been delayed or starting the process to make the film has been postponed.

A slate was announced. So many assume that the process started for those films, especially when the film has a director. The process definitely started by choosing the director. So the next step in the process has been postponed? Wouldn't that mean the whole process will be delayed if you postpone the next step?

Anyway, was it really necessary to create confusion? The director said it has been postponed just leave it at that. Why make him look like a liar so you can be a smart-arse and play with the words delay and postpone?

Anyhow, I think it's pretty obvious that JG's crap filled with juvenile toilet and d*ck jokes get special treatment from critics and journalists. They'll praise it. They'll hide bad things. They'll give the negative a positive spin.

Business Iinsider: 'Suicide Squad' director James Gunn thinks superhero movies are 'really dumb' and 'mostly boring' right now
“We know about the way cowboy films went, and the way war films went,” says Gunn. “I don’t know, I think you don’t have to be a genius to put two and two together and see that there’s a cycle to those sorts of films, you know and that the only hope for the future of the comic book and superhero films is to change them up. They’re really dumb. And they’re mostly boring for me right now.
I loved them at the beginning. I was really excited when they first started making those movies. It was about the visual effects when I saw Superman as a kid. I still love that movie. Okay, I know, that’s a guy on wires and bluescreen with this sort of crappy visual effects. And then when Iron Man came out, I was in. You’re able to make a guy fly around who looks like a guy flying around. And that was a beautiful thing to be able to do. But if the movies don’t change, it’s gonna get really, really boring.

Comicbook and superhero films are dumb? Does that mean that those who enjoy them are dumb too? That could explain why the dumb sh*t that JG makes is praised. Good Lord, just look at the dumb SM25 teaser. That thing got the grown, hairy arse dummies all excited. rofl

An oldie but a goodie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohOtDA3dTAA

It looks like HBO, Disney, Pixar, MCU and Paramount are starting to de-woke (?). Maybe Star Wars too.

From all the stories, the JKR one may be the funniest, though. The "tiny" trans-community is always trying to include other groups into their mess to make it look like peeps are against all the letters in LGBTQ+. But like me, JKR is a supporter of the LGB community.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVYRvryn9a4

The same can't be said for the trans-community, because they're trying to erase the LGB community.

Case in point: “These are young people who may have known since they were two years old exactly who they are, who suffered for six, seven years before they had any relief.” - Chase Strangio, trans-man lawyer.

A two year old knows, huh? WTH? Since when are these subjects so black-and-white? So an effeminate boy can't be a gay boy and a masculine girl can't be a lesbian? Heck, it isn't possible to outgrow that phase or just become a hetero flamboyant men or a hetero tomboy woman? Can someone please keep these trans-lunatics away from kids?

J.K. Rowling involved in new Harry Potter series

Variety

HBO Says ‘Harry Potter’ Series Will ‘Benefit’ From J.K. Rowling’s Involvement: She ‘Has the Right to Express Her Personal Views’

When J.K. Rowling first went public in June 2020 about her belief that transgender women are men and transgender men are women, many of the stars of the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” movies — including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Eddie Redmayne — immediately spoke out in support of trans and nonbinary rights and identity. [...] And Warner Bros. released a carefully worded statement that “a diverse and inclusive culture has never been more important to our company and to our audiences around the world” — which, while not mentioning Rowling or trans and nonbinary people, did at least put some rhetorical distance between the studio and the creative force behind one of its most enduring and lucrative franchises.

Four years later, the landscape looks quite different. Under new leadership, Warner Bros. Discovery has aggressively expanded the reach of Rowling’s Wizarding World, centered on HBO’s impending revival of Rowling’s book series as a longform TV show, led by showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod, both alums of “Succession.” HBO chief Casey Bloys told reporters at a press event on Nov. 12 that Rowling was “very, very involved in the process selecting the writer and the director,” and her anti-trans statements “haven’t affected the casting or hiring of writers or productions staff” for the show. And a spokesperson for the network said in a statement to Variety that its parent company has “been working with J.K. Rowling and in the Harry Potter business for over 20 years” and “her contribution has been invaluable.”

“We are proud to once again tell the story of Harry Potter — the heartwarming books that speak to power of friendship, resolve and acceptance,” the statement continued. “J.K. Rowling has a right to express her personal views. We will remain focused on the development of the new series, which will only benefit from her involvement.”

Rowling’s views have indeed invoked sharp words of support as well as dissent; while Radcliffe has continued to express how “deeply sad” the author’s comments on trans issues have made him, “Potter” stars Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter and Jim Broadbent have spoken out in her defense, and replies to her on X are filled with words of encouragement. For her part, Rowling has affirmed that she’s unconcerned about her gender activism affecting her legacy, and in April, she made clear that she would not forgive any creative collaborators who have spoken out in opposition to her beliefs: “Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces.” clap

While some Potter fans have advocated for a boycott of the new series — which Rowling mocked in 2023 — Anelli has grown dubious about how effective it could be. “There’s the argument that support increases [Rowling’s] influence,” she says. “I don’t know how much more she can have. Money is sort of theoretical to her. It’s in the stratosphere of what does a raindrop do to a thunderstorm?” Four years of fan outcry and shunning of her work, Anelli says, “has not affected the bottom line at all” within the vast Potter industry of book sales, video games, theme parks, toys and other ancillary revenue streams.

Disney removes cartoon episode about transgender character: ‘It breaks my heart’

News broke this week [Nov. 17, 2024] that the episode, which leaked on YouTube, has been pulled from airing on Disney Channel in 2025 because of its LGBTQ storyline.

According to Polygon, the episode titled “The Gatekeeper” is about the transgender character Brooklyn, who is voiced by “Pose” star Indya Moore. Brooklyn is competing on the girl’s volleyball team and faces discrimination from the opposing team’s coach, Greer (voiced by Amy Sedaris).

Greer reportedly uses a magical key to lock Brooklyn and her teammates in the girl’s locker room. Brooklyn breaks down to her teammates and tells them, “I’m trans, my very existence breaks Greer’s rules.”

Brooklyn also wears pride-themed kneepads and has a “Trans is beautiful” sticker on her water bottle in the episode, according to Polygon.

Derrick Malik Johnson, a member of the show’s storyboard revisionist team, addressed the episode being pulled in a since-deleted post on the new social media microblogging app Bluesky.

“So guess I finally got hit with one of the projects (episode) I worked on is getting shelved because of which party that won the recent election,” he wrote. “It breaks my heart knowing this impactful and amazing is now about to be consider a lost media episode.”

Other animated artists spoke out on social media and similarly speculated that the episode was removed because Donald Trump won the presidential election.

Emmy Cicirega, a storyboard artist on “Gravity Falls,” wrote on X, “Disney should be ashamed of themselves for canning this episode. You don’t get to approve approve approve something and then destroy it at the last minute, shattering the crews hard work and hopes.”

Matt Braly, who created “Amphibia,” responded to Cicirega’s post and said, “If an episode got this far, it was approved multiple times by multiple divisions, only to suddenly be struck down at the last second? Total break down of process and spitting on your team’s careful/thoughtful work. S&P approved this ep. It was good to go.”

“The action being preemptive makes it so much worse to me,” Braly added in a second tweet. “The absolute cowardice and second guessing when actually this is when this content is needed most.”

However, a Disney source told Polygon that the show’s decision was made over a year ago and was not based on the outcome of the election.

“In this case, this decision was based on this specific episode, not because of the character being trans,” the insider claimed, adding that the episode is not “banned” but is being “held.”

The source also said that Disney is “really proud” of the show [“Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaurand"] that the company is “respectful of the role that parents play in the discussions they have with their children.”

Disney removes transgender storyline from upcoming Pixar streaming series

Disney pulled a transgender storyline from “Win or Lose,” an eight-episode Pixar streaming series that debuts in February, the company said Tuesday.

“When it comes to animated content for a younger audience,” a Disney spokesperson said in a statement, “we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline.”

The character will remain in the show, but references to the character’s gender identity have been removed, the company said. The alteration involves “just a few lines of dialogue” near the end of the season.

“Win or Lose” centers on a co-ed middle school softball team in the lead-up to a big game, with each episode focusing on a different character’s perspective.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has said he wants the company to move away from themes that could be perceived as political. “Infusing messaging is not what we’re up to,” Iger said in an interview with CNBC in early April. “We need to be entertaining.”

In recent years, Disney has sometimes found itself at the center of wider American culture wars, most notably under the tenure of Iger’s short-lived predecessor, Bob Chapek.

