Does he know they will use CGI to turn him into Red Hulk? Does he even know there's a red Hulk?
I don't like the return of RDJ. Apparently, We should play dumb and pretend it's the first time we're seeing his face in the MCU.
That's so awesome and creepy. Perfect for a selfie.
That's one of the few scenes that put a smile on my face while watching DeadP3.
Interesting. Some think Rachel is a troublemaker. Maybe she is. But in this case, I think GG started the drama. She posted a pic with Rachel on her IG in a way that cuts off Rachel's head. Two days later, Rachel is screaming "free Palestine" on X. Coincidence?
IMO, there's one more problem with the leaked story. Another thing about SM is that he was designed in a way that nobody knows who he is or where he lives. He can do hero stuff on all levels, because nobody knows his nationality. If he intervenes in an international conflict, nobody can say he's (secretly) working for the US government.
The same can't be said for the other heroes. Everybody knows who Engineer, Mr. Terrific, HawkG and GreenL are. If they decide to do hero stuff like SM, they can't do anything that has political meaning. Since peeps know they used to work for a US corporation or for the US government, the government of other countries might always be suspicious of them.
And that's how you will increase the odds of your kid being born with features that you don’t like. Gigi's mom bullied Bella into fixing her Middle Eastern nose.
I agree. Wolverine is too Hugh Jackman. HC should play something else. I wouldn't mind if he's a super villain this time. One with a long storyline.
I think, if you want everything, you have to go to Disney Florida. But screw Disney. I'm excited about Universal's plan.
Bad news, bad news and more bad news. Only Godzilla and Dune were a BO success.

DRPK' new scoop:‘
SUPERMAN’ Is A Complete Shift To Hardcore Sci-Fi And Fantasy, The Exact Opposite Of Man Of Steel
“It’s Set In A World Different From Ours And Far Removed The DCEU. Heroes Have Been Around For Ages, And We’ll See How It Affected The World’s History And Shaped The DCU”
The DCU Will Feature Projects Set Across Different Timelines, Not Just Present Day
SM25 is the opposite of MOS, because it's hardcore sci-fi fantasy?
MOS is a hardcore sci-fi (superhero) fantasy. Life on Krypton, spaceships, spacesuits, phantom zone, flying aliens. So far, SM25 looks like a cheap comedy set in the 70's about a man wearing a colorful ill-fitting rubber suit with his red undies on full display. The hilarious part is the grown man in the ridiculous suit.
The T-Rex or a variant of it is probably the baddie.
A very stupid plan. They think it worked with Hugh Jackman, so it will work with RDJ too. But it's two different situation.
I hope we get a sequel. Alien Romulus actually feels like part of the first three alien films.
CE looking like CE. lol
Are they passive-aggressive or just aggressive? lol
Geeks are happy when they see one of the most powerful superheroes save a cat out of a tree, hug kids, help a grandma cross the street and do other simple stuff that puny humans can do too. Makes you wonder why he has powers.

The hashtag #DontStreamOnMax surfaced on X on Monday ahead of the annual stockholder meeting for Max’s parent company, Warner Bros Discovery in an attempt to boycott the platform. Launched by a fan collective known as Adopt Our Crew, the campaign aims to protest recent actions by the streaming service. Since its inception on June 3, the hashtag has gained significant traction on X, Instagram, and Tumblr, accumulating 22,000+ posts. Max, previously known as HBO Max, offers a wide range of content including Max Originals. Unfortunately, it has faced criticism for its handling of certain shows, which ultimately led to this particular boycott.
The show Our Flag Means Death, a period romantic comedy series about pirates, inspired the name “Adopt Our Crew," the collective behind the #DontStreamOnMax hashtag. When the show’s showrunner announced in January that it wouldn’t return for a third season, fans rallied to form the collective. Their initial goal was to keep the fandom strong and advocate for the series to be picked up elsewhere. However, the group’s mission has since expanded beyond this single show.
Members of Adopt Our Crew have expressed their commitment to elevating queer stories and addressing broader issues of representation in media. They cited frustration with the cancellation or shelving of many shows and movies, particularly those featuring LGBTQ characters. According to the 2024 Where We Are on TV report from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), 36% of all LGBTQ characters on television shows won’t be returning — with a notable number from Max shows.
"Originally launched in early 2024 after Max gutted their slate of original series, canceling five critically acclaimed shows: Warrior, Our Flag Means Death, Julia, Rap Sh!t, and The Flight Attendant, the #DontStreamOnMax campaign seeks to hold WBD and Max accountable and draw attention to the fact that the company is increasingly prioritizing existing IP and platforming a transphobic creator over shows that authentically depict queer and POC characters," the letter reads.
The campaign is not the first instance of fans rallying to save beloved shows. Social media has previously played a crucial role in giving fans hope to revive canceled shows. Similarly, the Adopt Our Crew collective aims to highlight how Warner Bros Discovery’s and Max’s actions alienate audiences. Overall, this could potentially impact subscriber numbers and profits.
In their press release, Adopt Our Crew stated their goal to raise awareness among stockholders, subscribers, consumers, and the general public about the negative impact of recent decisions by Warner Bros. Discovery and Max. As the hashtag continues to gain momentum, it remains to be seen how Max will respond. Representatives from Max have not yet commented on the campaign, leaving many questions about the future direction of the streaming service and its commitment to diverse storytelling.

