With a nod to rudely_murray over at the Kevin Bacon thread, let's play 6 degrees of TOS! The rules: You name an actor, and the next poster has to link that actor to one of the Big 3 (Shatner, Nimoy, or Kelley) in as few moves as possible. Ideally 6 or less, hence, 6 degrees.
Example:
Player 1 names Bruce Lee.
Player 2 responds:
Player 2 then names another actor to link to one of the Big 3.
Feature films or TV shows only. Try not to select names which would be too easy, like linking Shatner to Patrick Stewart is no challenge!
Okay, here goes...
First try: Marlon Brando.

As I play chess with the computer, I might as well answer my own posts here too.
I sure miss Jet, he kept us united. Nex left and even wonder2wonder has moved on.
Barbarossa 2009 with Hristo Shopov and Rutger Hauer
Inside the Third Reich 1982 with Rutger Hauer and Stephen Collins
Star Trek : The Motion Pitcture 1979 with Stephen Collin and TOS cast
I saw this film in 1982. I remember getting a shock. William Shatner's permed hair was atrocious.
I didn't know then that he wore a rug already in the series.
Seeing it was a hairpiece also in the film ,why choose a style most elderly ladies use?

@sunshine62 Ciao.
I'm still here. Just not posting much at the moment. One of my last posts was here.
I miss Jet and Nex too.
Nex is probably hanging around the YouTubers who he mentioned some years ago. Perhaps he is also visiting here, but not reacting to the posts?
Some other users haven't been around for some time either. I hope they are ok.
I have been rewatching the "Star Trek: Voyager" series. Perhaps I'll post something there.
Sadly, Teri Garr (Roberta Lincoln) has passed away on 29 October 2024 . Here is a post on the Star Trek Discussion Board.
I still have to rewatch the episode "Assignment: Earth" that she was in.
This month I'll also watch some Hall Mark Christmas movies and whatever else is on the television, especially old shows and movies. What are you watching?
It's winter and cold. Are you cuddling up to your warm fireplace? I just feel like going into hibernation.
What about the usual Christmas festivities - like in many other countries - in Italy? Are you going to any?
Yes, William Shatner has worn a toupee since (S)TOS. Did you know that Walter Koenig (Chekov) also wore a wig?

Ciao wonder2wonder,
I like Assignment Earth foremost for the cat , followed by Robert Lansing . I noticed in America fans are keen to follow the careers of costars. I prefer to remember them young in their Star Trek roles.
I watched the trailer for Snow White. It is digital yet two living actresses play the main roles. Did they wear those special green suits to shoot it?
I read that when the first Disney version came out at the premiere the dwarves were all day on view on the balcony/terrace of the theatre where it was being screened...it was hot and they only had alcohol to drink and they ended up getting tipsy and started undressing.
I always found dwarves creepy, I love Beauty and The Beast..a few months ago I was a French version with Vincent Cassel and Lea Seydoux 2014. It is well done.
I'm going to post this and then search Ira Stevens. Love the name Ira which mean wrath in Italian. Back soon.

@sunshine62 Ciao.
That was about the premiere of "Pinocchio" in New York City on 7 February 1940 at the Center Theatre. Eleven 'midgets' dressed in Pinocchio costumes were hired, and placed atop the theater marquee on opening day. At lunchtime they had food and alcohol - beer? - and then started to remove their costume.
Here is a picture of the eleven pinocchios in costume atop the theater.
The dwarfs (original spelling) of Snow White look creepy for many people. When the animated version was shown in the theatres in 1937, there were children who were so scared by them, the witch and the forest, that they wet their pants and the upholstery on the seats had to be replaced.
There are many versions of "Beauty and the Beast". Wellknown is Disney's animated and live-action musicals. The oldest version I've seen is "La Belle et la Bête (1946)". Here is a trailer and here is a scene.

you're right dwarves were hired to impersonate Pinocchio.
I didn't know kids peed in their pants because they were scared of the dwarfs, the witch, and the dark forest.
I saw a beautiful series on Beauty and the Beast .. it played in modern times. It starred Ron Perlman (Vincent) and Linda Hamilton 1987. I loved it. It was enchanting.

Yes, the television version, "Beauty and the Beast (1987-1990)", was nice, but I didn't like the last season.
Strange. I see Carrie Coon.
Carrie Coon in "Boston Strangler (2023)" with Kate Middleton.
Kate Middleton in the episode "The Blacklist: The Travel Agency (No. 90) (S5E06)" with James Spader.
James Spader in "Boston Legal (2004-2008)" with William Shatner,

Ciao wonder2wonder,
I don't think I saw the end ..did they get together? Why didn't you enjoy the end season?
You mentioned that young Chekov wore a wig too but he didn't use one because he was bald like Shatner, right? To me, it looked hippy-like.
The actress's surname is Coon .......... see if it works for you, I tried several times .

@sunshine62 Ciao.
There was a drastic change in season 3 which meant the end of the show.
It is rumoured that Koenig had a receding hairline and thinning hair that started in his early thirties.

The series wrapped up earlier hence the end story was rushed.
I was just watching Journey to Babel ..the scene where Spock's parents arrive and Kirk is surprised to find out, the ambassador and his wife are Spock's parents.
I always thought that Sarek was the only Vulcan who had married a Human.. seeing Amanda, shouldn't Kirk have guessed the two were his parents?
Furthermore, wouldn't Kirk have read Spock's files when he arrived on the Enterprise?

The writers messed up. When they made season 3 darker, there were many viewers who stopped watching, and even some of the actors lost interest, so it was cancelled.
Interesting questions about Spock's private life and what Kirk knows about it. You should start a new thread about that.

Amok Time is one of my all-time favourite.
I watched the links. When T'Pau says "I grieve with thee " somehow I didnt believe her. I bet she was pissed off when she found out that she had been fooled..She would have said Humans mock our traditions.
I'm sure it was Kirk's idea to have his shirt torn.
Love also the episode with the female Romulan commander who falls for Spock. I can't help loving Shatner's love for the over-the-top acting.