Chapek was blasted by employees in 2022 after appearing to remain silent on what critics called Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” legislation limiting classroom discussion of LGBTQ issues, then faulted by conservatives when he ultimately publicly opposed the bill.

The same year, conservative activists assailed Disney for including LGBTQ characters in two animated family films: Pixar’s “Lightyear” depicted a brief same-sex kiss, and Disney Animation’s “Strange World” revolved partly around a gay teenager.

MCU Producer Nate Moore Exits Marvel: Follows Rumors Of Woke Execs Getting Fired

Following the rumors that Marvel fired all its woke execs that ruined the MCU, now it’s learned producer Nate Moore is exiting Marvel.

The news also follows the reports Captain America: Brave New World has been a disaster with massive reshoots and a ballooning budget, and comes only two months before the film’s release.

Moore is the Marvel producer who went woke with Eternals. It was his idea to replace the original characters from the comics with a diverse cast. How’d that work out?

He’s also the same guy that said he won’t hire writers that read the comics. We’re talking about comic book movies and TV shows here. The director of Secret Invasion revealed that he was told not to read the comics. How’d that work out? Following the failure of Secret Invasion, Kevin Feige overhauled its TV division, which includes retooling Daredevil: Born Again, just like I said.

Now it’s known Ironheart won’t be following the comics. While that may not be bad thing when it comes to the titular character, the show’s villain is The Hood who will be a gangster turned activist from Chicago along with Riri Williams (you can ‘t make this up). Anthony Ramos revealed he didn’t read the comics but he’s putting a new fresh spin on the character to make it fit with the present day! Yay!

Nate Moore also produced Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which turns Namor into a Mexican (how’d that work out?). The 90lb Shuri also becomes Black Panther, and the film forces the use of Ironheart onto the fans who has no reason to be in the movie. Moore is also listed as producing Armor Wars which is supposed to feature Ironheart (if it happens). Good luck.

Again, Moore is also producing Captain America: Brave New World which reportedly has gone though nearly a dozen reshoots and massively ballooned the budget. Anthony Mackie is Captain America in the film. Moore also produced The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (it’s rumored they kill off Sebastian Stan’s Bucky in Thunderbolts).

Regarding the departure of Nate Moore from Marvel, Deadline says he is leaving Marvel in early 2025. Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito confirm the news in a joint statement. They also say Moore will be involved with Black Panther 3 (which Denzel Washingon let slip is happening), which I am guessing is due to his contract, in addition to spinning things as to not look like his departure is bad press (Black Panther 3 is confirmed!) yet again, less than 2 months before Cap 4 gets released:

“Nate is a fantastic executive and colleague as well as a wonderful friend to all of us here at Marvel Studios. He has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling. Although we’ll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie.”

Back in August saw the report that Marvel fired its woke producers and cleaned house due to the big failure of Phase 4.

“I do know people who work at Marvel. They have cleaned house,” said Chris Gore. “They quietly, months ago, fired all the producers that could be labeled activist.”

Paramount Fires Global Head of Inclusion Amid Discrimination Lawsuit

Paramount Global has terminated the position of its Global Head of Inclusion, Marva Smalls, amidst an ongoing lawsuit regarding alleged discriminatory hiring practices. Smalls will transition to a new role with limited authority, signaling a shift in the company’s focus away from inclusion initiatives.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Smalls would be moving into a new role working with the office of CEO and Chairman Shari Redstone, starting January 1st. In her new position, Smalls will focus on the transition to the post-merger state of things. However, the explanation for this new role appears convoluted and does not sound like there is actually a new position for her.

“We want to acknowledge the tremendous impact Marva has had in her current role at Paramount and thank her for her many contributions,” the co-CEOs said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Her career in entertainment started at Nickelodeon where she created the public affairs division and built programs to give Paramount credibility among regulators, advocates and community-based organizations.”

Smalls claimed that she notified the CEO a year ago about her intention to leave by January 1st, which Paramount allowed for politeness’ sake. However, this does not change the fact that she is being removed from her previous position. Her new role, starting January 1st, will involve helping to transition all of her responsibilities and work to other people, subject to a plan she is just starting to put together.

Smalls’ position as Executive Vice President at Paramount held significant weight within the company, and she was known for using her influence to push for inclusion and diversity hiring initiatives. These efforts may have contributed to the Brian Beneker lawsuit, which accuses Paramount of discriminating against a white male candidate.

Adam Post speculates that the person who discriminated against Beneker was in fact Smalls.

The termination of Smalls’ position and the transition to a new role with limited authority does indeed indicate a shift in Paramount’s focus away from aggressive diversity policies that may have led to backlash. The ongoing lawsuit against Paramount, which CBS tried and failed to have dismissed, highlights serious allegations of discriminatory hiring practices, revealing potential legal vulnerabilities for the studio.

As Paramount faces scrutiny over its handling of diversity and equity issues, the future direction of the company’s inclusion initiatives and how they will be managed remains uncertain. The transition of power and restructuring of Smalls’ position suggest a reevaluation of executive roles, aiming for more balanced authority in hiring practices, and a lot less emphasis on the importance of DEI.

Gina Carano Returns to Star Wars Lore: New Lucasfilm Publication Includes Cara Dune

To the shock of many, Gina Carano appears in the new Star Wars Encyclopedia, published by DK and released this month. However, there’s absolutely no mention of any characters associated with failed Disney+ series The Acolyte, the brain child of Harvery Weinstein’s former personal assistant, Leslye Headland.

Carano’s character, Cara Dune, gets a large photo and a full write up detailing her history, military service, and adventures with The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Author Adam Bray, a writer for DK who worked on the previous three editions of the Star Wars Encyclopedia (then called Ultimate Star Wars) noted Carano’s inclusion on X. While the book lists Bray as an author on the project, he was not called back to work on it directly.

In a conversation with That Park Place, Bray alluded to a canceled Mandalorian visual guide that was pulled from production very suddenly after Carano’s firing.

“I was not involved in that but it sure smelled fishy that any book that would have included Gina was canceled right after she was fired,” Bray told us. “My guess is that had everything to do with Gina. That had to have HUGE consequences for the publishers to do that last minute.”

Carano’s inclusion wasn’t the only interesting tidbit to come out of Bray’s X account. He also noted that there are no characters from The Acolyte included in the expansive tome.

“The most notable omission is anything from The Acolyte,” Bray said on X. “The series is completely ignored.”

What’s notable is that there are a few small entries on the Ubisoft action-adventure video game Star Wars: Outlaws, which released after The Acolyte’s first and only season ended. This negates any claims of there being some kind of content cutoff to explain away The Acolyte’s exclusion.

The Leslye Headland-helmed series was a colossal failure for Disney and Lucasfilm. The controversial show, which sought to change the fundamental definition of The Force, failed to draw a sizable audience. The studio officially canceled it after the first season aired. Since then, Disney pulled all Acolyte merchandise from the shelves, with only a few t-shirts remaining on DisneyStore.com.

This start doesn’t seem very good. We’ll see if it register on Nielsen.

After four eps, it still hasn't.

They have ruined all the characters.

Kraven made just $59,715,040 worldwide ($110M PB). Peeps gave it a 70% on RT. The critics gave it 16%.

@Sue-Yin said:

JG"s uncreative arse just like to steal crap from other films. He remembered all the colors WW84 used and decided to do something similar.

I think Thor4 also had a very colorful poster.

OMG, I remember the JG minions screaming they will fix the suit in post. They did not. The suit looks f*cking horrible

It does. Jesus, who thought that suit would look good? The trailer doesn't look fantastical to me. It looks cheap and cartoonish.

I'm entitled to my opinion just like you internet vermin are entitled to yours. The only difference is that I’m not up JG’s arse. If you can't handle what I write about your crappy SM film, don't f*cking read it. The internet isn't for wimps.

You had been very busy.

You senile d*cks with limbs also forgot how you kept whining like little b!tches

D*cks are all kinds of things these days. Delusional is one of those things. Some actually think they're women.

BTW, they whine like little b*tches with menstrual cramps. rofl

Many big films were released before certain socials existed and/or before the socials that existed became really popular. Even MOS' first trailer (2012) came out before IG really exploded. Extremely popular hell holes like TikTok (TT) didn't exist.

Some geeks are like sponge. They absorb everything said. They're clearly incapable of thinking for themselves.

The next story shouldn't be a shock either. A recent SM25 screening revealed the film is a mess.

They say Lex is the only good thing. He "stands out". I think so too. I thought Lois would stand out, but she looks like the intern that gets coffee for the real Lois. Maybe that's how newspaper reporters look. Maybe Amy Adams' Lois was too glamorous.