It looks like nobody who's somebody wants to work for WBD/DC. The article above might explain some things.
Mens Journal: Jon Hamm Approached to Play DC Superhero Green Lantern
The actor, best-known for his role as brilliant advertising executive Don Draper in Mad Men, was approached by Warner Bros. to star in Green Lantern. He turned them down, however, as he details in a new interview.
“You passed on Green Lantern, did you not?” asks The Hollywood Reporter. “That was one I definitely didn’t want to do,” Hamm replies. “But I’ve pitched myself for a couple parts of the Marvel universe, I don’t want to say what exactly, but it was a part of a comic book that I really liked. I was like, ‘Are you going to do this story?’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, we’re actually thinking of that.’ I go, ‘Good. I should be the guy.’
The BO is $315,113,801. We're almost at 4 x $80M. We should get a sequel.
You're probably the only person who thinks JL is harmless like a puppy. He might be. But he doesn't look like he is.

$093,919,877 Challengers
$180,978,355 The Fall Guy
$172,436,244 Furiosa's
The... idiots writing for certain outlets never went to school, because they don’t know elementary school math. Those idiots made a big deal when Morbius with a $75M PB made $162,759,437 worldwide. That’s 2.17x its PB. Only Challengers came close to making twice its PB.
A pedophile like JG would definitely love the idea of adults and kids. He seems to like including kids in his films.
You forgot Trap ($30M PB - $80M worldwide). It needs... $10M more. South Korea is its last market. It will open there Sept. 18th.
Beetlejuice2 ($100M PB) is doing fine domestically, but not internationally.
Joker2 is supposed to be WBD's $1B film, but it's tracking dropped 44% to $70M... following mixed reviews. Joker1 opened with $96M in 2019. So... will the... DC-verse curse affect elsewhere films like Joker2 and TBM2 too?
AV Club: James McAvoy says Joaquin Phoenix "ditched" Split two weeks before filming
...an anecdote that popped out of James McAvoy’s recent (very charming!) appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused, tied to his upcoming Speak No Evil, where he notes that he got cast in M. Night Shayamalan’s 2015 thriller Split just two weeks before shooting was set to start—because Phoenix had “ditched” the part.
Now, we’d previously known that Phoenix was attached, at least informally, to Shyamalan’s dissociative identity thriller at some point, before ultimately departing; it was noted when McAvoy’s casting landed in the trades. What wasn’t readily apparent at the time was that unlike some casting notices (where the deals are set in advance, but only become public knowledge once cameras are rolling), McAvoy’s arrival in the part just two weeks before shooting was scheduled to start was really two weeks: He got dropped in and started having to cook up all those characters kind of on the fly. What’s interesting is that, reading THR‘s report from the time, Phoenix sounds like he was only vaguely circling the project, which would have reunited him with his old Signs director. But McAvoy’s description makes it sound like a much more near-run thing, where Phoenix suddenly left things a little bit in the lurch: “I think he ditched it like two weeks before they started shooting. It was really last minute.”

Finally, someone says it.
DEI is being boycotted left and right. These fools forced those things and now they're being rejected. Studios and streamers want money and views. Why should I watch a show promoted as the gayest show?
Do WBD*cks have the money to make a CGI-heavy show like GL?
Few films break-even these days. Good films can be made with a lower PB. Alien-R and Bad Boys 4 are good example.

