Rick can basically talk about how moral him and his group is, however at the end of last night's episode he basically turned into Negan by taking the people of Oceanside's weapons, sure, he offered them a chance to fight, however when they declined, he just took their weapons in Negan fashion. He also made Dwight get on his knees, I think if we saw Negan from the beginning we would sympathize with him, however since we didn't, we make him the bad guy. I think in this world, it is easy to become Negan, and the sad thing is, that gradually happens without anyone realizing it because they are doing what they have to do to survive.

I'm sorry, but Rick = Negan is one of the most idiotic things I've heard recently (and with Trump in the White House that's saying a lot). Still no counterargument against any of the points I've raised. I even re-posted them for those with short term memory issues but they've been nicely sidestepped once again in favor of smoke blowing and personal attacks. From which we can conclude that neither of you have any good counterargument. And I'm sorry if you think a bunch of people who kill strangers on sight are as pure as the driven snow but ... no! They deserved to have their guns taken away. Now at least an outsider with a gun can hold all those poor helpless victims at bay while they withdraw.

Yes, it's hard to lose an argument. I get that. Don't go away mad. Just ... well, you know.

I'm not angry at all. Why would I be? I feel as though I'm right. My mind is set. So is yours. The OP agrees as well. A lot of other people in this thread agree with the OP. You're the only one with a problem right now. Why do you keep going on with me? Is it because you want me to think that you're harassing me because of a disagreement? Huh?

No, you and Shredder are pretty much carrying the torch on this one. And the fuel for that torch is pure bullshit.

Not that the truth is a democracy but let's find out where people stand. If anyone else is bothering to watch this thread, time to sound off. Who else thinks Rick is Negan's long lost brother? Am I delusional for thinking there's a difference between them?

Chris,
It is really impossible to reason with you because you're categorizing both Negan's actions and Rick's actions based on your own personal opinion, and then treating it like a fact. For instance, you pointed out that Negan bashes peoples heads in with a bat, including a 16 year old boy just to show as an example. Well, we don't know anything about that situation, other than the words from the people who also have a bias against Negan. But to you, that is unforgivable.
However, Rick shooting a police officer who was begging for his life, that is forgivable. If you're going to be this disconnected and inconsistent of morality, how can anyone refute anything you say? It's really just a matter of opinion. However, you're the only one that thinks you're correct in EVERYTHING and we are all wrong.

Who's "we"? We means two people. If any others are even reading this thread anymore, they're just sitting back and enjoying the show. But we've seen Negan and his people in action. They do execute random people to intimidate the rest into obedience. There isn't a reason in the world to think that kid actually did anything, any more than Benjamin did. And running down Officer Bob was indefensible. His reporting back to Dawn would've had no negative consequences and would have confirmed they were holding the two other cops hostage - which is what he needed her to know, to facilitate their deal.
I listed a whole bunch of differences between Rick and Negan though. I did not simply state my opinion as fact without providing plenty of reasons for it. I've acknowledged that Rick has done some bad things, not all of which can be excused. But I stand by the observation that he's not out brutalizing people systematically for his own gain whereas Negan is. Morgan has done even more bad shit than Rick, he admitted to Eastman that a number of the people he killed hadn't done a thing to threaten him. Does this make him irretrievably evil? That's the question he's struggled with, and continues to struggle with even as he gets ready for war. I would say no because he's still trying to do the right thing and make up for his past actions. The communities aligned against the Saviors are all trying to hold on to civilized behavior and encourage the best in each other. Negan is a warlord who's out to plunder communities and exploit people, because there's no more law enforcement around to stop him. That's a pretty major difference. Not trivial at all.

I think that Chris relates to Rick. He thinks like Rick so that's why he can't be reasoned with. Rick cannot be reasoned with either. Just saying..

That actually makes sense because I relate to Negan and I can see the upsides to why he does what he does. Like, I don't see him as a bad guy, but a guy who just does bad things for the right reasons.