Anyway, I knew NH would look good as Lex. He looked good bald in Fury Road. And of course he can act.

JM's Aquaman was clearly visible in PM S01, which will be part of the DCU. JM looked like Lobo sans makeup dressed in gold. Now he'll be Lobo dressed in black leather? rolling_eyes

Is this another X casting? When did JM say he always wanted to be Lobo? I remember when he was cast as AM, geeks were angry about the race swapping and said he should be Lobo.

MR's serious, expensive-looking, made-for-theater-film BM won't fit in the ridiculous, fake- and cheap-looking DCU.

The tone is completely different. And how will they explain why nobody helped BM when the flood happened? The heroes in the DCU are well established. Why didn't they help? So many heroes to just fight crime in Metropolis? How big is that city? How powerful are the villains?

BvS had a similar problem. Where were WW, AM and BM when SM was fighting the Kryptonians?

They should let TBM stay in his own universe. Instead of pushing the release date, they should tell MR to hurry up and finish the trilogy.

Supergirl is supposed to start filming in January. What's the PB? It could suffer the same fate as Batgirl ($90M) and Coyote vs. Acme ($72M) if SM25 flops.

According to the geeks, SG will appear in one of the two post-credit scenes of SM25. They also say that SM will appear in SG. Apparently, David is or was in England.

I think they think that including these characters in each others film will put more bums on seats.

Come on! April 2022 to May 2023 was a year to write a script. MR knew from the start that his BM story would be a trilogy. TBM2 wasn't completely from scratch.

Exactly.

Excuse me if I don't think a divorce is a reason to delay the film.

Do you really think MR would be that slow if he wasn't a millionaire? If his livelihood depended on it? I don't f*cking think so.

Even when a loved one is really sick or died, non-millionaire peeps can just take a few weeks off.

The only thing that can delay the production for so long is MR's own health. He's really sick and can't work. That doesn't seem to be the case, because MR was giving interviews on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

@AnnaB said:

Make your two lists too.

I'm looking forward to:

  1. CapA4
  2. MI8
  3. Jurassic
  4. Tron
  5. Predator

I'm on the fence about:

  1. F4
  2. Ballerina
  3. Megan 2
  4. Michael
  5. Avatar

Probably a few more horrors that I can't remember the names of.

They're too busy talking about RDJ and CE coming back to the MCU.

So everybody is coming back in a different role? I'm so done with this BS. Black Panther 3 will be the last MCU film I'll see in theaters.

A very sus thing, though. The JG minions love to brag and praise their master. lol So why didn't they post this before it was modified? Why did they reply to you now? You posted the Fandango list Dec. 12.

Someone said that the Fandango list was posted on their X on Dec. 11, 2024 and they haven't updated it ever since.

SM25's teaser is an ad on YT. It will appear when you're watching something else. So it's not fair to compare this type of view with other views.

Exactly.

MR said he's finishing the script. Well, he should have waited until it's finished to say he'll start shooting.

On the Golden Globes red carpet, MR said again that he'll start shooting this year.

SM's shooting started Feb. 29 and ended Jul. 30th. It will be released eleven months later. If MR starts shooting in May or June, TBM2 could still be released Oct. 2026. TBM3 in 2027 and AM's BM:B&B in 2028. In the meanwhile, DCU fans have Clayface and SG:WOT.

‘Superman’ Takes Flight In New Trailer And It Looks . . . Weird

I’m trying to stay upbeat about James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie. I want DC to bounce back. I want all the franchises to bounce back: Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek, Game Of Thrones, Lord Of The Rings. They’re all floundering.

I was mostly very positive about the first trailer—much more hopeful than I was when Gunn showed off the very bizarre first image of Superman.

Much of this shorter TV spot is exactly the same as the first, only slimmed down. But at the very end we get a brief glimpse of Superman (David Corenswet) flying above the snow and ice (pictured above). While it’s awesome to see our hero in flight, it’s also . . . weird looking? Something’s off.

Maybe it’s something about his eyes. Or his entire face. His face looks weirdly CGI here. The CGI is one of the things that worried me in the first trailer, and it worries me again here. Maybe it’s just unfinished and we’ll see a more polished, less funky version at release. I’m really not sure.

In any case, I will continue to be skeptical but open-minded. I have enjoyed a lot of what Gunn has made in the past—especially the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie—but the weird CGI and the huge roster of superheroes and villains and monsters does have me worried that there will be too much plot, too many moving pieces, and possibly a little too much of Gunn’s brand of humor for this to be a satisfying reboot. I hope I’m wrong on all counts.

Update: Via ScreenRant, James Gunn has responded to a follower on X/Twitter, noting that there “is absolutely zero CG in his face. People’s faces can look different when you put a wide angle lens up close. The background plate in Svalbard is 100% real as is David.”

I guess it’s good that this isn’t bad CGI, but I’m not sure whether or not that matters at the end of the day. If it looks weird, it looks weird. Maybe it will be such a tiny moment in the overall film that we won’t even really notice.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2025/01/26/superman-takes-flight-in-new-trailer-and-it-looks----weird/

If it makes the face looks different, then why use it? Or use it and then correct it with CGI? Or don't shoot the full face so close to amplify the imperfections? Apparently, Black Adam and GOTG3 had a similar shot and it was criticized and ridiculed. So why do it again?

What's supposed to be the new million $ shot (saving the little girl was the old one) turns out to be the $1 shot with a million funny memes. rofl

Actually, IMO, the new million $ shot is Lex getting off the plane. NH looks awesome bald. That's something that many good looking men can't pull off. I also don't think it's a good idea to have a villain as pretty or prettier than the hero. Just sayin'.

Jurassic World Rebirth | Official Trailer

A new era is born. This summer, three years after the Jurassic World trilogy concluded with each film surpassing $1 billion at the global box office, the enduring Jurassic series evolves in an ingenious new direction with Jurassic World Rebirth.

Anchored by iconic action superstar Scarlett Johansson, Emmy and SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey and two-time Oscar® winner Mahershala Ali, this action-packed new chapter sees an extraction team race to the most dangerous place on Earth, an island research facility for the original Jurassic Park, inhabited by the worst of the worst that were left behind.

Also starring acclaimed international stars Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, the film is directed by dynamic visualist Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) from a script by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp.

Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

Academy Award® nominee Johansson plays skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure the genetic material. When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on a forbidden island that had once housed an undisclosed research facility for Jurassic Park. There, in a terrain populated by dinosaurs of vastly different species, they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades.

Ali is Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team member; Critics Choice and Olivier Award winner Jonathan Bailey (Wicked, Bridgerton) plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Emmy nominee Rupert Friend (Homeland, Obi-Wan Kenobi) appears as Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer, Murder on the Orient Express) plays Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked civilian family.

The cast includes Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty) and Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez) as Reuben’s family. The film also features, as members of Zora and Krebs’ crews, Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF) and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).

Jurassic World Rebirth is directed by BAFTA winner Edwards from a script by Koepp (War of the Worlds), based on characters created by Michael Crichton. The film is produced by Oscar® nominee Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, both longtime Jurassic franchise producers and of last summer’s blockbuster, Twisters. The film is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart and Jim Spencer.

WBD spent a lot of money promoting Flash, the last film of a dying universe, with a controversial actor as the lead. Now WBD refuses to spend money to promote the film that will kick-start it's brand new universe. rofl

Some say that SM, Lois and Jimmy are played by Jewish actors and that may be a problem. Right now, there seems to be a lot of anti Jew going on.

They say Lex is the only good thing. He "stands out". I think so too. I thought Lois would stand out, but she looks like the intern that gets coffee for the real Lois.

I thought the same thing about Vanessa Kirby. She's supposed to stand out. She's the only one 100% right for the role, but she looks meh. Joseph looked better than I expected. Pedro is no Mr. Fantastic. The Thing's voice isn't right for the character. They better change that.

From all the trailers, I only like the Jurassic and MI8 trailer.

So everybody is coming back in a different role?

CE said he's not coming back. Nobody believes him. lol

On the Golden Globes red carpet, MR said again that he'll start shooting this year.

At the end of the year. It won't be ready for Oct. 2026. They really want to see how SM25 does. lol I think that not spending money to promote SM25 shows that WBD doesn't believe in it. They're so desperate that they're using ZS again. OMG, it didn't work for Flash. The ZS goonies are not stupid. rofl

It’s awful for David. The pedophile running the show keeps making him look bad in every promo thing. JG keeps turning his leading man into memes.

