Yes, I know but it does answer the question.
The article said that studios are hesitant to go all out and release a trailer, so soon at CC when a fan can flash out a negative tweet, that will grow over time, and kill any type of buzz for a Nov/Dec film. They rather just wait it out or attend a later convention, closer to the film's release.

Funny studios would think that. BvS, Suicide Squad, Man From Uncle all got positive buzz in SDCC, but they still didn’t do so well in the box office in the end. BvS and Suicide Squad got bad reviews when they were finally released.
In the past studios don’t even have to show trailers, they just show the stars like they did when Fox showed their line up of other X-Men films that never saw the light of day because of the Disney merger (eg Gambit) a few years ago. Same with Disney when they introduced Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.

A bad review will come sooner or later, if the movie is a turkey, so the thumbs-down will occur before a release or after a release.

Interesting. Here is a social media post w/McQ in regards to a Supes sequel.

Interesting indeed to see how McQ and him were really pushing for a sequel story and pitching it. But it seems that WB wasn’t interested because they were more interested with JJ Abrams’ ideas for a Superman reboot. Me thinketh HC may follow the same part as Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, but maybe JJ may surprise us and not do the usual thing a new director would do and cast someone else.

So, I don't know if this source is credible. Word is that it is not, so. . . let's just PRETEND this is all real.
WB wouldn't offer a sequel to HC when HC was trying to re-negotiate his contract. WB wouldn't bite when McQ pitched a Supes sequel. WB went forward w/o HC in Shazam. WB said Supes is on ice.
So... if they hired JJ I doubt he will rock the boat with HC. Plus, JJ might have something to prove and rep to hold. He might want to bring in an actor with a bigger fan base. However, actors who play Supes are usually no-namers, which will make him want to go younger to bring in that targeted group.

Well, I’ve read the McQ and HC pitch story from other sources. But the JJ Abrams taking over the DCEU has been reported in the Hollywood Report and even Grace Randolph said something about it. Did Grace mention anything about the HC and McQ pitch?
I can see HC trying to pitch for a MOS sequel with his manager (Dany) pushing for it too.

Oh, that part is true, and I even posted a post from McQ in which he says what went down w/WB.
I heard that Abrams signed on with WB media. He could get tied up with any project that they have. WB doesn't seem to be in love w/Supes. Plus, they are booked solid for filming in the upcoming years, even if Abrams will do a remake.

This was on LSA and this was from a tweet, so take it with a grain of salt.
Somehow, I believe this conversation took place, but I'm giving HC the side-eye.

WB seems to be on good terms with Brandon Routh. He’s back playing Superman on TV - for some special episode in one of their DC-related TV shows.

Is it coincidence that first JJ Abrams is rumoured to reboot Superman, and now an ex-Superman actor is playing Superman on TV? Is WB sending a message?

Here's a direct tweet about the fan encounter. When it is written this way, it put things into perspective.

I think what went down wasn't pretty, and "I" believe WB felt that HC was not being gracious. He wanted more than a cameo, and they weren't willing to do that due to the poor performance of the other films.
However, they gave every JL actor a sequel, so maybe, that -- underperformance at the box office -- is not it.
It might be that HC sat down and wasn't so nice. Most likely, HC left a bad taste in their mouths, and they aren't thinking about him. Dany, they will keep, because she is linked with DJ.
Conclusion: HC played himself.

All JL actors? I don’t think Cyborg is getting a movie, and I’m not sure The Flash is getting one as the actor playing him has commitments for other Harry Potter movies and he could potentially be recast. Only Gal as WW and Momoa as Aquaman seem safe. Ben Affleck is already replaced.
HC has a strong fan base though, so it would be interesting if whatever went down with him and WB will be set aside. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if WB just keep on delaying making another Superman movie until they just replaced him (like Brandon Routh), It would be funny if they bring Brandon back — well, they have already in the small screen.

My bad. I didn't really consider Cyborg, and I thought there was a Flash movie.
I'm talking about characters. WW, Aqua, and Bat are getting solo pics. Ben just bowed out of playing Bats.
Does he? Or is it a rather (internet) vocal fan base? I say this, because they aren't showing up at the box office. A good indicator was the MFU poor showing to a biopic, SOC. SOC had a strong fanbase. Perhaps, SOC's fanbase wasn't vocal, but they showed up to keep it number one for weeks at the box office. MFU had a lot of fans liking the movie but not enough of them.
Even if that did happen, it will take about 3 years before filming, at the earliest. HC will be 40 at that time, if not older.
That would really be telling. LOL.

They do say these days that it’s the ‘concept’ not the ‘star’ that brings people into the theatres these days. As for comic book movies, people are used to seeing different actors playing a comic book hero, even Superman.
