OK, from all I could read about this, I don't see more than 38 episodes mentioned. IMDB only shows 13 episodes, so it must not be up to date.

I checked again. I was wrong, Serdar is not in this show. So no worries there.

Yes the Chief of Police was a dirty cop, dancing to the tune of the corrupt politicians and organized crime bosses they were in bed with. It would be one thing to say there would have to be an investigation since all these people Behzat had accused of either conspiring to kill Esra or covering up for them died there. There would have to be an investigation no matter what in fact. But the Chief jumped to the conclusion that Behzat had planned this and carried it out, and did so without any evidence to suggest that to be the case. He spoke as though his guilt was a foregone conclusion, which suggests that he simply wanted Behzat gone. If you're not dirty, they have to go after you. Real life examples of that abound. But as you said, an honest investigation would quickly destroy that theory and show that the vigilante twins were the culprits. The only witness other than Behzat would support his telling of the facts. The phone records, cell phone tower records showing his approximate location at various points in time, versus the records of the people who were killed there, would demonstrate that he wasn't the one who gathered them there. And all the evidence showing that Muzo and Barbados were serial killers of those who had escaped justice, all that and other evidence I have forgotten would exonerate him.

As to Behzat forgiving Sule, it is a hard thing to imagine, but not impossible. Do you recall the family in Colorado back in the 1990s whose daughter was killed, Jon Bennet Ramsey? Mr. Ramsey was well connected and able to use his influence with the local authorities and that case wasn't ever officially solved. But the evidence suggests that one of the other young children had accidentally killed his sister that night. They then gave him a sleeping medicine and covered it up and protected him. I know, that isn't the same thing at all. Sule did it on purpose, and she wasn't a child. Also, Behzat didn't know her from Adam before it happened. But in the story his mind was sort of broken, and he suffered from immense guilt about many things regarding Berna and the family. And by the time he found out the truth, he had grown very attached to Sule, and that snapped his mind once again. After much struggle he decided he was partially responsible for the damage and wanted to try to just not screw things up for his only remaining child. That is a hard pill to swallow. I think I would have had to have her committed to a psych. institution again, one for the criminally insane or something. Something which would serve justice while trying to give her treatment, and then try to do a better job with her. But hiding what happened would be impossible. It would be a denial, a refusal to deal with that reality.

I noticed that in the subsequent episodes, the ones out this year, Excrement is back, and Eda is gone. Excrement was very easy to hate when he was introduced, but he kind of grew on you as time went on. He became a likable villain. Just don't fail to show him respect!

UPDATE: I just looked back and we started watching Behzat on Nov. 1. We went through 96 episodes in just 3 weeks. That is a LOT of TV watching. But the time flew by. When you are less able to physically do stuff all the time, the TV is a great entertainment.

That is indeed a lot of watching - considering that we were wavering around Ep 7!! I remember the Jon Benet case - I saw a documentary on it and the police were pretty much useless - they had no idea what happened to that child. It has been suggested that the little girl was a fussy eater and that her brother was on the Asperger's spectrum - apparently he used to like to eat pineapple(?) and it was HIS - like most Aspergers children he focussed on one thing and God help anybody who interrupted that - it was theorised that Jon Benet took a piece of his pineapple (it was found in her stomach contents) and he picked up a torch and brained her with it. I believe that absolutely. But the parents interfered with the crime scene - they removed her body from where she was killed and put it in another room and covered it with a blanket - that in itself was suspicious and it was why the police focussed their attention on them. They must have known the son did it and they should have told the police that because there was no way that anything was going to happen to him - in fact it might have done him some good and gotten him some treatment that he probably desperately needed. Instead he is now an adult and capable of what God only knows. I am hopelessly biased because I have no other children and no experience of loving two children at once - so I am not really qualified to judge. I am glad Excrement is back - he livens it up no end !! If Eda is gone is Moron still there? What about the other members of the team - Ghost - Vulture - Cevdet? I have just watched the opening episode of 46 Yok Olan - I don't know what that means - maybe his address. I see Sule reappears but at least she is unconscious at he moment - I wonder if she cut her hair in Behzat to film her scenes in this. Murat has been to the forest and taken some potion and had visions of his father and his sister - Vulture - who seems to have taken on the mantle of Alfred to Murat's Batman - managed to save some. He has now given it to his comatose sister. His female psychiatrists father has slapped her face in the street and told her he wants her and her mother out of the house in two days - no matter - he is suddenly dead. That is where I am at - at the moment - just about to have a break and watch Countdown for half and hour.