Business Insider: Warner Bros. slashed the 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' budget by $50 million, fearing it would flop. It made $264 million in two weeks
The Times reported on Sunday that discussions over cost and distribution prevented "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" from being made for over a decade. At one point, Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, wanted to release it on their streaming platform Max instead of in theaters.
Eventually, Warner Bros. co-chairs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy reached a deal with Burton that he would cut the budget from $147 million to $100 million so it could be released in theaters. The Times reported that this reduced the risk of the film failing.
The Times reported that Burton, some of the "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" producers, and stars Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, Jenna Ortega, and Catherine O'Hara eventually agreed to be paid less upfront in exchange for a larger cut of profits from the film. The film also received tax cuts and other cuts to shooting costs to lower the production budget to $99 million, The Times reported.
Matthew Belloni (Founding partner @pucknews, host @ringer The Town, @kcrw; Ex-editor @THR, entertainment lawyer):
JOKER 2 opening weekend tracking has dropped slightly from $70M last week to $68M in latest NRG report. First JOKER opened to $96M in 2019.
True. Godzilla Minus One showed it can be done,. Other big budget films that won't/didn't recoup their PB + marketing budget are Twisters ($368,927,414 – $155M) and Planet Of The Apes ($397,369,969 – $160M).

They turned Joker2 into a musical? Peeps want fresh ideas, but they don't support them.
I like that film. I can’t imagine anybody else playing those characters.
As much as I Iove seeing HC, this junket BS is annoying as hell.
The Acolyte fiasco hasn't taught them anything.
I'm so glad for WS. In the next Alien, I want to see a hybrid, like the one in Alien-R, fight one of the traditional black ones.
The marketing budget is at least $75M on top of those PB. Everything is so expensive in the entertainment industry. I guess that's the reason you don't see almost any promo for concerts.

I've only seen clips of Apes and Twisters. Apes has a lot of CGI/VFX and it was nicely done. The CGI/VFX of the first Twisters looks better than the CGI/VFX of the new Twisters. lol Where did the $155M go?
Not a damn thing. Although, I hear D+ lied about the view numbers. lol At least this time they didn't do that.
The hybrid seems much stronger. He made a hole in the automatic sliding door. The black alien never breaks the automatic sliding doors. Those doors seem pretty strong

Bounding Into Comics: Disney Tax Documents Reveal Total Production Costs For ‘The Acolyte’ Actually Amounted To Roughly $230 Million
As fans may remember, one of the most regularly-touted memes surrounding The Acolyte was the fact that the eight episode, extremely boring Star Wars series reportedly cost a whopping $180 million to produce – roughly 22.5 million per episode.
After hearing this number, many a viewer and critic had a good hearty laugh – ‘That much? For ‘The power of many, the power of one’?’
Now, imagine how much deeper those laughs would have been had the public known that the series’ true production budget actually was actually closer to $230 million._
This revelation was brought to light by That Park Place reporter Jonas J. Campbell, who was among the first individuals to take notice of a recent financial report filed with the UK government by The Acolyte‘s locally-established production company, Blue Stockings Limited.
Therein, the company reported that they spent roughly £38 million GBP in 2022 and £134 million in 2023, a total of £172 million to produce the Amandla Stenberg-led outing.
Taking into account the exchange rates as of this article’s writing, when converted to USD, this figure reveals that The Acolyte‘s cost in American dollars was not $180 million, but closer to $230 million – or approximately $28.75 million per episode [historical exchange rates seen in September 2023, Blue Stockings’ spending still amounted to $218 million].
And yet, for all this big budget spending, as viewers now know, it was practically all for naught given that the show posted absolutely terrible ratings.
According to Nielsen’s Streaming Originals Top 10 charts, while The Acolyte respectively ranked 7th and 6th in its first two weeks on air, by the time the series aired its fourth episode, it had disappeared from the charts.
Notably, the largely-rejected series was only saved from complete irrelevance by The Acolyte’s season – and now ultimately series – finale, which managed to place 10th in its premiere week with 335 million total watch minutes (notably the lowest of any Disney-era Star Wars television series finale).
No promo, high ticket price.
We will keep getting films made by committees, not filmmaker with a team of artists around them.
The Thunderbolts film doesn't seem to have anything special. Expect lots of cringe comedy. I'll skip it.

