Discuss Henry Cavill

While I am not a big fan of Zack Snyder's continuing dark tone for the Justice League universe, the circumstances of him stepping down from JL is quite sad.

As a big fan of Joss Whedon, it would be interesting to see how future JL movies will turn out to be if he leads them. More interesting is how HC's Superman would be treated in the future... Maybe less dark? It would be nice to see a bit more colour and light in the DC films.

I think he smelled another turkey and is trying to weasel his way out of this. I think if he didn't he somehow minimize his involvement with the film.

This what others think.

This is so stupid:

Cavill’s issues are even more thorny. “Justice League’s” Man of Steel had expected to be able to finish shooting the sixth “Mission: Impossible” film before needing to don Superman’s spandex again. That has not been the case, however, as the new scenes that are being shot have required him to jump back and forth from each production. Because of this, a mustache he grew for his character in the “Mission: Impossible” sequel will have to be digitally removed in post-production. Paramount, which is distributing the “Mission: Impossible” sequel, would not allow Cavill to shave the facial hair while production was taking place.

It is stupid! Why did he grow that moustache in the first place??

Maybe Tom Cruise wants to ugly him up, because he can't have any competition in the looks department. I think he even had a problem starring with Brad Pitt in Interview w/the Vampire.

It simply makes no sense why HC has to have a real stache. He could wear a fake one and take it off to shoot for JL. Simple.

That is a simple, logical solution. However, for some reason, wearing a fake beard (which is probably more cost effective) is shunned but using CGI (more expensive) is more acceptable. There was a YouTube segment I saw about the dumbest use for CGI, and one of the dumbest I saw was something in John Wick, I think. Instead of using a fake turd on the lawn, they used CGI to put it on.

I can accept the reasoning Tom Cruise didn't want competition in the looks department. There were a lot of issues between him and Brad Pitt on the set of Interview with the Vampire.

Here is HC's response about all of this. Someone please translate.

So, will this be solved by HC wearing a beard for JL, since he's so familiar with them?

When I read his post, it seems to me his using high-falutin' epic words to just say everyone is making a big deal about his moustache, which must mean he's been reading the comments in social media about it or someone who monitors it for him told him about it. So he's kind of making fun (or mocking) all the fuss about it.

Or. . . someone needs to take the thesaurus away from him.

LOL! I do believe he's just trying to be funny. It was kind of funny. (But hey, he's moustache ain't funny. I wish that contraption in the picture he posted can really incinerate that moustache of his!) fire

It seems as if Zach's control at WB for their superheroes franchise is diminishing.

Joss Wheadon may get directing credit.

Well it is likely he will get screenwriter credits if this article is accurate:

DC JL credit changes

It seems JW also has written out/cut out some characters or reduced their roles significantly. Hopefully, Superman is not one of those characters. With the success of Wonder Woman, I am wondering if she will be getting more screen time at the expense of the other characters.

I agree that Wonder Woman should get more screen time BUT don't cut Superman's role any shorter than it already is.

I feel like the trend is to limit his character overall which is very disappointing. If they only introduce him in the last 5 min or if he doesn't get to shine through somehow, it'll be a letdown.

I do not want more Wonder Woman. This movie is called Justice League so all the heroes should get equal time or at least have more scenes together, not to mention more interesting villains.

From the trailer, it looks as if WW is getting more screen time, and by HC taking vacays, it doesn't appear he is working on JL anymore.