I just checked on IMDB and it looks like Ghost, Vulture, Sevket, and Tahsin are back, but Cevdet, Harun and Eda are missing. So I am guessing Moron's whole family is missing; wouldn't make sense to have them there without him or Cevdet. Excrement is back for those episodes. I saw a picture of him in one of the episode preview pics and he is a skinhead now. Maybe he has male pattern baldness and figured it looks better that way. I hope we get those new episodes next year.

So I am guessing they decided to make the new shows more about Excrement and his cat and mouse with Behzat, and less about the socio-comedy of Moron, Cevdet, and company. At times that got on my nerves. Cevdet turned into such a sourpuss I couldn't stand to look at his face, and I hated his whining on and on about what a wonder person that guy might have turned out to be if he had not shot him. He angry, lashing out at Asli turned my stomach, too. She didn't mourn the life of the guy who kidnapped her, tortured her, and threatened to kill her, and that was what angered Cevdet. Why, when they make guys get emotional in these shows, why do they show them take a leave of their senses, and display zero rational thought? Nothing is impossible, and I suppose that guy could have suddenly changed into a wonderful man who would win the Nobel Peace Prize next year. But what are the odds? And how is Asli at fault? There is no coming back from that for the Cevdet character.

In 46, I am halfway through episode 2. Murat is getting over the after effects of that ayuhuasca hallucinogenic potion they all drank. I will check out some of my recorded shows after I watch this and let you catch up. I should go to the store today or tomorrow, also.

this series has a total of 13 episode, extra episodes need to be deleted.

TC - I am also halfway through 46. It is not grabbing me at the moment. Beserk seems to like parts where there is a lot of flash back and hallucinating and I am not keen on that. As it is only 13 episodes I will try and persevere - there is a police chief now and a blonde female newby from Vice. I am wondering who is the star of this show - I assumed it to be Beserk. It is needlessly repetitive - like Groundhog Day meets Mr Hyde.

And it has one of those plots involving a guy who commits a crime during a blackout. As a way to create a huge problem for the 'hero' of the story it is a useful plot device. What is his defense?

"umm. Sorry, you see I went to the Shamanic ritual and drank the ayuhuasca hallucinogenic brew and then I thought I was better until I woke up at the shore, and thought I was in my living room. And I don't recall anything that happened in between....My bad. So....can we just call this a learning experience and let it go at that?"

He called the guy. Several people will remember him out at night, including the homeless people he gave money, and the people at the bingo hall that serves beer. The autopsy will probably show some drug in his system, the one he injected. But he can honestly say he went there to offer the guy money to stay out of his daughter's life, and he gave him 100K lira, which was apparently still on his person when he was found. So that works in his favor. You don't normally give a guy a bunch of money and then kill him, and leave the money in his pocket.

I am wondering if he injected that Shamanic drug into Sule's IV solution. And what is she going to be like when she wakes up.

Sorry it is starting out this way. I know you like sci fi stuff and was hoping this one would be interesting. Maybe it will get better.

by the way, does Ceyla the psychiatrist's mother look a lot like Ceyda from Behzat? Is that his wife again?

You are right. This is quickly taking on a Jekyll and Hyde flavor.

You can never tell what these series are going to turn out like - some you win - some you don't !! He is definitely injecting Sule (Eso) with that drug from the Shaman ritual - the doctor has told him twice now that there are high levels of DCM (whatever that might be) in her system. What I don't understand is that he obviously now knows the effect it has on him - so why does he inject Sule with it? Does he want to wake up and start having hallucinations and killing people? Why in fact - does he keep injecting himself? No - his real life wife doesn't appear in the cast list. They are introducing a secret mission or something now with Blondie (why do women wear their hair in styles that they are constantly brushing away from their faces - haven't they heard of - we call them hair clips - I don't know what you call them - is it bobby pins or something like that?) she was supposed to have been killed in an explosion but some people think she is still alive - it strikes me as a way to spin out the series because the plotline right now is pretty thin. There are no really strong characters in this series besides Beserk and Vulture - and even he hasn't got much to do. Why would that female psychiatrist (yeah - she really looks and acts like one doesn't she) mourn for a guy who just slapped her across the face, made her homeless and has probably disfigured her mother - why would her mother cry - except with relief? Is it a muslim thing - men must be loved no matter what they do? Isn't it a strange way they bury people in Turkey - no coffin - the shrouded corpse goes direct into the earth and slanted boards are placed over them before being filled in with earth. Those cemeteries must stink of decomposing bodies because they don't bury them all that deep - maybe that's why they pile so much earth on top. Very strange.