In the past couple of years, apart from Spider-Man: No Way Home, nothing has really landed like it was expected to. This means no movie that has been standalone made by Sony has managed to achieve the highest. Jared Leto starrer Morbius who ended up becoming a meme template but not a successful film, or Madame Web which went on to enter the race of tip flops (which is not a good feat to achieve). Everyone has been busy finding a problem that has plagued the studios’ efforts to make a successful movie. It was recently when Dakota Johnson spoke of the committee presiding over movies.
Turns out she is not the only one who feels like that because she now has a partner. Morbius director Daniel Espinosa has now opened up about why the Jared Leto starrer failed at the Box office and what led to it behind the scenes. Espinosa while being diplomatic and blaming himself too for the blunder labeling himself unfit for the part, went on to talk about how it is very difficult to make films that go through [a]committee. Read on to know exactly what he said.
Yes, Morbius director Daniel Espinosa admitted as per Deadline. I think making a movie through committee is very hard, and I felt in the end that maybe a different director would have been a better fit. I’m known amongst the studios to be a person with a lot of opinions, and maybe they were not looking for that kind of director. The comment comes right after Madame Web director [lead] Dakota Johnson recently spoke about a similar issue.
As per Comic Book Movie, Dakota Johnson had said, It's so hard to get movies made, and in these big movies that get made - and it's even starting to happen with the little ones, which is what’s really freaking me out - decisions are being made by committees, and art does not do well when it’s made by committee. Films are made by a filmmaker and a team of artists around them. But it was definitely an experience for me to make that movie. I had never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again because I don’t make sense in that world. And I know that now.
These comments do put a very bad light on Sony’s work culture. The studio is now coming up with Kraven The Hunter that stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the lead and is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The film is set to release on December 13, 2024. Before that they will also have Venom: The Last Dance aka Venom 3, the third and final movie in the standalone trilogy released on October 25. Hopes are too high and the studio needs one standalone hit to invest more [in] this universe.

Transformer One has good critics and audience score on RT and an A Cinemascore, but it opened below expectation with just $24,613,970 at #2. The worldwide gross as of Wednesday is $43,013,006. The PB is somewhere between $75M and $146M.

For The Wild Robot too. But why? Release films for kids in the summer break should be a no-brainer.
Gayest show. lol Even my gay friends think that's a weird way to promote a show.
Add Smile2. Joker was supposed to be big. I wasn't going to see it, though.
JG's pedo arse didn't have the decency to tell CR's family that he would use CR's image in the abomination that was The Flash. And when he first announced that WBD*ck bought the CR docu, he didn't have the decency to mention CR's family in his post. Outlets made a screenshot of it before he edited.
Just like JG’s shenanigans with his wife and minions on socials (lol), now he's faking being respectful to CR's fam. At the film’s Los Angeles premiere on Monday, Phillips admitted that he was nervous to go out to Gaga for the role, but she was quickly on board.
Asked if he would ever want to do a standalone film for Gaga’s character, Phillips noted, “It’s not really where this movie is headed for me. I feel like my time in the DC Universe was these two films,” after previously saying he was not interested in doing a Joker 3.

When Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy took over as co-heads of Warner Bros.’ movie studio in early June 2021, one of the first decisions they made was to move forward with a sequel to Joker, the Oscar-winning, $1 billion hit that helped redefine the heights a comic book movie could reach.
Virtually all the key deals were already put in place by their predecessor, Toby Emmerich, with A-list director Todd Phillips and star Joaquin Phoenix getting $20 million paydays and the film landing a rich net budget of $190 million (the first film cost $55 million). Phillips is a huge asset for Warner, his home studio.
One small outstanding matter was Lady Gaga’s perk package. Within weeks, the papers were signed — her pay was $12 million — and she officially joined Joker: Folie à Deux.
Abdy and De Luca could have said no to making the film, but they would have been the laughing stocks of Hollywood, considering the astonishing success of Joker and its record-shattering ride at the global box office, where it ranked as the top-grossing R-rated film of all time until Deadpool & Wolverine came along. But over the Oct. 4-6 weekend, everyone at Warners, including the executive duo, were left reeling as Folie à Deux collapsed in its box office debut with a $37.8 million domestic opening after becoming the first comic book movie in history to receive a D CinemaScore. Phillips, according to one source, spent the weekend in seclusion on a ranch property he owns.
Domestically, Folie à Deux opened well behind DC’s 2023 The Flash ($55 million) and Marvel Studios’ The Marvels’ ($46.1 million), both of which were major bombs. It also came in behind Sony’s relatively inexpensive Morbius ($39 million).
“It is complete audience rejection,” says one source close to the film.
Overseas, Folie à Deux came in at an estimated $81 million, in line with expectations but still notably behind the first film.
While it is not the lowest North American opening for a pic based on a DC character, Joker: Folie à Deux is major stumble. Yet numerous sources tell THR that there’s no studio head in Hollywood — save perhaps for Sony Pictures’ Tom Rothman — who would have turned down making a sequel to a film that was both a commercial and critical hit. To boot, Abdy and De Luca were under orders by Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav to fill a bare cupboard after the studio’s Project Popcorn disaster, which alienated talent by sending its entire 2021 slate day-and-date to streaming service Max. Zaslav also is keen to exploit the company’s IP more fully.
“It is a collective failure, but it was right to make this movie,” says one top veteran producer and financier, who points out that Phillips is a brilliant director who has made Warners billions between the first Joker and The Hangover movies.
Still, observers wonder how De Luca and Abdy could have presided over a film that veered so far off course from what audiences wanted or expected.
One answer, perhaps: Phillips was given an extraordinary level of autonomy and final cut. There was no test screening, though insiders say this was a mutual decision between the filmmaker and Warners in order to preserve spoilers. That decision does stretch credulity, as the film does not have a particularly spoiler-heavy plot, and even spoilerific movies like Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Engdame had multiple test screenings.
For the first Joker, former DC Films president Walter Hamada worked on the project and received an executive producer credit. This time around, no DC executives were involved, as when the project was greenlit, DC was in a state of near-chaos. It would still be months before James Gunn and Peter Safran were hired to run the division and to form DC Studios.
Since Phillips’ main forte was comedy, Emmerich capped the budget on the first movie at $55 million, and brought on co-financiers to mitigate the risk, including Bron and Village Roadshow. Sources tell THR that Alcon, backed by FedEx titan Fred Smith, ultimately put up Village Roadshow’s portion and was eager to have a stake in Folie à Deux. The Zaslav regime, however, didn’t want to see so much money going out the door and only has one co-financier on the sequel, its slate financing partner, Domain.
Wiki: Joker's final budget was $55–70 million, considered by The Hollywood Reporter "a fraction" of the cost of a typical comic book-based film. $25 million of Joker's budget was covered by the Toronto-based financing company Creative Wealth Media, while Village Roadshow Pictures and Bron Studios each contributed 25%.
On Sunday, Warners didn’t attempt to sugarcoat the movie’s performance or suggest it has a chance of catching on after being rejected by fanboys — unless people want to go see it because of the “hate” factor. They also didn’t point fingers internally, such as at marketing, which can often happen after a movie bombs.
“It’s a huge disaster, but what is the fallout? Who gets the blame?” asks one source.
But both Gunn and Phillips have emphasized in recent days that they did not work together on the project, with Gunn answering a question from a fan on social media asking why the DC Studios logo did not appear in front of the movie, with the filmmaker-exec writing, “Because it’s not a DC Studios film.” He went on to add, “All future films with DC characters will be DC Studios.” (There is a DC logo during the credits). Interestingly, and perhaps as courtesy, Gunn saw the movie at the same time as De Luca and Abdy, according to a source.
Screenrant, Oct. 19, 2023: James Gunn Reveals His Role In The Batman 2 & Joker Sequel
James Gunn is involved in The Batman - Part II and Joker: Folie à Deux, and the DC Studios co-CEO has revealed what exactly his role is in the movies. Both sequels are part of DC's new Elseworlds projects, existing outside Gunn's DC Universe. While Gunn is mainly working on the new DCU, his new role at the studio sees the creative have some level of involvement with all DC movies and series going forward.
On Threads, Gunn revealed what he has contributed to The Batman - Part II and Joker: Folie à Deux.
"Todd had Joker in full swing by the time we came onboard - I've watched and given notes, but it is mostly with WB, where it started. Everything foward in live-action we're involved with."
Collide, Sept 4, 2024: Todd Phillips Sets the Record Straight on James Gunn's Involvement in 'Joker: Folie á Deux'
[...] the landscape of DC Films has changed dramatically since the original Joker was released. The newly minted DC Studios, led by Gunn and Safran, has ushered in a new era of interconnected storytelling and creative direction. This led to questions about whether the production of Joker: Folie à Deux was influenced by the new leadership at DC Studios. When asked if the production process changed with the new era of DC Studios, or if Gunn and Safran had any input, Phillips was clear in his response: "With all due respect to them, this is kind of a Warner Bros. movie. That's them also wanting it to be like, ‘Okay, Todd did his thing, let Todd continue to do his thing.’”
Silver, who co-wrote both the original and the sequel with Phillips, further clarified the timeline, saying, "We started before they even came aboard."
Phillips also pointed out that the film was greenlit before the new leadership was in place, adding, "So, while they have seen a cut of the movie, it's not like DC proper, even though it'll say DC after. Does that make sense?" Silver chimed in again to emphasize the autonomy of their project, stating bluntly, "Yeah. No, they had nothing to do with the movie."
The distinction is crucial for fans to understand. While Joker: Folie à Deux carries the DC branding, it remains very much a Todd Phillips project, free from the influence of the broader DC Universe planning.
The involvement of James Gunn and Peter Safran, it seems, begins and ends with a viewing — leaving the dark, gritty artistry of Joker firmly in Phillips' hands.

