Discuss Henry Cavill

New Gods is the new addition to the DCEU.

Ava DuVernay is stepping into the superhero universe. The filmmaker has come on board to direct “New Gods” at Warner Bros. as part of the studio’s DC Extended Universe. “New Gods,” based on the DC Comics series of the same name, is aimed at creating a new universe of properties for the studio.

DuVernay directed Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” becoming the first woman of color in Hollywood to helm a live-action film with a production budget of $100 million.

The New Gods are natives of the twin planets of New Genesis and Apokolips. New Genesis is an idyllic planet ruled by the Highfather, while Apokolips is a dystopia filled with machinery and fire pits ruled by the tyrant Darkseid. New Genesis and Apokolips call themselves gods, living outside of normal time and space in a realm known as the Fourth World.

Did any of you share your observations on Vero? rofl

The treasure hunt for references had inspired a contest on Vero, spearheaded by fan Fiona Zheng, and led to many fans sharing any and all references and observations they found while re-watching the film.

And this did not go unnoticed by Snyder or the film’s writer, Chris Terrio, as they had kept a close eye on the Batman v Superman references pouring in from fans. The contest has recently come to a close and Snyder, after consulting with Terrio, went to Vero to congratulate the fans for their hard work, as well as announce the 10 winners of the contest.

I want to know which references and observations the winners found.

Very respectful. No (word) contraction. The only thing missing is please. So here are the questions. Post them on Vero. LOL.

  1. Why didn't WW help SM in MOS?
  2. How come did Lois and Lex figure out who SM was but BM couldn't?
  3. Why would any government leave alien tech lying around in the sea?
  4. How did Lex find WW’s old pic?
  5. Why would Lex think DP is the woman (WW) in the old pic?
  6. Why doesn’t any other reporter notice CK looks like SM and investigate?
  7. If it was all planned, then why doesn't MOS have any hints about BM being in the next film?
  8. SM helps people all over the world. Why would he kill poor people in a village with bullets?
  9. It was on the news that the guy in the wheelchair, who was about to testify against SM, was the suicide bomber. Why keep thinking SM was the bomber?
  10. Why wasn't Python debriefed? He told the CIA agents about civilians in the compound, but they fired the drones anyway. They accused SM of killing people, but they were the ones who fired the drones.
  11. Why didn't Lois write about what happen? Her job is to interview witnesses and report about it. Only this time, she was a witness.
  12. Why wasn't Lois debriefed?

Kidding.

A little bit more about Lois’s death.

The Knightmare sequence in Batman v Superman concluded with the Man of Steel capturing the Caped Crusader, blaming the Dark Knight for the death of Lois Lane in the dream before ripping a hole in him. Fans have noted that Batman has a Joker card on his gun in the nightmare, causing many to wonder if the scene is a nod to the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game, in which Superman kills the Joker in a similar manner after the Clown Prince of Crime murdered a pregnant Lois Lane. Now, Snyder has confirmed the Joker easter egg on his official Vero account after being asked about the scene directly by fellow user Judas.

And we thought ZS is the only one with dark vision. Just kill Lois. Why must she be pregnant?

ZS confirmed the Injustice video game series inspired him.

The Man of Steel director is not shy about interacting with his followers and when one fan asked if the Injustice video game series was going to inspire a future arc, Snyder responded, "Oh yes."

Reaction to the revelation on the Reddit thread were definitely mixed as most felt it was way too soon to even begin planting seeds for a story like Injustice.  Others Snyder supporters continue to rally behind the director no matter what

One about Flash’s mech suit and one about alternate costume concepts.

the filmmaker has confirmed that Batman was the one who made The Flash’s mech suit.

The outfit in question was briefly seen when the Scarlet Speedster arrived from the future to warn Bruce Wayne of the impending future and Snyder confirmed the theory of a fan who noted that the suit was similar to the mech Batsuit on Vero.

Zack Snyder took to Vero today to post a picture of alternate costume concepts for the Justice League.

There is speculation that some of these models, particularly Flash and Cyborg, are Knightmare versions of the characters — possibly in some sort of dream sequence.

I didn't and will never do it. I would only go on Vero, because I know that ZS is there. That’s stalker behavior. I would only post a list with uncomfortable questions about his work, because I know he will see them. That’s troll behavior. I don’t dislike ZS as a person. I just blame him for ruining the DCEU with his fetish for darkness. I said some ugly things. So I would have to change my name. That’s sneaky behavior. I wouldn't try Vero even if I wanted to.

ZS is in the mood to share. He shared a pic of JL unused clothing options. See here.

What brought that on? Did you see Jesus’ face in your oatmeal?

ZS’s fans say he pays attention to detail. Article here

The twitter user “@carbo_knight”, pointed out that Snyder used Central City’s exact population from the comics on the sign in Justice League:

LOL

He really pays attention to detail?

A fan provided a closer look at the fake military profile Cyborg sets up for Barry Allen to enter the Kryptonian ship in Justice League. One thing that popped out was the date of birth for his fake identity and should have definitely been a red flag for the security guard working the gate.

Cyborg's fake Military Record for Flash lists his Birth Date as November 6, 2010.

No, no Jesus face in my oatmeal. Let’s say I felt guilty, after a recent discussion about stalking and trolling celebs. I realized that those things also apply to me (as explain in my other post) if I ever post those questions on Vero. I didn’t like that.

I thought we were just kidding about posting questions on Vero. Who has Vero?

I came up with the idea and I wasn’t kidding. I really wanted someone to post some questions on Vero for me, because I wanted to stick with WhatsApp and IG. But I almost downloaded the Vero app when I read the five film plan lie. Thank God I didn’t. I’ll keep the discussion here. relaxed

AD about NG. She doesn’t say much.

When host Seth Meyers mentioned that Ava DuVernay will be directing a DC superhero film, the filmmaker replied:

“Not just a superhero movie. New Gods, Jack Kirby’s New Gods. It is sublime. So good.”

Though the New Gods may not be the most well-known characters among the general public, Ava DuVernay teased what audiences can expect from the film:

“Once they know… it’s one of the most lush… the best one.”

I'm happy and worried. AD's latest big budget film flopped. She can't have another flop. But NG doesn't look like an easy film to make. Batgirl looks like an easy film to make.

The comic purists are worried too.

Afronerd is a Black-male-orientated podcast that discusses comics and Sci-Fi movies.

They liked her other work and gave it rave reviews. But they basically felt that she wasn’t the right person to helm this New Gods project, and they used “A Wrinkle In Time” as proof.

In my opinion, it’s not about Duvernay’s directing but rather the material.

In the case of “The New Gods,” Duvernay would be tasked to make a movie based on a comic book that is mostly known by purists. DCEU couldn’t even turn “Justice League” into a hit, yet they think they have the formula for “New Gods?” A large majority couldn’t even name a New God if you gave them money to do it.

The word purist sounds like a bad word. It probably is... in a way. joy