Well, the mother did say she was at peace for the first time in years. I noticed her face was disfigured in exactly the same place the old man slapped Ceyla, must be his favorite place to hit. Ceyla credited the drug with her forgiving attitude. But in general, Muslim women have been conditioned to expect to be beaten by their men. From what that Imam was saying this is Islamic doctrine and they are indoctrinated with this idea from childhood, as much as they may hate the idea. It's one reason I find it an awful ideology. That new lady detective Selin has a bit of a I'm smarter than you are and better than you give me credit for attitude, and the man. Dogan, seems to act a bit shy and reserved. Murat is really acting like Hyde in this series. He is taking over the normal personality. He seems to think he is gaining something great from the drug, but since he cannot remember what he did while taking it, the danger aspect doesn't seem to register with him. I liked him better as Behzat. He was drunk quite often, but was a functional drunk. He just had his mental health issues to deal with from time to time. ...When Ezo or Sule wakes up, holy cow, she is going to be a total whacko, yes?

That will probably be the next arc of the storyline - she will wake up and act normal for five minutes - happiness and joy will prevail - then she will start dozing off again and need more of that drug - then she will start disappearing at night time and bodies will start cropping up and Beserk will catch on to what is happening and start killing more people to cover for her - all this told in hallucinatory style until they both end up in the loony bin. Thus spake Zarathustra aka Strange !! It's gone midnight - talk tomorrow.

Murat is worried when he first learns of his night excursions, but he seems compelled to take more drug. And then he becomes dishonest, and seems contemptuous of his normal minded concerns; he displays that same behavior you see in addicts of all kinds. He will say whatever he needs to say to fool or appease the concerns of those about him, to manipulate them so he can do what he wants to do. Vulture and the uncle don't realize yet how bad it is. They interact with his normal personality, the one in charge when he first awakens, before the Hyde personality comes to the fore and before he takes more drug. The Hyde personality is becoming stronger and more dominant, I think. And since that is the model for this story, it is to be expected. I wonder if this story will deviate from the original much, or if it will just be a modern version of it.

The uncle said he was being committed, but all they did was test him. When you are committed your rights are restricted. You can't leave without a psychiatrist allowing it. But Murat just decided he would go to the funeral on his own.

Burial in a shroud seems like a custom from biblical times, doesn't it? I like the idea of burial in a pine box. The body can return to the earth eventually, when the wood decays. The body will have decayed long before that time. We bury in caskets that will never corrode. I don't suppose it really matters in the long run.

If I were Murat, I would certainly not like losing control, or losing my memory and doing things I didn't recall. He should be put on a strong anti psychotic medicine to block the hallucinogenic effects. Perhaps he would recover.

At the moment, episode 3, Selin the blond detective has no concerns or suspicions about him. Dogan sounded like he might have a question in his mind, but the autopsy said it was a natural death so there is no crime to investigate. But I expect Murat-Hyde will kill again soon.

update: I just paused at 7 minutes into episode 5. They Hyde personality is smart and he has written a lengthy letter to himself explaining things, asking to work together so they can both help Ezo and get justice for his father's murder. It has become interesting to me.

Dogan, the detective, seems to be infatuated with the female detective Selin, and he is the one leaving notes that scare her. What a dumbass. That is how he thinks he can drive her into his arms?

Salim, our Vulture, and his uncle keep trying to look out for Murat, and they know his father's enemies will come against him soon.

I do hope it gets more interesting - I shall trust your judgement and keep watching. A lot of shows take their time to develop the characters and plot but this is a short series. I am not sure - it is too long since I read it - but wasn't the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde book pretty short? I don't think it ends well either. I couldn't bear the thought of being under the ground - it brings to mind another gothic horror story - "The Premature Burial" !! No - I want it clean - straightforward cremation - just make sure I am dead first !! It has a lot to do with my claustrophobia. I saw the car crash when his father was murdered and Murat was a young man - about eighteen maybe - he just sat and stared - he made no attempt to help his father - he didn't even shout. I found that odd - if that was me I would be screaming at least. He is a liar - he said he went to help when the father slapped his psychiatrist daughter but he didn't - he just watched from the car window and then drove away. Was that to let us know that he was a liar? I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't for the style of the show - the hallucinations are too confusing - they just irritate rather than interest me. And if his father had enemies it has taken Murat a damn long time to look into it - now he is looking for the doctor/surgeon who was supposed to perform the transplant but didn't - he could have done that years ago. I can just see Selin sticking her beak in and trying to prove herself by investigating Murat on her own - not a good idea dear !! I shall watch some more this afternoon and get back to you.

