Something seems wrong with WB.

I agree with you and Mike. The cape is still in his closet (DG), because no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films (WB). DG said anticipate a WB statement later. That’s the statement and it kinda explains why the cape is still in the closet. But I don’t agree that WB said that to protect HC. I completely agree with what Mike said. It’s not speculation anymore. It’s perfectly clear that WB is avoiding mayor decisions right now. All we have is a low budget Joker film, which won’t be part of the DCEU.
I think WB is waiting for Aquaman’s BO#. Major decisions will be made after that. They probably have two film schedules – one if it fails and one if it delivers. That sounds like a reasonable plan. What doesn’t make any sense is a decision about MOS or SM now. WB avoided MOS all this time. Why would they make such a huge decision just a few months before Aquaman is released? I don’t think there was any negotiation.

Why did WB confirm his casting?
Of course there were negotiations. Negotiations about other things. HC has one more SM duty in his contract. He can’t accept the lead in a series without telling WB. He must tell them about Geralt’s physique, hairstyle and facial hair, how many eps TW will have and when filming will begin and end. Filming will start in November. It’ll take like six months to film 8 eps. Aquaman will be released one month later. Around the end of February we’ll know if it's a hit or a just another dud. HC will be done in April.

These sources are just guessing. Scheduling conflict, he refused a cameo, he wanted more money, WB changed course, Supergirl has priority.
Before Shazam rumors, SM was supposed to become the Nick Fury of the DCEU and make an appearance in several films. Then HC trolled ZL’s IG and geeks started the rumor about a cameo in Shazam. That was back in February. Then the rumors got stronger when set pics of an SM toy in a store leaked.
Everything's wrong with WB.

The rumors got even stronger after that, because HC and ZL kept trolling each other. Geeks were sure all that trolling meant that SM will appear in Shazam. They cited sources confirming it. Sources also confirmed that WB would make an SM announcement at SDCC. Nothing. So HC’s TW-related discussion with WB was the perfect opportunity to say that SM negotiations fail. Geeks forgot that HC has one more SM role in his contract. He can’t take the lead in a series without discussing a few things with WB. A series is not like a film. So those negotiations weren’t about SM's future. That’s why there was no reason to say anything about SM at SDCC or anywhere. So HC’s still in and SM's future is still uncertain.

Maybe WB got worried because of this.

Bond 25's new release date is Feb 14th 2020. If the next Bond film is around two/three years from then (2022/23) Henry should move on from Superman. It looks as if he's not coming back, anyway. Warner Bros plan to make a Supergirl franchise instead (?) - girl power! I'm sure there will be many actors up for the Bond role but he's bound to have more of a chance with his Superman contract over. He'd have no chance if he were still under contract.

And it’s not even a good guessing game. What scheduling conflict?
MI6’s wrapped Mar. 25. A cameo in Shazam could have easily been scheduled after that. Btw, HC was done before Mar. 25. Only TC had to stay for the HALO jump.
Shazam’s shooting began Jan. 29 and ended May 11. LSH first met HC in Apr. TW starts shooting in Nov. DG is HC’s manager and she’s one of the exec. producers of Shazam. It’s kinda weird that she can’t get her own client to do a cameo in her film. She also knows HC’s schedule. She won’t let him accept a cameo and then cancel because of scheduling conflict.
And who’s stupid enough to change a staring role in a contract to a cameo? A cameo is so small that you won’t even get credited. WB can change the role, as long as HC gets paid a staring role salary. But why would they do that? They can give SM a role in NG, GL, Black Adam, etc.

HC and CMcQ both added more fuel to the fire too. HC said he talked to CMcQ and CMcQ said he'll direct MOS 2 if HC would ask him. That was reason for geeks to think that HC will produce MOS 2. So any talk with WB must be about MOS 2. If no MOS 2 announcement is made means that negotiations failed. So the geeks are using everything HC said and did to guess why there's no MOS 2 news.

All his doing. He also mentioned which SM story he hopes to see adapt.
BOP has a release date and a villain.

Yes. But I wouldn't call it negotiations.
Wait, the geeks had reason to assume certain things. HC has a production company, he revealed which SM story has his preference and he was talking to a writer/director. Even some of the ladies wanted him to produce MOS 2.
But the really funny thing is that the most logical or likely reason HC and WB had to get together was left out of the guessing game. There’s no mention of HC and WB talks about TW and what it'll mean for HC’s availability for future SM roles. That's something that the two parties must discuss (like Mike said), because HC has one more SM obligation in his contract. But instead an unlikely Shazam/TW scheduling conflict and other assumptions were mentioned.

I just want to say something about WB changing course.
It’s obvious that WB want to change course. Both BvS and JL failed miserably. But even if they were huge hits, adding more heroines to their film slate would be a very good thing to do.
Right now, diversity (in front as well as behind the cameras) and more leading ladies/heroines on the big screen seem to be what people want.
Ava DuVernay said: “Hey Guys, I wanna make a New Gods movie.” WB simply agreed. A black woman will direct a big budget comic book film.
After criticism, WB decided to make Jenkins and Gadot producer on Wonder Woman 1984. Before, Deborah Snyder was the only female producer.
Margot Robbie is grateful that all the different movements made it possible for her to demand things. Now she can demand to be a producer and she can demand an all-female crew for her film too.
WB just comply.

The announcement of an SG or GOS film doesn’t need to have any consequences for MOS 2. Like WW 1 and 2, GOS can happen before MOS.

If HC and DG were really difficult, WB would have released a statement like this:
They won’t sugarcoat their statement if your behavior is jeopardizing things.
BTW, a huge star like Will Smith isn’t sure about his Deadshot film either. He wants it, but WB aint giving it to him. Why? He’s an A+ lister, people liked him as Deadshot and villain and anti-hero films are the films people want right now.
Lots of talk, right? If a huge star like WS can’t get DS, why are we shocked that HC can’t get MOS 2?
You did reply to me on the other board. Keep up.