The suit looks awful. SM's first reveal was underwhelming. First trailer looks cheap, fake like made for TV. The million $ shot makes SM look like the face of someone who resembles David was cut and put on some disproportionate body.

The First Look at the He-Man Movie Has Big Muscles and a Big Sword

You see a tease of it above and in full below. That’s He-Man, played by Nicholas Galitzine, with the Sword of Power. The sword has the recognizable design from the toys and multiple animated series, but a much gritter, worn-down feel to it. Which makes sense.

As previously announced, Masters of the Universe is being directed by Travis Knight

That cast is not just incredible but almost hard to believe. Like, we are going to get to see Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms?! Is Oscar winner Jared Leto sending everyone on the cast missives filled with god knows what as the evil Skeletor? Others such as Baccarin, Jóhannesson, and Purefoy are pitch-perfect choices too.

James Bond is set to enter public domain: What this means for next 007 movie future

In the next few years, the likes of the original Batman and Superman will become up for grabs as will Ian Fleming’s James Bond.

The author’s novels, which are already out of copyright in some countries like Canada and Japan, will be fully in the public domain come 2035.

[…] non-EON productions of Bond will be able to go ahead, yet there are much-loved aspects from the 007 film franchise (like the gun barrel and music, as pointed out on Twitter by MI6 HQ), that will remain very much in the hands of the Broccolis

https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/films/1851563/Next-James-Bond-public-domain

Dearrichblog.blogspot.com

007: License to Infringe

The James Bond books are in the public domain in approximately 100 countries (listed below). These countries terminate copyright fifty years after the death of the author. (As a general rule, the rest of the world terminates copyright 70 years after death.)

Because Ian Fleming died in 1964, all James Bond books fell into the public domain in the life + 50-year countries in 2015. However, in countries that terminate copyright 70 years after death (for example, the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, and Australia), the Bond books won't be in the public domain until 2035.

Regardless of copyright duration (life + 50 or life + 70 years), you cannot use elements that were created for the films but that do not appear in the books.

Can a public domain work acquire copyright protection? "Public domain" refers to creative materials not protected by intellectual property laws. The public owns these works, not an individual author or artist. Anyone can use a public domain work without obtaining permission, but no one can own it. Public domain works cannot revert to copyright protection except for some foreign works that omitted copyright notice and are subject to the Uruguay Round Agreements Act (URAA), passed in 1994.

Jurisdictions where the James Bond novels are in the public domain include:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahrain, Barbados, Belarus, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bhutan, Bolivia, Brunei, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada*, Cape Verde, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Cuba, Curaçao, Djibouti, El Salvador, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gambia, Guyana, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Japan**, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kiribati, Kosovo, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Macau, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Micronesia, Monaco, Mongolia, Morocco, Namibia, Nauru, Nepal, Caribbean Netherlands, New Zealand, Niger, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Qatar, Saint Helena, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Sint Maarten, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Sudan, Suriname, Syria, Taiwan (Republic of China), Tanzania, Thailand, Timor Leste, Togo, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

License to Shill: Inside Amazon’s 007 Takeover

When it comes to cringey musical tributes, nobody does it better than the Oscars.

The whole reason the Academy decided to devote six full minutes of the ceremony to Bond music was that Broccoli and Wilson were the recipients of this year’s honorary Irving G. Thalberg Oscar, an accolade bestowed upon them in November at the Governors Awards to celebrate the half-siblings’ 30 years of unwavering stewardship over the spy franchise they inherited in 1995 from their father, legendary Bond producer Albert “Cubby” Broccoli.

There was just one small problem: Days before the ceremony, Broccoli and Wilson announced they were selling Bond to Amazon.

It was a bombshell development that caught much of Hollywood — including, clearly, Oscar’s musical producers — by surprise. What could have compelled them to do it?

Amazon, of course, had purchased MGM, Bond’s longtime home, in 2022 for $8.5 billion, mostly to get its hands on 007 IP and build it into a Marvel-style universe filled with bingeable TV spinoffs. The only things stopping them were Broccoli and Wilson, who had very different ideas for their father’s legacy, as well as a decades-long deal with MGM guaranteeing them creative dominion over all things Bond. But now that they’re out of the picture, Amazon can do whatever it wants.

“We just try to focus on making good pictures, and it takes time, it takes a couple of years,” Wilson said in an interview shortly after MGM’s sale to Amazon was announced, telegraphing to his new owners his unwillingness to put Bond on television. “Putting all that energy into making 10 or 20 hours of a TV show, that’s a big commitment. We’d have to delegate to do that. And we’ve been very reluctant to delegate.”

Meanwhile, as the franchise sputtered and stalled, Wilson, nearly 20 years older than Broccoli, decided to retire, leaving Barbara on her own with the Amazonians.

Wilson’s departure was said to be a big factor in Broccoli’s ultimate decision to walk away from the franchise. After 30 years of Bond movies, she no longer had the stomach or stamina for the endless studio battles or the years-long Bond production marathons, certainly not on her own. And there was no obvious successor — not even Wilson’s son, Greg, who’s been working on the recent films but who, insiders say, wasn’t considered ready to step into his father’s shoes.

In any case, it all came to a head in December, a month after Broccoli and Wilson picked up the Thalberg at the Governors Awards. That’s when The Wall Street Journal published a piece detailing the chilly state of affairs between Amazon and the Broccolis in which Barbara was quoted as telling friends that Amazon executives were “fucking idiots.” Not surprisingly, those choice words apparently did not go over well with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. “He read her quote in the Journal and got on the phone and said, ‘I don’t care what it costs, get rid of her,'” is how one insider describes what happened next.

Either way, insiders say that Bezos would end up paying close to a billion dollars for the franchise. For that kind of money, Broccoli and Wilson must have decided, other people can screw it up all they want

The fact is, the very same qualities that made the Broccolis such superb custodians of their father’s legacy are also ones that in some ways have stunted the franchise’s growth. […] Broccoli and Wilson, for instance, could have been a bit more accommodating to Christopher Nolan when he was reportedly sniffing around after Tenet, hinting that he’d be interested in directing a Bond movie. Perhaps it was worth at least considering giving final cut to the guy who reinvented Batman. After all, if his film about the A-bomb could make a billion dollars, imagine what Nolan’s Bond movie could do. (Also, while we’re on the subject, is that Moneypenny spinoff really such a dumb idea? Look at what Max just did with The Penguin.)

Amazon MGM Studios’ James Bond Producers In London Getting Started On “Fresh, Exhilarating New Chapter” – CinemaCon

Courtenay Valenti, head of Film, Streaming and Theatrical, and global marketing chief Sue Kroll, said Wednesday night that producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are currently in London moving forward with a new 007 at long last.

“We are committed to honoring the legacy of this iconic character, while bringing a fresh, exhilarating new chapter to audiences around the world alongside Amy and David,” she said. “They are both in London getting started and couldn’t be here tonight, but we wanted to thank them for what we know will be an incredible partnership. Thank you, Amy and David!”

Amazon acquired the studio in 2022 for $8.5 billion. That included all its IP. But the Bond franchise was unusual as it remained creatively the domain of Wilson and Broccoli, who had declined to move ahead on anything new since the merger.

The e-commerce giant paid out another $1 billion to gain creative control. As part of the deal, Amazon and the producers formed a new joint venture to house the Bond intellectual property rights, with Broccoli and Wilson remaining co-owners of the franchise.

The Bond update arrived at Amazon MGM’s debut at CinemaCon, the annual gathering of theater owners in Las Vegas. The studio is ramping up its theatrical slate to 16 films in 2027 and building out a global distribution arm.

The breed is cute. But the suit is already ridiculous. A fluffy dog makes it look like a comedy.

Krypto went from cute to annoying. Some call him Krypto the stupid dog.

A super dog can’t be stupid and reckless on a world with fragile humans. SM’s dog should be well behaved like him. But JG had to base Krypto on his wild dog. I bet his wife is voicing one of SM’s servant bots.

JG likes to imitate ZS.

JG's SM25 looks like Frankenstein. It's pieces from other films put together, so far.

Oh, yeah. Some geeks claim SM will kill the villain (MOS) while others say LL will stop SM from killing the villain (BvS).

JG said he doesn't do reshoot.

  1. I don’t do reshoots. Now he had to do reshoots.
  2. I’m not into cameos. Apparently, there are cameos in SM25.
  3. Let’s announce a slate. Now several projects fell through and projects that weren’t mentioned are in development. Very chaotic. No clear direction or vision. Throw things at the wall to see what sticks.
  4. A project gets greenlit when the script is finished and good. Why announce a slate or projects in advance? What if you’re not pleased with any script?
  5. We won’t keep making films if SM flops. Again, why announce a slate or projects in advance? Oh, why double down on that by announcing projects that weren’t on the original slate?

