It's Time For An Important Maria Announcement! (Not Again)

As you all know, on May 30, 2018, I had surgery to fix a fracture on my upper right femur. My surgeon, Dr. Benjamin Tam (who by the way loves Firefly and Serenity and has the DVD'S) put 3 surgical screws to hold my leg together.
The good news, my leg is healed and I can walk on it. The bad news is that I'm still in a lot of pain, which according to Dr. Tam is not good. So on January 23, 2019 I'm having a partial hip replacement done. I'm starting to like the bionic woman! I just thought that you guys might like to know.

I was hoping you were done with all these surgeries and all. I will be thinking about you on January 23rd and I hope you'll give us some news after that. Good news preferably!

Well, it's Monday, January 21, 2019, and by this time Wednesday evening I'll be one step closer to being a cyborg. I'm not as nervous as I was last time. Again, thanks for all of your support and putting up with my ramblings.

Things went well. I'm not thrilled with the pain, of course. But I had this done because although Dr. Tam's been terrific about the meds for the last 7 months, he can't keep giving them to me. So, I'll only have to have 3 more months of them, 3 months of physical therapy, and this will all be over. Did you see my thread about Sam Elliott? Can you please post an answer over there?

Well, I'm out of the hospital (I was released on January 28th). I was supposed to go to a nursing home for rehab for 2 weeks but my doctor's couldn't find an available bed, so I'm at home. I'm doing okay, a home health care nurse comes in every day, along with a PT, and I have Norco for the pain. I just have to be very careful with how I get up or sit down so I don't dislocate my hip. I look forward to conversing with all of you a lot more in the future.
