Discuss 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way

Oh boy, this is going to be good.

Pole reverted to form. A slight hitch in plans and Crazy Pole comes out. Why in the world does he have to bring all that baby stuff with him? I'm pretty sure you can buy those things in Brazil. Mama Pole was the star of the show for me. Refusing to be a cosponsor. She is right, he chose this now he has to make it work. He is a grown ass man, at least chronologically. So we found out that the minimum income to apply for visa without a sponsor is 26K. WTF? How does he think he is going to support a wife and child on less that that? Same applies to all these morons who need a sponsor (I'm looking at you, Nicole and Danielle).

Then we have Jenny. She gets catfished but decides to marry the guy anyway. 30 year age difference? Sumit, likes white girls enough to marry a 60 year old one. I just about choked on that.

I want to root for Tiffany and Ronald, but the stakes are just too high. Yes people should be given a second chance, or a third chance to clean up their lives. However, the consequences of his addiction have been very severe. His own mother sent him to jail (probably for the best, but it says a lot). Addiction is so difficult to break. They clearly love each other, but she will be thousands of miles and at least an 18 hour flight away from any support system she has. And there is a child involved.

The previews for the show had it looking like Evelin and Corey were the real deal. That girl is one stone cold user. I mean, she has the coldest, deadest eyes of any woman I've seen on this show since Anfisa. They are basically a younger, better looking version of Scott and Lizzie from Love After Lock Up. I don't think she really wants him to move to Ecuador. She will just bleed him dry and move on to the next sucker.

I guess there are least two more couples that were not featured in this episode. I am really interested in the Korean and his American girl. That is a dynamic that we haven't seen before, Asian Male with American female. An out of wedlock pregnancy to boot.

Yes, you can buy baby things in other countries, BUT, many people want specific things from the U.S. that you cannot get in other countries. I travel to Ireland frequently, and a friend of mine's youngest daughter recently had a baby. I bought all kinds of baby things, and brought them with me and they were very grateful because most of the stuff they couldn't get in Ireland. Things that would be considered normal, standard stuff here (but I don't remember now what most of it was. Though one thing they received from someone was a personalized blanket and they said that can only be bought here in the States. You can't get that there). And also, the quality of a lot of items is (remarkably) better here. And yeah, I'm happy that his mom refused to be a co-sponsor, too. But she's been against Kalani from the start (not that I blame her). However, how much of his issues stem from her, I have to wonder. Yes, chronologically he's a man, but emotionally he's very stunted and that USUALLY (but not always) stems from over-protective and controlling mothers.

And, LMFAO at your comment to Nicole and Danielle (specifically Danielle). You're right. They think it will be fine to just come here, bring a spouse because they're lonely, and POOF! magic will happen and they'll be able to live off of nothing.

Yeah, the Jenny/Sumit thing is weird. Why can't he find a woman around his own age in his own country? I know his friends are right. Marriages are USUALLY arranged, and maybe it varies from community to community, because I have a friend who is from the States, but moved to England, and met her now husband, and he's Indian, but his family FULLY accepted her right from the start. So, not all marriages are arranged, and not all families are against their kids marrying white people.

I want to root for them too. Ronald seems genuine is his desire to break his addiction, but you're right. It's really hard and will take a lot to do. I understand her mom's concern about Tiffany being so far away. And from previews for next week, it seems that they're already having issues.

Never seen Love After Lockup. But yeah, Evelin (I thought her name was Eleanor, and I couldn't remember his name), is kind of a bitch. The way she was like, "Are you really going to send me back with no money?" I was like, "Bitch, be glad that's not me in the car because I'd say, "Yeah. I need something to live on while I'm still here."" And I get that not everyone wants to come to America to live, but then why did she bother to come to America to visit him at all? She could have just told him she has no interest in living in America and if he wants to be with her, come visit her in Ecuador.

I've only started watching this past week, so I don't know the other couples you're referring to.