Comicbook and superhero films are dumb? Does that mean that those who enjoy them are dumb too?

Of course they are. Look at how excited some grown hairy arse men are about the recent crappy extended trailer. Forced, juvenile humor. So much BS squeezed into the new added footage alone.

It’s awful for David. The pedophile running the show keeps making him look bad in every promo thing. JG keeps turning his leading man into memes.

The man-child wants to be the only one that shines. He inserts himself into everything.

I posted an article on the Gossip thread that will interest you.

It does. Jesus, who thought that suit would look good? The trailer doesn't look fantastical to me. It looks cheap and cartoonish.

The way Krypto behaves and the way SM lies in the snow after Krypto pulls his leg is so cartoonish, ridiculous and annoying. All that unnecessary crap for some forced humor.

You had been very busy.

I live in a Christian country. I get the free days from the Christmas holiday, but I don’t celebrate it. That was my entertainment. JG’s arse worms think they can scare me or something. I can swear too.

Is this another X casting? When did JM say he always wanted to be Lobo? I remember when he was cast as AM, geeks were angry about the race swapping and said he should be Lobo.

Yep, it’s not an X casting.

According to the geeks, SG will appear in one of the two post-credit scenes of SM25.

According to the geeks, SG will be drunk and Krypto is hers. She left him with SM.

So everybody is coming back in a different role? I'm so done with this BS. Black Panther 3 will be the last MCU film I'll see in theaters.

Some geeks sat on their hairy, good for nothing arses and watched 5.5 hours of chairs with names. Yeah, brain-dead. Now I understand why they keep drooling and wetting their SM undies whenever JG release some crappy SM stuff.

Actually, IMO, the new million $ shot is Lex getting off the plane. NH looks awesome bald. That's something that many good looking men can't pull off. I also don't think it's a good idea to have a villain as pretty or prettier than the hero. Just sayin'.

NH does look good. So does David. Unfortunately, he has to wear that horrible suit.

Theaters call police after “Chicken Jockey” trend turns Minecraft movie screenings into chaos

Cinema chains across the country have been forced to implement emergency protocols this April as the “Chicken Jockey” TikTok trend disrupts Minecraft movie screenings. Young fans are gathering in groups, chanting loudly and reacting dramatically to specific scenes, creating an atmosphere one manager described as “absolute mayhem.”

The disruptive behavior stems from a viral TikTok phenomenon where moviegoers record themselves participating in choreographed reactions throughout the film. This includes standing, shouting specific phrases from the game, and in extreme cases, throwing items when iconic Minecraft elements appear on screen.

Social media participation has become increasingly common at film screenings, […] However, the scale of the Minecraft disruptions has reached unprecedented levels, forcing theater intervention.

The situation has become so severe that police have been called to several theaters nationwide. Last weekend, authorities responded to a suburban multiplex after complaints about teenagers blocking exits and intimidating staff members who attempted to enforce theater policies.

This level of intervention hasn’t been seen since previous entertainment releases caused similar disruptions. Much like the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 launch generating parental concerns, the Minecraft phenomenon is forcing theaters to reconsider safety protocols.

“We’re thrilled about the box office success,” notes industry analyst Sophia Chen. “But just as billionaires are warning of economic troubles ahead, theater chains are concerned about the long-term impact of enabling disruptive viewing experiences.”

Valkyrae cameo mysteriously cut from A Minecraft Movie after she accused Jason Momoa of 'mistreating some of the crew' last year: 'I feel like things could have been so much worse

Before A Minecraft Movie launched, Valkyrae was all set to join a bunch of other streamers in getting a short cameo in the film, but in a recent stream she revealed that her appearance had been cut.

"I'm not gonna touch too much on it," said the streamer, but she confirmed that she would have gotten roughly equal screentime that other people making cameos got: "which is like 30 seconds" or so.

Alas, it was not to be, and Valkyrae didn't say why. She did seem to suggest there was a behind-the-scenes fracas though: "I would much rather not have that 30 seconds than be sued. So it’s all good, okay?" After all, she continued "It really was a wonderful 10 days in New Zealand for that 30 seconds… I feel like things could have been so much worse, you know what I mean? That’s all I’m going to say about it."

And that's all you get, besides a brief follow-up from Valkyrae that "It’s not even Minecraft. It’s not even their fault," that her cameo was cut. Still, it's worth remembering that last September, Valkyrae made headlines when she called out Minecraft Movie star Jason Momoa for behaviour she claims she saw on set.

PC Gamer – 17 September 2024: In a chat with JasonTheWeen, YouTuber Rachell 'Valkyrae' Hofstetter—who boasts a cameo in the upcoming flick—said her experience working with the star was less than stellar.
Asked about her "worst celebrity or streamer experience," Valkyrae immediately leapt to her Minecraft cameo. "I would have to say Jason Momoa," she answered. "I just saw him, like, mistreat some of the crew and it was pretty disappointing."
According to Valkyrae, Momoa got "really mad" at the crew after "a very emotional scene, so maybe he was still in character." She says he was "really mad at them that they weren't doing something right, like setting up the shot and stuff. He was just angry, like really mad and, like, yelling.
"So I was like, man, this is not a good work environment. Like, I would not be happy working under these conditions… so yeah, I would probably have to say that was probably the worst, like, celebrity thing I've seen."

Could that have poisoned the relationship between Valkyrae and Warner Bros, leading to her cameo getting axed from the final film? It seems likely to me, especially with the streamer seemingly relieved to have dodged some kind of legal bullet. But that's speculation on my part: Valkyrae's not saying and I doubt Warner Bros will be enthusiastic to dredge the matter back up either.

China to Reduce Imports of Hollywood Films as Trade War Escalates

The China Film Administration (CFA), the body that handles film releases and quotas in the country, released a statement on Thursday in response to a reporter’s question about whether the Trump administration’s increasing tariffs on China would impact imports of American films. A spokesperson for the CFA said that the U.S. government had made the wrong move to “abuse tariffs on China” and that the situation “will inevitably further reduce the domestic audience’s favorability towards American films.”

The statement added, “We will follow market rules, respect the audience’s choice, and moderately reduce the number of American films imported. China is the world’s second-largest film market. We have always adhered to a high level of opening up to the outside world and will introduce more excellent films from the world to meet market demand.”

The move to reduce American film imports comes as Trump increased tariffs on China to 125 percent on Wednesday. China hit back on Thursday with tariffs of 84 percent on American goods.

On Tuesday, reports from China suggested that the country was mulling a ban or a reduction on the number of Hollywood films. Speculation had increased after two widely followed Chinese public figures — one an editor for a state media outlet, the other the son of a former party chief — released identical outlines on Tuesday of countermeasures Chinese authorities were said to be considering in response to Trump’s tariffs, and their outlines included a ban or reduction of imported American films.

Under the most recent trade agreements, China committed to releasing 34 foreign films per year under revenue-share terms, with overseas studios permitted to a 25 percent share of ticket sales.

Even with Hollywood’s diminished state in China, the film business is one sector where the U.S. maintains a sizable trade surplus with its geopolitical rival, as Chinese films, despite their enormous earnings in the home market, have made little headway with mainstream North American moviegoers.

A super dog can’t be stupid and reckless on a world with fragile humans.

JG wants everything to be about him. He doesn’t care. He just wants to say in interviews that Krypto is based on his dog. He seems to have given Krypto a bigger role than SM. The dog seems completely clueless. lol He doesn’t know his own strength. He won’t know how weak humans are.

Forced, juvenile humor. So much BS squeezed into the new added footage alone.

The badly CGI’ed robots say don’t thank us. They’re emotionless or some BS. Then one get excited, because SM looked at her. lol Advance alien robots don’t have a high-tech stretcher to carry Kal who turned into a froze statue that remained straight while being carried. lol And isn’t SM a name that humans gave Kal? Why do the ridiculous robots call him SM? They’re there to serve Kal El.

The way Krypto behaves and the way SM lies in the snow after Krypto pulls his leg is so cartoonish, ridiculous and annoying. All that unnecessary crap for some forced humor.

It looked fine in the first trailer. The longer trailer just ruined it.

Maybe SM25 is a stupid comedy. Since when do dogs jump on their parent’s back like that? Dogs can sense when something’s wrong. They know when their father or mother is behaving differently or is sick. SM is bleeding and in severe pain. Krypto should smell the blood and hear the agonizing breathing miles away. He’s a super dog.