I don't recall well either, but I think it was a relatively short story. .....There is a scene where he recalls the event of his father's murder and he recounts how he sat there in shock and did nothing to stop it. Frankly though, he could not have exited the car and closed the distance to his father in time to stop it once he saw that he was being stabbed. That was over in a matter of less than 5 seconds I would guess. When he saw his father being pulled from the car he would have assumed it was a rescue, not a murder in progress. I missed the part where he lied about it, but I guess he wanted to make himself look better. Nobody likes to recount a moment of shame to others. ......I think it was the shamanic brew which awakened his interest in talking to Ceyla's father, and his subsequent suspicions about the doctor who didn't do the surgery because he was attending his mother's funeral, necessitating that his father return to do it. Up to that point he had accepted the story of the mother's funeral without question. His father told them to go on the flight on their planned vacation and he would follow after the surgery, but his mother decided they would stay and go on the trip together at some later date. Unknown to Murat, his father subsequently learned of the black market organ business, and refused to take part in it. A man died because he wouldn't do the illegal transplant, and it was his family which murdered him. Not until he talked to Ceyla's father that night did he have any clue as to the who or the why regarding his father's murder. Also, the Hyde personality is much more aggressive, uninhibited, and determined to search for the answers. .....The Hyde personality is also clever, not so crazy as he has acted in the first appearances. This is a departure from the original tale. In episode 5 he left a long letter to Murat, to fill him in on things he cannot remember but needs to know. I am making some notes which I will post in a little while. ........Selin seems attracted to Murat, and also curious, though I don't think she really suspects him of much at this point. There is nothing to tie him to the subsequent killings he had to commit after he began asking questions, and the bad guys came calling. More later.

second comment (Remember that it took several episodes to get into the Behzat story. Perhaps this will pick up for you soon.)

I suspect Det. Dogan may be up to something more than just trying to get Selin for himself. He gave Murat's phone back to Salim and he returns it to Murat. Dogan relayed the threatening message to Salim, but Salim says it must have been a wrong number because nobody came to their house.

Bad guy Cem, who was wounded, is cared for by a woman Yildiz, who is also bad. Two of their henchmen are idiots; they had called Murat's phone and tried to scare him saying 'we know who you are and we are coming for you'. But Selin had answered the phone, which Murat had to drop when he was kidnapped that night. (I am guessing you saw that episode by now, the one where he learns of the black market organ criminal network, the one his father had refused to be part of, which was indirectly responsible for his death). Bad guy Cem is later found dead, having succombed to his wounds, apparently.

Murat is unconcerned about the bad guys, determined to finish making the drug (from more of the Shamanic brew he got from Sude) so he can treat Ezo. Anyway, that letter from his Hyde personality seemed to convince him to work with Hyde, since Hyde seems confident and capable, and knows what to do.

Selin is going to figure out soon who sent the warning notes to her. She knows where the paper was purchased and is after the CCTV footage of the stationery store. Dogan has denied knowing that store already. If she sees him there, she will know he lied and will have to figure he left the notes. What will the idiot say then? "Well, I wanted to spend more time with you cause you're pretty, but I was too shy to ask you out, so I tried to scare you into my arms." Brilliant.

Ezo is mumbling sometimes now. The drug is jump starting her mind. There is eye movement as Ceyla talks to her, and her finger moved. Medical staff write it off as reflexes. I am guessing it won't be long now, probably after Murat gives her the next dose or two, before Ezo wakes up. Then your prediction will come true. Initially she will seem like herself, but before long the effects of the shamanic derived drug will begin to manifest. That should be interesting.

Uncle Ferit tells his intelligence source something of what is going on, but not everything. Just that it involves a black market organ trade and the murder of his brother. So the intel. friend now feels better about giving him information. He had gotten nervous after the names he gave Ferit turned up dead. There is a Syrian connection; one of the black market guys, the anesthtist and a patient, were both Syrian. Now the intelligence service is looking into the case. So there are more prying eyes now, not just the local homicide cops. Uncle Ferit also asks for more weapons, since he thinks the bad guys might come after him. Sounds like a showdown of sorts may be in the brewing.

Murat fired Ezo's doctor because he objected to the drugs Murat is giving her. Ceyla finds this out. The doctor tells Ceyla Murat has serious problems as of late and warns her to find another job before things go south at that hospital. If she wants to help Murat and Ezo, he says, stop him from taking and giving the drug. Murat has serious memory loss from the drug he says.