There are 2 more couples that have been previewed but were not in the first episode.

I'll give my critique later.

Okay, I'm liking this show, but I need for them to get to foreign soil. My goodness, why is the ratchedness taking so long?!

I guess hitching your wagon to Pole does this to you. Karine before Pole and now

grinning Boy oh boy. In the beginning I really wanted to rescue poor Karine but at this point I'm having trouble mustering much sympathy for her. She knows what she is getting and keeps coming back for more. I guess this is what desperation looks like.

Please no more Pole and Karine. They are both so unlikeable. Yes he is crazy and possibly dangerous, but she knows what she is getting at this point.

I think Laura is just looking for some hot sex. The relationship will run its course and she will be OK. She seems to have herself more together than Danielle or Nicole. Better taste, too.

I can't figure out Jenny and Sumit at all. Did she say they have known each other for 5 years? She has been to India before? He knows how old she is and what she looks like. However, 30 year old men just do not fall in love with 60 year old women. They just don't. Curious to see where this goes.

Corey just seems incredibly naive. Hell, she is not even looking to come to the US. I can't see this lasting much longer as I think she has pretty much emptied out his bank account already.

The ones I really wanted to see were MIA, South Africa and Korea. Stay tuned!

Oh, I can go another round. I

But what is in it for him? Yeah, money and green card. . .

Me too.

I still don't know why Sumit chose to move out on the day of Jenny's arrival.

She looks older than her stated age. I guess she wanted to drain him dry and dump him. The foolish boy decides to trot behind her, and I am here for the trainwreck.

The South Africa one bores me, and they haven't shown the Korean one yet. My guess is that the Korean one will fizzle out before the end of the season.

I think Evelin has shaved about 10 years off her age.

Corey is just too old (32?) to be this naive. How funny was that doctor visit?

OK, the South African one. Does anyone remember oh what was her name, Angela? And her Nigerian guy? At least she smartened up and came back to the U.S. without him! But why won't women learn that relationships with these types of guys will only end in disaster? This woman even kind of looks like Angela! Older women with younger men CAN work, but are a rarity. The reason why older men and younger women work is because the time a man has reached his forties, he's FINALLY mature enough (usually) that he's what a young woman is looking for. Lover, provider, etc. And yes, also because many young women who want an older man are looking for a father figure.

Angela and Michael were in last season, Before the 90 Days. This show has an American named Tiffany who is engaged to a guy from South Africa. He is the one with the gambling addiction. It is getting hard to remember who's who. 90 Days the Other Way is the 4th spinoff of the original 90 Day Fiance show.

Yeah, sorry, I mean the one from Qatar. I'm watching an episode now. I thought she was moving to Africa, but she's got the younger guy and is moving to Qatar. I try and keep up with all of this, but sometimes it's difficult. And yes, I know Angela and Michael (thank you; I couldn't remember his name) were last season. My point was, she was older and he was VERY much younger, and look what happened. But it didn't help that she flew off the handle all the time. And her behavior on the tell all was just beyond ridiculous. I was glad when she left and didn't come back. In the beginning and middle of the season I was so on her side, but she showed how little class she had at the tell all and how she can't handle confrontation and people asking her questions. She goes on the defensive and then attacks. Not rational at all, and it made me lose all sympathy for her.

OK, them (South Africa). I'm hoping they can make it work, but his addiction is definitely going to get them into trouble and I don't think she's ready to deal with it all. He seems like he genuinely wants to kick the addiction but I'm not sure if he's really ready to.

I think age differences of 10 or 15 years can work with older female/younger male but 30? I would have to see it to believe it and I haven't seen it.

Exactly! Plus, the older woman has to looks somewhat youthful, and it helps if she looks younger than her age or at least sexy and has a hot body. Women like Halle and Pam Anderson have had boyfriends of 15+ differences.

If the older women is none of that, she better be loaded and willing to spend the cash on the boy toy.
