As we all know, since Lynda Day George was on maternity leave during part of season seven, Barbara Anderson stepped in as replacement agent Mimi. Mimi had quite a different background compared to the other female IMF agents. I believe that in her first appearance she was let out of federal prison to participate in the mission, and as a result of her helping, she was freed and taken off parole. Jim then offered her a place on the team while Casey was on another assignment. What was your opinion of Mimi?

She certainly was. In fact, there's a scene where she comes onto the bridge wearing almost nothing. You can imagine the reaction of the male officers!

How are you doing Maria? It's not like you to take a break from posting here for so long so I'm starting to worry. Hopefully it's just a matter of me boring people with my uninteresting posts lol. Please stop by and say hello when you get a chance just to put my mind at ease that you're ok

What a lovely post! Thank you! I'm okay. I have been distracted by world events, and because I have tinnitus, which makes it difficult to concentrate sometimes.

Ok glad to hear you're ok! Sorry about your tinnitus though that must be hard. No pressure here for you to post or anything, but as I said I just had to make sure

No pressure at all! Going a little OT, an IMDB reviewer said that the IMF were in one way antiheroes because they used a lot of the same methods as the bad guys did (with the major exception of murder) to accomplish the mission. What do you think about this?

That's interesting. I'd never thought of it that way. The way I see it, this team would be the ultimate heroes. In the case of the IMF missions, the stakes are just so high with entire country's fates hanging in the balance. In some cases multiple countries. So they have to play by a different set of rules to save America and other countries. Plus the type of people they're dealing with are on a completely different level than the average criminal so conventional methods and being handcuffed by a certain set of rules would make it extremely difficult if not impossible to complete these missions. True there's times where they end setting up a scenario where a very dangerous person gets killed by other people, but end up possibly saving millions of lives and a country in the process of completing their mission. That's just the way I see it.

I agree with you. The interesting thing to me that is when they were able to convince the bad guys that they had advanced technology like diamond, money making machines (and in one season 4 episode, ESP!) I loved watching the bad guys buy them and then find out they were duds! That was so cool!

That is one of the many awesome aspects of the show. Because they use everybody's greed and hunger for power against them which helps to convince them of these things.

exactly! I love how they manipulate the bad guys to shoot each other. Although I remember in season 1 Dan got shot in the episode The Legacy.

Yeah that's a familiar theme. You hear the gunshots as the team is making their exit. That's where I think of the old saying "it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy" lol. I think that's been happening more and more in season 4 with the episodes I"ve been watching. Or maybe not more than the other seasons but it just seems like it.

What I started noticing in Season Five is instead of leaving the scene quickly and quietly at the end, at the end of the episode the team would make sure they were standing discreetly out of sight, but where the bad guy(s) could see them. I call it the "you've been IMF'ed"scene. It started to happen more in season six. I haven't got season seven yet, so I can't tell if happens in that season.
