Discuss Star Trek

With a nod to rudely_murray over at the Kevin Bacon thread, let's play 6 degrees of TOS! The rules: You name an actor, and the next poster has to link that actor to one of the Big 3 (Shatner, Nimoy, or Kelley) in as few moves as possible. Ideally 6 or less, hence, 6 degrees.

Example:

Player 1 names Bruce Lee.

Player 2 responds:

  1. Bruce Lee starred in Enter the Dragon with John Saxon.
  2. John Saxon starred in an episode of The Six Million Dollar Man with Lee Majors.
  3. Lee Majors starred with William Shatner when he guest starred in an episode of The Six Million Dollar Man.

Player 2 then names another actor to link to one of the Big 3.

Feature films or TV shows only. Try not to select names which would be too easy, like linking Shatner to Patrick Stewart is no challenge!

Okay, here goes...

First try: Marlon Brando.

Scusa, my short reply was confusing. What I meant to say was, that though it is clear that he wore a wig in that scene, I was also considering if it could be a bad CGI wig or whether the real wig got unstuck during an action scene - due to no fault of the hair and make-up designer - and went unnoticed during filming and editing. I was asking myself too if he always wears a wig when playing Spock, because whenever asked about his transformation into Spock, he only talks about his eyebrows and ear prosthetics

When you spend millions on a production, a wig malfunction is unacceptable. and it's not just in that scene. In the scene where he yells to Chapel in the corridor: I'm warning you, back off" , his wig is strange in the centre of his head. (Sorry I cant locate the clip in question )

I'm sure he is wearing a wig, but that's fair enough, to save his hair from deteriorating. The wig should fit perfectly, though so it is not a distraction.

** I just finished reading some comments on Reddit about Peck's hair. Others apparently have noticed it's askew, too. One replied, saying he thought it was supposed to represent Spock's turbulent emotional state.** laughing

@sunshine62 Ciao. :relaxed;

That seems to be correct. One can determine who and what NuSpock is by his hairstyle. Imagine a bad hair day. wink

A Heidelberg Holiday 2023 with Zoe Moore and Adam Johnson

Mythica: The Iron Crown 2016 with Adam Johnson and Melanie Stone

Scarlett 2020 with Melanie Stone and Brian Krause

Earth Angel 1991 with Brian Krause and Roddy McDowall

The Tempest 1960 with Roddy McDowall and Richard Burton

Sea Wife 1959 with Richard Burton and Joan Collins

Star Trek Original: Joan Collins stars in “The City on the Edge of Forever “

Next: Mark Hamill

PS It took me six films to get to the end, but using Melanie Stone earlier would have cut my journey shorter. I realised that at the end, though.

How?

One thing is having dishevelled hair; another thing is seeing it's a wig. smirk

How?

I had the impression I saw Melanie Stone's name pop up a couple of times on more than one of the actors' IMDb I chose. I might have made a mistake. It took me some time to get to the end, so I didn't go back, but I just mentioned it at the bottom. I thought maybe you had found a shorter way.

Sì, certo. Going with Melanie will make it 5 degrees (maximum permitted is 6). So, I'd prefer another actor from the beginning.

  1. Zoe Moore was in "A Heidelberg Holiday (2023)" with Eric Carter.

  2. Eric Carter was in the episode "NYPD Blue: Keeping Abreast (S11E05, 2003)" with Dennis Franz.

  3. Dennis Franz was in the episode "T.J. Hooker: Hardcore Connection (S1 4E04)" with William Shatner.

Next is still Mark Hamill

I'll take a look at his connections later or perhaps someone else would like to give it a try.

No, you hire another hairstylist, one who knows how to do the job. (That said, Peck looks cute with long hair)

It is from the episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (S5E03, 1963)" from the SF TV Show "The Twilight Zone (1959-1964)".

John Lithgow played the same role in a remake: "Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983)".

As I said, I don't take the heat well. Even when I was young, I never liked the direct sun.

I checked all the links. I'm a big B&W fan, so I prefer Shatner's version.

The gremlin looked better in the colour version. Of course, the remake was done some 20 years later, and the special effects available were far better.

I don't know if they know the group, but the song is still popular. There are:

. memes on TikTok

. remixes

. it is the song of the Italian Women Volleyball team, who won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024; one of the players, Carlotta Cambi, joined others doing karaoke, singing "Sarà Perchè Ti Amo" during the Festival di Sanremo in 2023

. and it's even chanted during football matches of AC Milan.; though with changes to the lyrics

As I said, I don't take the heat well. Even when I was young, I never liked the direct sun.

I prefer staying in the shadows when the sun is too bright.

No, I did not know Shannon and Julian were dating, I remember reading about her passing. I knew her from the series 20210.

I had a crush on Luke Perry. He too, passed away. Did you know he was buried in an eco-friendly mushroom burial suit made of organic cotton and seeded with mushroom spores?

As you can see from the video clips in my post here, Cole never really died. He left the mortal world and was in limbo, but as the grandmother, mother and others, he can return. The actor, Julian, of course, was then also in another popular series, post here, where he played one of the main characters.