Now we learn that Selin screwed up an operation she was in by disobeying orders at her undercover assignment. Her previous chief tells her she is on her own, that she should tell the DA everything and her prison term will be short. Selin wants the list of the mafia guys, believing one of them has followed her to Istanbul and is after her. She still thinks the notes are from the mafia. Selin tells Dogan she screwed up her last operation and now her former chief won't help her. Dogan swears he will kill anyone who tries to hurt her. Dogan has it bad, like Moron did for Eda.

Meanwhile, Murat seems more like Hyde now; he asks the nurse for a neck massage. Ceyla walks in. Murat appears hedonistic. This is affecting both the nurse and Ceyla, I think. What you said about her is true; she doesn't act like a psychiatrist. Well, when she first interviewed for the position she acted professional, but since then she acts more like a girl with a crush on Murat. Ceyla secretly steals a vial of the drug as Murat gives Ezo a dose.

While dropping a file off at organized crime, Selin sees some CCTV footage showing Murat entering the restaurant where the slaughter of the illegal organ trade criminals occurred. Innocent enough, but it is a coincidence that he apparently dined there. She texts Murat and asks to have dinner with him. They meet at a fish restaurant. She tells him about the massacre of the organ trade guys in the secret basement of a restaurant. Then she says there is video of him entering that restaurant during the daytime. And she relates that cryptic phone call she got when she answered his phone "we know where you are, and we are coming". She tells him she cannot protect him if the mafia comes after him. He tells her that nobody came, he doesn't know what the call means. He doesn't seem concerned. She tells him she saw him with his sister, saw how much he loves her. And he removed her stitches for free. And she was touched and wanted to have dinner with him. Murat has it going on these days. I count three ladies who seem hot to get to know him now.

Ceyla goes home and takes the drug. Her mother comes home and Ceyla does her makeup. Ceyla is feeling more alive now.

Leaving the restaurant there are bad guys following. Murat sees one after Selin and chases after, shouting just before he shoots, so he turns the gun on Murat, who dives into the bushes. Two other bad guys are tailing Murat and they shoot the first bad guy as he aims at Murat. Just then Dogan comes running and fires into the air. Murat has hit his head it seems and lies motionless in the bushes, unseen by anyone. Selin leaves with Dogan, and the two bad guys tailing him take off. Murat without Hyde wakes up and goes to his car. He reads a note he wrote to himself while in the restaurant; call Ceyla, she wants to talk about Ezo, she has feelings for you, so call her. Hyde then tells him Inspector Selin is mine. So the two personalities will have different girlfriends. LOL, I can see trouble ahead.

Murat calls Ceyla. She is on the drug now. She wants to come see him and talk about Ezo (yeah, right) and is on her way. Murat goes home.

Uncle Ferit's daugher and grandson come to visit.

Selin and Dogan go to his home. He shows her where things are, gives her a room, and says she can stay there. He gives her the day off the next day he says. She is grateful and hugs him. Looks like his crazy plan actually worked, for now.

Murat answers the door and there is Ceyla in her hoochie momma red dress. She walks in and turns to face him, legs apart, in a 'come and get me daddy' stance. She pushes him against a support column and kisses him. And you know she won't remember anything about this tomorrow.

My sister got me a new laptop, HP Probook with Windows 7 Pro that was on sale for $170. That is really cheap. She knows I prefer 7 to either 8 or 10. I know that support for 7 will end in January, but I don't care about that. I am probably going to install a Linux operating system on this rig anyway after support for it ends. Linux is much more stable than Windows, uses less memory, and almost never gets a virus or malware. Plus most versions of it are free. Anyway, I just got this yesterday and I have been busy setting it up the way I want it.

That's kind of your sister! I use Windows 10 with Edge. I don't know much about spyware and such - I've got nothing to hide anyway - they are welcome to the banal details of my quiet life !! I saw Ceyla in that red dress - geez - I am amazed at how some Turkish women dress - they look like hookers. I am just starting ep 6. Murat looks like he has enjoyed his evening!! These dark cold evenings make me very dozy - I do tend to miss some stuff because I fall asleep if it gets slow. One thing you haven't mentioned - so I am not sure about it - Fatboy Cem - I don't think his demise was natural - that woman who was poking him in her house and threatening him - hard faced blonde bint of mature years - isn't she the same one who was trying to get the jar of watery jam open for her grandson? And isn't that grandson the same grandson of Murats flowing grey haired uncle - is the child's mother his daughter or his daughter -in-law? Who is the child's father? I am confused about that - I thought the hard faced blonde bint was Fatboy Cem's wife - else why was he in her house? At any rate it seems like a connection between flowing grey haired Uncle and the baddies - please untangle for me !!
