This breaking news needed its own thread. Apparently, there are going to be some changes. It is rumored that Zach won't be returning as the director for any DC films, and the director of the standalone Batman movie wants a fresh face as Batman, so Ben won't be playing Batman in a solo film. Hmm... I wonder who is next on the chopping block. No one is safe, other than Gal and Jason M.

Actually, he did play Deadpool in 2009 in the Wolverine movie. That version of Deadpool wasn’t well received, so it’s quite something he was able to play the character again (more faithful to the comic book character) in the more successful 2016 movie. Of course, the Sony hackers who leaked the footage he co-produced to get funding helped too, so he has expressed gratitude to those hackers. LOL!
But there’s the lesson for HC. So his current version of Superman ain’t exactly as well-loved as it should be because he’s written to be too dark. Maybe Dany Garcia can help him produce a better version just like Ryan did with Deadpool — more faithful to how the creator created and wrote the character.

I know he wants a franchise, but I think he needs to stay away from Supes and venture to new territory. Plus, the budget for a Superman movie is setting the bar too high.

Guy Ritchie, from what I understand, is consider to be average. Most people don't think that he's either good or bad. I haven't really heard of him until MFU.
That's because Brandon barely had any speaking lines or scenes. His character's story line was the weakest because of this. I know that overall TT was great, but HC's part should have been more significant. CB had a very important role in the H8's court.
Besides, he actual did pretty well with the little he did have.
He can do something the critics usually love: a script that has realistic/profound dialog, a character study of someone in a unique situation, Shakespearan tragedy. Of course, this is all subjective. You may not like Shakespeare, but most people do.
I want Henry to do a role that would require that he shows a range of emotions. For example, a man who had to cope with his fiancee dying in a car accident. A man rebuilding his life after wasting so many years as a meth addict. All he has to do is find a screenwriter with a good track record. It would be very interesting if he would do it himself.

Done before but if they spin it with HC coping after the car accident of his male fiance,it will work. Of course, HC would never do a film like that in the past, but after Armie's success w/Call Me By My Name, he might. Then, the movie can touch upon topical issues and maybe HC can act not so stilted.
He can totally do that. He just needs to show up after a hangover to do the druggy scenes and throw on that green hoodie w/the powder trails.

I personally don’t like Guy Ritchie. I hate his movies (eg Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, the Sherlock Homes with Robert Downey Jr) but they are popular with the male demographics, and his Sherlock Holmes movies made a lot of money. HC starring in his movie, in theory, is not such a bad move. It’s just unfortunate, MFU itself, didn’t spark as much interest as Straight Out of Compton.
Well, the series is called The Tudors, and the scriptwriter/series creator admitted not sticking to history. The real character of Charles Brandon wasn’t exactly the romantic figure shown in the series. He was not that great in battles, had been married twice before he married Henry’s sister, married a 13-year-old heiress in his late 50s or early 60s who was betrothed to his own son, because his own son got sick, died and he didn’t want losing the heiress’ fortune. Oh yes, even historical men at that time raised their eyebrows when he married the heiress given his age and that his own wife just died.
So, I would say the series made his character more romantic growing from a selfish reckless youth to someone who had more of a conscience and wisdom, which I doubt the real CB ever developed.
All actors all had to play a supporting role (even an extra) at some point in their lives. It’s more what they did with that role and what they did afterwards.

It doesn't surprise me. Wasn't Jack hanging around with Roman Polanski, who raped a kid in his home?

I’m not so sure. Johnny Depp has been acting more and more erratic these days — either drunk or maybe high on something. I wish his family will intervene and get him sobered up!

Johnny is high on coke. His bodyguards are suing him and they spilled the beans on all of it.

That’s quite interesting. I always remember Geoff Johns as one of the creative guys I saw on some of the DC comic books I read (Wonder Woman) in particular, so him being an executive was a bit hard for me to grasp. I can understand when he wants to go back to doing something more creative.
Jim Lee is another guy I associate with the creative side of things. I remember when he used to work in Marvel Comics, being one of the major artists there, and building up the characters there. Was surprised he moved to DC, and even more surprised he’s doing more like an exec role.
Quite interesting too that Jim Lee is another Asian-American who went up the ranks of DC/WB. I am beginning to wonder if this is because WB is producing a lot of movies with Legendary which is Chinese owned.

Well, Lee is Korean, but I do know the culture can be similar. However, I have heard that there is a hierarchy between Asians, but money breaks all barriers. Furthermore, I am surprised there were big moves while WB is still on the auction block. Now, that ATT has moved one step closer to acquiring WB, things will get interesting.

Well, in theory not all Asian get along. There is some rivalry between the Chinese, Koreans and Japanese, not to mention all the baggage that came from past wars. However, in the American context, quite interesting to see a lot of Asian-Americans (regardless of what Asian origins they come from) are going up the ranks of WB.
It would be interesting what would happen if ATT acquires WB. It’s already quite interesting what’s going to happen if Disney and Fox become one too.
