Discuss Mission: Impossible

As you all know, on May 30, 2018, I had surgery to fix a fracture on my upper right femur. My surgeon, Dr. Benjamin Tam (who by the way loves Firefly and Serenity and has the DVD'S) put 3 surgical screws to hold my leg together.

The good news, my leg is healed and I can walk on it. The bad news is that I'm still in a lot of pain, which according to Dr. Tam is not good. So on January 23, 2019 I'm having a partial hip replacement done. I'm starting to like the bionic woman! I just thought that you guys might like to know.

Hello! I'm doing okay. It's been a crazy three months for me. By that I mean the hip replacement had been scheduled for January 23, 2019. I knew what to expect. It's the pacemaker situation that came out of left field and rattled me. What's really amazing is that you can have a pacemaker installed and then go home the next day.

My landlady is keeping an eye on me, and my insurance provides me with rides to and from my doctor's appointments. I'm doing pretty good.

Maria please give us another update

But of course, thank you for asking! It's been 6 weeks since I got the icd (implanted cardiac device). My chest muscles still hurt, but not as much. My heartbeat is is just fine. The ironic thing is that I may never have my heartbeat go that fast again, but if it does, the machine will kick in and do it's thing. My hip still hurts, but I can get around using a cane instead of the walker after two and a half months after the surgery. Last year I could barely get around at all with the walker two and a half months after my surgery. Enough about me. How are things going with you?

I'm glad that the hip surgery has helped and you're using a cane now instead of the walker. Soon you'll be dancing with the stars under the moonlight. relaxed

So that'll make falling in love this spring a 'shocking' experience. (just some silly humour) wink

Yes, I'll really be able to feel the electricity in the air. 😉

It's never enough about you. This is important! We want be satisfied until you are pain free! I am ok. I haven't been feeling great the last couple of weeks and haven't been on the boards. But things are looking up now and doing good. Passover is tomorrow so maybe dinner with my parents and that's pretty much it. I hope you have a happy Easter Maria. I hate that you're alone now especially on these holidays :(

I'm very sorry for not getting back to you. I hope that your Passover was a nice one. I'm upset about the shooting at the Chabad at Poway, California. My leg still hurts, but I as I mentioned in my previous post, I'm doing better three months after the hip replacement than I was doing three months after the first surgery last year.

Guess what! Two weeks ago, I was talking to this man at my cardiologist's office who did the lighting work for the Classic Mission Impossible series! He was great fun to talk to. He said that Peter Graves and Peter Lupus were very nice, but that Martin Landau could be a real asshole. Give me a post back when you can please.

Oh that's ok Maria. I am sorry your leg still hurts :(

That is awesome you met somebody that took part in the show! that must've been an experience. YOu meet somebody like that and you can talk to them for hours lol. Did he say anything else of note?

I am going on vacation tomorrow I can't wait. Just for like 5 days or so but it'll be good to get away grinning I'll probably still be posting on the boards from my phone while I"m in the hotel though lol

Not really. We didn't get to talk for too long because I got called into the doctor's office. But he was really interesting. Maybe I'll see him again. Have a great vacation, and thanks for all of your support.
