Ok I've been watching the show and I only have 2 episodes left. I loved certain parts of the show and dislike others. Instead of just complaining I wanted into know 1 thing you love about the show and 1 thing you dislike. So this post isn't all negative, but a balance of good and bad.
I love Colleen Wing, she's a badass and Jessica Henwicks acting is great. Her fighting is by far the best in the show.
I hate the way the fight scenes were shot and edited. Everything is too close up,too shaky. It's like they didn't know how to shoot intricate martial arts fights scenes.

Yeah I didn't like them being a couple either. Same with Claire and Luke. I think they put this stuff in to appeal to a certain demographic.
Can you refer to a specific scene that was "too close up, too shaky"?

Episode 3 when he's looking for his x-ray from when he was a child. Danny ends up in a fight in the records room. It's up close, and edited like someone put the film through a paper shredder. Almost every action scene has been this way, I just mention it, because I just finished watching it.

Colleen's ass is amazing and her sword fights are the best thing about this show apart from Harold's hospital scene where he mocked the coughing man(replayed that several times laughing my ass off).
Worst thing about this show is the fights, this a martial arts show, how does someone mess up the choreography so bad? They should have used the coordinator from daredevil or into the badlands, both those shows have extremely well choreographed matial arts.

Perhaps they should have made the fights more like this?

Arrow is mildly entertaining to pass the time by but it's fights(and everything else) are just mediocre, although it's on the CW so mediocrity is expected in abundance.

Yes. Too close, too shaky. It would be much better if they would pull back and stop cutting away with each punch. The fight should be shown from head to toe, not nipple to forehead lol.

Examples of fights that were too close and shaky...
1.) The first hallway fight when Joy is being kidnapped. 2.) The second hallway fight with Davos 3.) When Danny and the ladies go to China to get madam Gao, when they are fighting the henchmen and realize the weapons are poisoned. That entire fight was a mess, the camera angles...frustrating. 4.) The scene where Danny is getting the X-ray.
That's off the top of my head. There's a few others. I think the fights looked heavily choreographed and the editing didn't help.

I'll give you 2 things I like & 2 things I dislike:
LIKE:
I like the actor they got as Ward, a very engaging and charismatic actor.
I like the general story of plot, the dialogue is iffy but the story itself is very mythical like a kung fu film from the 60s & 70s!
DISLIKE:
I dislike the actor they have as Danny, too pretty, too soft, little range, and cannot say the lines convincingly.
The fight scenes are not edited and prepared too well. Too sluggish and too artificial, it needs to be faster, cleaner, and the actors need longer training to sell the fight dance effectively.

So you thought Daredevil had bad choreography too?

No, that scene yes. 90% of the fights in Daredevil were well choreographed and shot very well. Most of DD fights were shot from head to toe. This particular scene was with Kingpin and it's possible that Vincent D. Can't do fight choreography very well, which would explain why it shot the way that was.
That being said, most of Finn's fights were shot like the clip you showed.

Right. And why could they shoot scenes in Daredevil head to toe? Because he wears a mask. When a stunt man is doing the stunts in a mask, it makes it easier to edit. Danny isn't wearing a mask yet. So they have to use editing tricks in order to disguise the parts that a double is doing. It's very simple. When Iron Fist gets his mask, it will no doubt be different. You are basically criticizing the show for something that is unavoidable, as the scene in Daredevil proves.

Then they should've put Danny in a mask, so a stunt double could do what Finn Jones obviously cant. Plus, in DD season1 Charlie Cox wore a snug black shirt, had a mask that covered half of his face. You can tell the difference in his physique from the stunt double.
Even if Charlie Cox only did 2% of his stunts, it was shot well enough that you couldn't tell. That's what a good editor does, make the actor look good/convincing.
I realize you don't like DD, I wasn't a HUGE fan of it either, but the fact is, it had better fights. They were clear, brutal, exciting and convincing.

I liked Daredevil season 2. I found the first season painfully boring. He doesn't wear a mask because it would make no sense within the story. The story is more important than the stunts. Daredevil season 1 had one great fight scene. That's not enough to carry a 13 hour season. I found the rest of the fights boring. Maybe the Nabu fight was a bit better. But still, nothing that impressed me.

Two fights without the mask. There's others, but I'm to lazy to find them all. Doesnt matter, the fact is.unmasked fights stoll happened and Charlie did a good job. Honorable mention, the unmasked fight between Electra and DD in the gym.