Apparently, Krypto has the same powers as SM. It would have been awsome to see him use his X-ray vision. Instead of dragging SM, he should have hold his cape and fly him home. SM is too badly wounded to be dragged on a hard ground full of bumps.

I also hear that Metamorpho might be the one who hurt SM. His body can create kryptonite. If SM was exposed to kryptonite, he won’t have any powers. Every bump on the ground will hurt like hell.

I live in a Christian country. I get the free days from the Christmas holiday, but I don’t celebrate it.

More free days. Easter next week.

So does David.

Nobody will cast an ugly actor to play SM on the big screen. lol

No, Matt Reeves is Not in A “Chadwick Boseman Situation"

I can’t believe I’m even writing this, but I’ve received a bunch of emails and messages concerning this story, and it’s now spreading like wildfire all over the internet.

In a video posted on Thursday afternoon, the infamous Grace Randolph weighed in on the reason why Matt Reeves has been taking so long to submit his “The Batman: Part II” script to Warner Bros.

If you knew what Matt Reeves was dealing with, you'd leave him alone. I mean, it's not a Chadwick Boseman situation, but it's close. And I hope it doesn’t turn into that. You should leave Matt Reeves alone.

Randolph’s cryptic statement, comparing Reeves’ situation to the late Chadwick Boseman, who passed away from cancer in 2020, has resulted in YouTube being chock-full of videos saying Reeves is dying. This immediately drew criticism from fans and creators alike.

The situation Reeves is in has been well-known around the industry. It’s a serious family matter that he’s been dealing with. Although well-intentioned, Randolph’s wording was misguided. Reeves is not dying. So, let’s stop writing our eulogies for the poor guy. He’s not ill.

Beau DeMayo, the former showrunner of X-Men ’97, did not hold back in condemning Randolph. He posted: “This is abhorrent behavior, and the delight in her voice as she reports it is just gross. Find another way to make a living, @gracerandolph and have some respect. Creators aren’t characters in your podcasting fanfic for likes. Hope you got your dopamine kick from his struggle.”

Some on social media have argued that Reeves or DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn should perhaps issue a statement that sets the record straight and ends the speculation. Gosh, that’s total bullsh*t. If it weren’t for Randolph’s comments, this story would have never come to light, but now that it has, there’s no going back. She should never have said anything.

Maya Hawke Says Some Producers Cast Based on Actors’ ‘Collective’ Instagram Following: ‘If You Have Over This Many Followers, You Can Get the Movie Funded’

Hawke said she knows several “smart directors” who’ve encountered producers that demand a benchmark number of Instagram followers from their cast before moving forward with a project.

“I’m talking about deleting my Instagram and [some directors are] like, ‘Just so you know when I’m casting a movie with some producers, they hand me a sheet with the amount of collective followers I have to get from the cast,'” Hawke recalled. “‘So if you delete your Instagram and I lose those followers, understand these are the kinds of people I need to cast around you.'”

Scarlett Johansson Turned Down Studio’s Request to Join Instagram for ‘Jurassic World’ Publicity

Scarlett Johansson is one of the rare Hollywood A-listers to not have a social media footprint on major platforms like X and Instagram, and it doesn’t seem like that’s about to change.

“I mean, even today, I got an email from Universal [Pictures], and they’re like, ‘Hey, would you consider joining Instagram in tandem with the release of “Jurassic World: Rebirth?”‘ Johansson said. “I get a lot of pressure to join social media. Trump orders 100% tariff on foreign-made movies to save 'dying' Hollywood

Trump said he was authorizing the relevant government agencies, such as the Department of Commerce, to immediately begin the process of imposing a 100% tariff on all films produced abroad that are then sent into the United States.

He added: "WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!"

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said on X: "We're on it."

It was unclear if the tariffs would apply to movies on streaming services as well as those shown in theaters, or if they would be calculated based on production costs or box office revenue.

Movie and TV production has been exiting Hollywood for years, heading to locations with tax incentives that make filming cheaper.

Governments around the world have increased credits and cash rebates to attract productions and capture a greater share of the $248 billion that Ampere Analysis predicts will be spent globally in 2025 to produce content.

All major media companies, including Walt Disney (DIS.N), Netflix (NFLX.O), and Universal Pictures (CMCSA.O), film overseas in countries such as Canada and Britain.

On Monday, leaders in Australia and New Zealand responded to Trump's tariff announcement by saying they would advocate for their local industries.

The British media and entertainment union Bectu called on the government to move swiftly to protect the country's "vital" film industry.

"These tariffs, coming after COVID and the recent slowdown, could deal a knock-out blow to an industry that is only just recovering," said Bectu head Philippa Childs.

She said they would also threaten tens of thousands jobs of freelancers who make films in the UK.

In 2023, about half of the spending by U.S. producers on movie and TV projects with budgets of more than $40 million went outside the U.S., according to research firm ProdPro.

Film and television production has fallen by nearly 40% over the last decade in Hollywood's home city of Los Angeles, according to FilmLA, a non-profit that tracks the region's production.

The January wildfires accelerated concerns that producers may look outside Los Angeles, and that camera operators, costume designers, sound technicians and other behind-the-scenes workers may move out of town rather than try to rebuild in their neighborhoods.

A ProdPro survey of executives found California was the sixth most preferred place to film in the next two years, behind Toronto, Britain, Vancouver, Central Europe and Australia.

Hollywood producers and labor unions have been urging Governor Gavin Newsom to boost the state's tax incentives to better compete with other locations.

Former senior Commerce official William Reinsch, a senior fellow with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said retaliation against Trump's film tariffs would be devastating.

"The retaliation will kill our industry. We have a lot more to lose than to gain," he said, adding it would be difficult to make a national security or national emergency case for movies.

Meet The Distortus Rex: Jurassic World Rebirth’s Mutant Is ‘Like The T-Rex Designed By HR Giger’

Rebirth will introduce all-new unholy oddities. Make way for Distortus Rex, or the ‘D-Rex’.

“It’s kind of like if the T-Rex was designed by H.R. Giger, and then that whole thing had sex with a Rancor,” director Gareth Edwards tells Empire of the mysterious beast, glimpsed in the trailers. With six limbs, teeth galore, and a ravenous appetite, you’ve never seen something quite like the D-Rex before. “It’s a design that I was really happy with,” says the director. “I’d like to buy the toy of it when it comes out.” And like the greatest movie monsters, it’s meant to inspire pity as well as terror. “It’s as if another animal has been wrapped around the T-Rex,” says ILM’s David Vickery. “Gareth wanted us to feel sorry for it as well as terrified, because its deformities have caused it some pain, and there’s an encumbrance to it.”

And that’s not all. As well as the D-Rex, we’ll meet the winged Mutadons, “a combination of a pterosaur and a Raptor,” says screenwriter David Koepp, who previously penned both Jurassic Park and The Lost World. “Those came from my strange mind,” he tells Empire of Rebirth’s mutants. “We saw in some of the previous Jurassic World movies that their experiments made dinosaurs bigger, meaner, scarier, and it occurred to me and Steven [Spielberg] that those can’t all have gone well.” Sometimes, life shouldn’t have found a way.

‘Harry Potter’ Series Is ‘Not Secretly Being Infused’ With J.K. Rowling’s Anti-Trans Beliefs, Says HBO Boss: ‘If You Want to Debate Her, You Can Go on Twitter’

“The decision to be in business with J.K. Rowling is not new for us. We’ve been in business for 25 years,” Bloys said, nodding to the mega-successful “Harry Potter” film franchise that spawned eight movies, grossed $7.7 billion worldwide and launched spinoffs, video games and more.

Bloys was asked if Rowling’s views on the trans community made him worried for the show, to which he continued: “We already have a show on HBO from her called ‘C.B. Strike’ that we do with the BBC. It’s pretty clear that those are her personal, political views. She’s entitled to them. ‘Harry Potter’ is not secretly being infused with anything. And if you want to debate her, you can go on Twitter.”

HBO confirmed last month the first round of cast members for the new “Harry Potter” series, including John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, [...]. Lithgow told The Times of London afterwards that he was surprised by the backlash that followed. A friend of the actor’s sent him an open letter asking him to walk away from the show due to Rowling’s involvement.

“I thought, ‘Why is this a factor at all?’ I wonder how J.K. Rowling has absorbed it,” Lithgow said. “I suppose at a certain point I’ll meet her, and I’m curious to talk to her.”

When asked if the backlash has made him reconsider the role, Lithgow said, “Oh, heavens no.”