The movie began production in December 2022, two months after Gunn and Safran took control of DC, and many expected the duo to provide notes and feedback on the R-rated musical, especially given the capital outlay involved. But Phillips balked and would only liaise with De Luca and Abdy. And he has done little to dispel the appearance of friction, even though Gunn and Safran were on hand for the first director’s cut screening for the studio.
And even Warner Bros.’ feedback was sometimes ignored. Sources say Zaslav met one-on-one with Phillips shortly after WarnerMedia and Discovery merged in April 2022 and was open to filming in Los Angeles if the director would make the sequel at a lower price point. (The studio preferred London, where it would have cost about 20% less.) But Phillips insisted on shooting in Los Angeles, and the budget didn’t change. (A Warners spokesperson says the studio “supported the decision to film in Los Angeles” and the Zaslav-Phillips confab was merely a meet-and-greet where they discussed what else the director wanted to make there.) Insiders say studio brass did not want to debut the film at the Venice Film Festival, as it had done five years ago with “Joker,” but Phillips pushed back. A Warners spokesperson says the studio “fully supported the decision to bring the film to Venice.”
Gunn and Safran have a vested interest in distancing themselves from Joker and the bombs of the past few years, especially The Flash — a proper DC title — as they attempt to reset the brand, a top priority for Zaslav.
Indeed, they distanced themselves from Folie à Deux almost as soon as they took over as co-heads of the studio. During a presentation for press in January 2023, they outlined their expansive slate, but noted that Joker 2 would not be under their purview and would exist as an Elseworld’s title — a designation given to projects that fall outside of the shared universe of movies, TV shows and video games they are developing. They are working with The Batman filmmaker Matt Reeves on his sequel, as well as the TV spinoff The Penguin and other projects in development outside their mainline universe.
Regardless of whether Joker 2 is a proper DC title, it is the fifth bomb for a DC-character based film since hit movie The Batman bowed in March 2022, with recent misses including Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. (The more modestly budgeted Blue Beetle underperformed last year, but was not an outright bomb.)
Gunn and Safran are hoping to right the ship with the Gunn-directed Superman, which arrives in July 2025. “This puts more pressure on Superman than ever,” notes one Warners insider.
According to one source, the ending of the first movie’s original script featured Phoenix’s Joker carving his face in front of a crowd of his supporters. But The Dark Knight filmmaker Christopher Nolan killed that idea, believing that only his Joker (Heath Ledger) should carve his face. But Nolan is no longer at the studio, and thus there was no resistance to the idea this time around.
“He’s always trusted his gut — and it’s gotten him pretty far. He thought people would get the joke,” notes another Warners insider of Phillips.
Neither Phillips nor Phoenix was even sure about making a sequel and, for a time, contemplated putting on a Broadway show instead, before ultimately committing to the movie and bringing aboard Gaga in a role inspired by the comic book character Harley Quinn. The idea for the sequel came to Phoenix in a dream, and he and Phillips brought the idea to Emmerich, according to sources.
In the end, some are saying that Joker: Folie à Deux is a very expensive art film. But when asked who the intended audience was, one outside source sums it up this way: “For Joaquin.”

Well, it's not. Hopefully Jurassic won't flop now that ScarJo is the lead.
It is weird and it's called virtue signaling. I learned a new word.
We knew this way before DeadP3 was released. Apparently, HC already signed. It was said he won't be Wolverine or Dr Doom. Wolverine was a one-off.
The curse doesn't seem to care if the film falls under WB or WBD, DCEU or DCU, DC Films or DC Studios, the main universe or the elseworld verse. If the film is about a DC character, stupid decisions will be made and the film will flop. Let's see if SM25 will break the curse. I doubt it will with a $300M+ PB.
Not at this rate, it won't.
WB didn't believe in Joker1, so they didn't invest much in it. Joker1 made over a billion $ and WB barely got any of that money.
Now WBD truly believed in Joker2. They invested like $200 in it and it probably won't reach $250M.
Some think Alan Tudyk is Brainiac.