Disney Pushes Next Two ‘Avengers’ Movies; Dates ‘The Dog Stars’ & ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

Marvel Studios is pushing back the release of its next two Avengers films, directed by the Russo Brothers. Avengers: Doomsday has moved from May 1 to December 18, 2026. Meanwhile, Avengers: Secret Wars is moving from May 7 to December 17, 2027.

Insiders noted that these two films are among the biggest ever made, and the delays simply allow more time to execute on a gargantuan vision. Disney/Marvel elected for December dates, given the success they’ve had in the holiday corridor with titles like Spider-Man: No Way Home. Avengers: Doomsday is in production now.

Today, Disney also shared updates on a pair of high-profile titles from 20th Century Studios: Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars, starring Jacob Elordi, and The Devil Wears Prada 2. The Dog Stars will be released on March 27, 2026, with The Devil Wears Prada 2 coming out on May 1, 2026. Then, there’s an IMAX/3D re-release of James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water, which is set for October 3, 2025 — ahead of threequel Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19, which is expected to do gangbusters business, on the heels of a historically successful first two films.

Superman Creator's Estate Reportedly Files New Lawsuit To Block James Gunn's Movie From Releasing In Certain Countries

James Gunn's Superman movie is facing another lawsuit as the Man of Steel co-creator's estate has reportedly filed a new lawsuit that could affect the DC Universe movie's release. […] While the previous Superman movie lawsuit was dismissed in April, Warner Bros. Discovery is facing another round of litigation.

[On April 25, U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman dismissed the lawsuit, finding that the federal court lacked jurisdiction over the estate's claims under foreign copyright law.]

In Matthew Belloni's latest Puck Newsletter, Eriq Gardner writes that attorney Marc Toberoff has reportedly refiled his copyright case, on behalf of the estate of Superman co-creator Joe Shuster, in New York state court. Toberoff is additionally seeking an injunction to block Warner Bros. from "exploiting Superman" in the U.K., Ireland, Canada, and Australia - where the estate is disputing copyright ownership due to the countries' specific copyright laws.

[In certain foreign territories, copyright for Superman reverted to the estates of co-creators Joseph Shuster and Jerry Siegel after 25 years of their deaths. This occurred in 2017 and 2021 in various countries. Specifically, the estates reclaimed rights in the U.K., Ireland, Canada, and Australia. MOS was released in 2013.]

According to Gardner, Warner Bros. Discovery had been ordered by the New York Supreme Court to "submit opposition papers by Friday," before appearing in court on June 4 where they would have to explain why an injunction shouldn’t be granted. At the time of this story's publication, Warner Bros. Discovery has not commented. Gardner writes that the suit is "theoretically jeopardizing the global rollout" of Gunn's Superman movie.

Marvel Orders Emergency Reshoots for Fantastic Four Ending (Rumor)

A big rumor hits the net that offers Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are going through emergency reshoots on The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is happening only two months away from the film’s release.

The reshoots follow Feige’s failed rebranding of Thunderbolts to New Avengers teasing the Fantastic Four in the post-credit scene. Thunderbolts is currently bombing at the box office, much like what happened with Captain America: Brave New World, which ties into the FF reshoots rumors below, as well.

The reshoots also follow the less-than-well-received Fantastic Four trailer, revealing the first look at Julia Garner as Silver Surfer. All of this is supposed to lead into Avengers: Doomsday, so Marvel needs a hit with FF this summer.

ZODAK, BOW and NETOSSA! Oh My! She-Ra characters and more (King Hiss?) seen on the “Masters of the Universe” Movie Set!

The new “Masters of the Universe” Movie coming from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films has been filming for a while now.

And while some amazing images have thrilled fans recently featuring exciting new set pieces like a partial Castle Grayskull… and what appears to be a gigantic Eternian Map… what is equally thrilling is seeing the character illustrations depicted around that map.

Yes, thanks to the very keen eye of the awesome community member @tuskador1981, here are the characters identified circling that map… many of them being She-Ra characters! Check it out:

  1. BOW
  2. NETOSSA
  3. ZODAK (2002 “200X” Series)
  4. KING HISS and PERFUMA?

Seeing illustrations of She-Ra characters is certainly surprising considering there is usually a rights divide between the He-Man and She-Ra rosters.

Are these illustrations a sign that the new “Masters of the Universe” Movie currently in production has access to both franchises? We can only hope!

Filming for “Masters of the Universe” is currently underway with the movie scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide on June 5th, 2026.

Beloved Marvel Actor Turns Down MCU Return Over Lower Salary Offer

The MCU is one of the biggest properties owned by Disney, so it’s no surprise that the cast members that help keep it afloat would feel like they should be appropriately compensated.

At the very least, they probably expect to be paid a consistent amount, but Disney is said to have offered this actor “half” of his salary from the first season of a Disney Plus series he starred in.

As shared in an interview with High Performance:

“They asked me to do Season 2, and they offered me half the money,” actor Jeremy Renner shared regarding the Disney Plus series Hawkeye.

“I’m like, ‘Well, it’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money, and eight months of my time, essentially, to do it for half the amount,” Renner continued.

As fans know, following the release of the first season of Hawkeye, Renner was seriously injured in a snow plow accident. Fortunately, Renner has since recovered, but he was in critical condition when the incident first occurred. Now Renner hints with a bit of dark humor that it could be a reason for the studio’s lowball offer:

“I’m like, ‘I’m sorry? Why? Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season.”

According to Renner, the lowball offer wasn’t the result of Marvel Studios, and he doesn’t even feel like it’s Disney to blame either. Instead, Renner blames “the penny pinchers” and “the accountants” for coming up with such a low number.

“This is not Marvel, mind you. This is like, just Disney, not even really Disney. It’s just the penny pinchers, the accountants. I told them to go fly a kite. I mean, just at the at the insult offer. So we didn’t see eye to eye on it,” he explained.

For those who hope to see him return as Hawkeye, however, the door is not closed. In fact, Renner emphasizes that he didn’t even ask for more money, he simply wanted to be paid the same salary from the first season of the MCU Disney Plus series. As such, we could see him make a comeback sooner or later:

“Sadly, I still love the character. I’d still love to do it, but I I had to defend myself. I didn’t ask for any more money, mind you. Just pay me what I made made the first season. So it’s all disheartening that that didn’t happen, but that’s fine. I’m happy to let that go, because my body’s probably thanking me, time and time again, that I’m not doing it right now. But we’ll see.”

https://www.screengeek.net/2025/05/07/marvel-actor-turns-down-mcu-return/

This is going to be a very funny summer. Post credit scenes are promoted more than the films. Studio shills are lying about ticket sales and production budgets. Goonies and minions are at each other throats more than ever. Heck, all this drama seems more entertaining than F4 and SM25. The former looks boring and annoying while the latter looks boring and cheap.

Anyway, how many times have I said to not race swap characters? Well, like a trillion times. But nobody listened. On the contrary, non-white folks would tell me to shut up. It’s easy for me to talk, because I’m “white passing”.

Well, let’s start with the race swapped Snape and Hermione in the new Harry Potter show. The same non-white folks, who used to tell me that they want to see people who look like them in films and shows ––we need more representation, we need to be more inclusive–– are now all up in arms about race swapped Snape and Hermione.

Hilarious! I think the Harry Potter peeps did that on purpose. Here’s your representation and inclusiveness. Enjoy. I hope they don’t change Snape’s and Hermione’s story. You see, nobody cares if a white character does, let’s say, specific things to another white character. Is a completely different thing when a white character does those specific things to a non-white character.

Now about the race swapped Black Panther. The same non-white folks, who used to tell me to look pass a performer’s skin color ––it’s about embodying the character, the ability to play the character convincingly–– are now all bent out of shape about the white, blue-eyed blond Black Panther with Caucasian face features. I don’t think Ryan Gosling is white enough to play this “Aryan” character.

Marvel fans erupt after new Black Panther is revealed as white

The premiere issue of Marvel Knights: The World To Come dropped Wednesday and introduced a new character named Ketema, whom T’Challa, prince of the fictional African kingdom of Wakanda and the original Black Panther, refers to as his son, according to BleedingCool.com.

The comic reveals that T’Challa fathered Ketema with his early love interest Monica Lynne, a character pulled from earlier comic arcs.

But in a major shakeup, Ketema grows to resent his father and ultimately challenges him for the throne. After defeating T’Challa in battle, Ketema removes his mask—only to reveal blond hair, blue eyes, and distinctly Caucasian features.

'Lol stop letting these non-Black people touch Black Panther. They do silly stuff like this,”' one critic commented—prompting another to respond: 'The writer is Black.’

Still, one disgruntled fan claimed: 'If there would be any writer who would try to give the Black Panther mantle to a white person, of course it would be Christopher Priest—the man who made it his job to shove white characters into Wakanda’s mythos lol.'

Netflix Reportedly Cancels New Movies In Fan-Favorite Franchise

Netflix had major plans to launch a big-budget film franchise that could rival the likes of Star Wars. However, with the release of only two films, it looks like Netflix is now canceling their plans to make any other movies in this fan-favorite franchise.

While the films do have dedicated fans, it looks like the fanbase just isn’t big enough, as Netflix is reportedly uninterested in making any additional sequels. With hopes that it could have been their own Star Wars, they must’ve been banking on a bigger widespread commercial appeal, and they seemingly just haven’t reached it.

“We outlined movies 3, 4, 5, and 6… very detailed outlines,”
Johnstad revealed, referring to potential additional films in the Rebel Moon franchise. While they had plans for a total of six films, however, he continues to explain that the Rebel Moon series seems to be dead with only two releases.

Fact Check: Are Fantastic Four Ticket Sales Crashing Websites?

[…] when actually checking ticket sites and sales, it reveals the sites are up and running fine, and that in reality, not a lot of Fantastic Four tickets have been sold (yet?).

Worth a mention is that the claim comes from the same X account who tweeted trans actor Hunter Schafer is being eyed to play Princess Zelda in Nintendo’s upcoming live-action Zelda movie, which looks to be fake news as well.

There’s also a community note on the tweet that states, “Ticket sites are not crashing and are running just fine.”

Update: It’s also being claimed by other accounts that the AMC app crashed as a result of high demand. However, if the app really crashed, it doesn’t look to be due to high demand, as again, checking ticket sales reveals not a lot have been sold.

Update #2: People are citing “down detector” as proof that the movie websites went down because of Fantastic Four ticket sales. However, it shows only 12 people reported it, which doesn’t actually mean the site/s went down.

As I tweeted, it could also be possible the account is also a Marvel shill account trying to create fake FOMO in the hopes fans will scoop up tickets ASAP for fear of missing out. Looks desperate. And it doesn’t look to be exactly working.

Fantastic Four Sells Most Tickets of 2025? But Theaters Are Empty

Fandango tweeted out that Fantastic Four sold more tickets in its first day than any other film this year. Well, okay. So how many is that? We don’t know.

We also don’t know whether selling “more tickets in its first day than any other film this year” even means anything. It’s really just a marketing ploy.

The shills keep shilling

Speaking of ploys, the shill sites are still running with the BS that movie ticket sites crashed due to the “high demand” of ticket sales for Fantastic Four.

Again, as I went over yesterday, like 12 Marvel shillboys “reported” sites were down on DownDetector. All the shill sites followed suit and ran with it and still are. That’s where you get your news from? Hilarious.

I can’t help but wonder if it’s going to be Captain Marvel all over again where fake ticket sales are being reported. Recall how social media users posted images of empty theaters, yet the apps showed tickets had been sold. How’d it work out for The Marvels?

Maybe part of Marvel’s marketing is to buy tickets to its own movie? My buddies in Hollywood told me that managers of movie theaters back in the day used to artificially inflate the numbers of tickets sold.

Regarding Fantastic Four tickets, are they so high in demand that they’re breaking ticket sites? More than 24 hours later, the first Thursday RPX screening for Fantastic Four I bought tickets to, sold maybe two more sets of seats. The theater is still empty.

The 7pm IMAX is pretty full, though not sold out. The 10:15PM IMAX, however, is a ghost town, as is the 8:40PM RPX. Friday? IMAX 7PM barely any seats sold. Same for RPX.

Minecraft had that viral marketing campaign, which Fantastic Four certainly will not. Minecraft was also a lot of fun and and already had a huge audience. Marvel’s Fantastic Four looks pretty boring, TBH, and follows Marvel’s big bombs of Thunderbolts and Captain America: Brave New World. It also looks to be another M She U movie, which fans can’t stand.

Would You Pay $400 Million for This Movie?

Last year, documents filed by the Superman production team with the Ohio government seeking incentives listed the gross budget of the highly anticipated July film as $363.8 million. When that number was reported, director James Gunn — who also runs DC Studios — lambasted the article. “How in the world do they think they know what our budget is?” he wrote on social media. In recent days, DC suggested the budget is a net $225 million after incentives and tax breaks.

Yet one longtime financier says the $363 million figure isn’t incorrect. And sources say DC and its parent could spend as much as $200 million on the global marketing campaign, compared with the usual $150 million for an all-audience summer tentpole. It wouldn’t be a surprise, since Superman kicks off the Gunn era and needs to work at the box office. Either way, between the production budget and marketing, it’s certain to land in the $400 million club.

“There’s no way to defend these budgets, because when you get into the $700 million to $900 million break-even point in regards to box office and ancillary revenue, it doesn’t make any sense,” says a veteran financier.

James Gunn Dismissed $363M ‘Superman’ Budget as False — Now a THR Source Says It’s Real

James Gunn can be pretty polarizing on social media, especially for fans who find his constant engagement with critics and over-explaining of creative decisions exhausting.

Gunn frequently responds to rumors, debunks leaks, and offers behind-the-scenes details—sometimes to the point of spoiling surprises or fueling unnecessary drama.

One of the many things Gunn has “debunked” is the leaked budget for his upcoming “Superman.” He swears it’s $130M cheaper than what a government filing stated.

Warner Bros. and DC have been telling the press that the film’s budget was $225M. However, if you recall, an article published last year in the Columbus Business Journal—citing data from the official Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit website—reported that production on “Superman” actually cost $363M.

Gunn was well aware of the leak and took to social media to deny the reported figure, even going so far as to suggest that the official filing might have been “faked.”

I don’t know if it’s faked or if it’s just some weird form an assistant in the Cleveland office filled out putting random stuff in the blanks.

Now, THR has spoken to a “longtime financier” who claims the $363M figure is far more accurate than the $225M number that Gunn and Warner Bros. are pushing to the press.

Honestly, who should we believe—a figure filed with the government, likely under penalty of perjury, or the studio’s PR spin? It’s hard to imagine they’d lie on a tax filing. Here’s what the official original tax document stated:

Superman Legacy’ filed a tax credit application for $36,972,289 and the full production budget is 363,845,386.00. They have to provide all of this information due to Section 122.85 of the Ohio Code.

‘Superman’ Faced Major Changes After Test Screenings — Reshoots, Less Humor, Shorter Runtime, New Editor & Composer | May 27, 2025

After today’s reveal of the “Superman” runtime, the real story might be what’s happening behind the scenes.

Sources close to the production say the film received a mixed reception at earlier test screening, triggering a cascade of changes. Gunn’s original cut apparently leaned heavier on humor—something the execs weren’t entirely sold on. In response, several comedic beats were cut, trimming down both tone and runtime.

More intriguingly, one of the film’s editors was quietly removed mid-process, leading to a slight reworking of the film’s structure. This was somewhat of a “tweak,” and signaled a slight shift in how the story was being presented. Some key sequences were shuffled, and minor scenes were added during recent reshoots.

The music department wasn’t spared either. A second composer was brought in late in the game to reshape the score, suggesting the tone may have been in flux as recently as a few weeks ago. It’s all part of what one insider described as a “slight course correction.”

Altogether, about 25 minutes of footage has been trimmed from earlier versions, giving the final cut a leaner feel.

Whether these eleventh-hour changes will pay off remains to be seen […]

Did SUPERMAN Beat THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS' First Day In Ticket Pre-Sales? Here's Which Movie Triumphed

Tickets for Superman went on sale yesterday, and following reports that both it and The Fantastic Four: First Steps broke records during their respective first days of pre-sales, we know many of you will be eager to know which of them came out on top.

According to box office analyst Luiz Fernando, Superman's first 24 hours (including sales for Prime preview screenings on Tuesday) were 1.1x ahead of The Fantastic Four: First Steps in the same time frame.

It's a small but not entirely insignificant difference, and it's hard not to wonder whether the chance to see the movie a few days earlier is what gave Superman the edge.

As Fernando explains, "Let’s keep in mind that [The Fantastic Four] kicked off pre-sales 50 days earlier, while [Superman] did it 30 days earlier, and that also plays a factor here. It’s easier to convince someone to buy a ticket to see a film in one month than justify to someone, let alone casuals, why should they buy now a ticket for a film coming out in 2 months."

Superman currently has the edge over The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but we've seen many superhero movies open big, only to plummet during their second weekends.
