I watched about 20 to 25 minutes of it but it didn't draw me in. The sets looked cheap and there was no background music, which was a little weird. Anyway, it's only the first episode and I hope it succeeds. I really don't have the time right now to follow it though.

Just watched the first two episodes. Overall loved it. Hope it gets a little more crazier with the soap drama, lol. But I like the cast. Characters seem good. There were some hokey moments, but I think that’s just growing pains/getting used to things. Very interested in seeing where things go.

So what do you think the deal with Martin is? Since TPTB refer to Nicole's youngest child as a 'miracle baby', I think Martin was adopted. Maybe rescued from an abusive home & that is what the drama will be (The family having to protect him, his nightmares, etc.)? I guess I'm wrong about him being rescued from an abusive home. I think now he accidentally killed someone in a car crash (but blocked it out)? But I still think he was adopted.
Loved it when Dani slugged Hayley,

Yeah, I can definitely see the car crash/manslaughter thing. Probably something along those lines. He did something bad that he blocked out. His family helped cover it up and Bill was apart of it.
I like the Dani character a lot too. I think she needs a good fling with a younger man herself, lol.
Bill seems like he’s gonna be a good antagonist.

Overall I thought it was a really strong first week. They set everything up really well. Gonna be tough keeping up with 3 soaps now, but I’m game, lol.

I'm still on the fence. I'm unhappy with the storyline about a 'rich & powerful' family giving into blackmail. Anybody with half a brain knows that once you give in, the blackmailer has you by the 'short & curlies' & there is no going back.
I think the whole ending scene was just Dani daydreaming? I can't see her actually shooting someone in front of all those witnesses. I could be wrong?

The scene where Vernon was telling Bill they were even now, I think we all know it isn’t. What’s to stop him from playing that card again? But blackmail is kinda just apart of soaps. The real thing they gotta do is find a way to neutralize Bill.
I think the ending could be a day dream sequence. It felt kinda sudden.

And a bit overdramatic!

Well it wasn’t a dream, lol. That was definitely the oddest resolution I think I’ve ever seen to someone holding someone else at gun point. Dani really just walked away. No police not anyone tried to stop her. I don’t think it’s over yet with the live stream being seen.

And the press conference at the country club (although why didn't they have it at their home?).
I missed the first 38 minutes, once again I forgot it was on. I would have liked to see the chaos after the gunshot.

I wanted to say this last week but I was hoping I was imagining it!
THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY COMMERCIALS!

I haven’t looked at the run time yet, but I think an average episode of GH is usually about 36 minutes. I think there are two reasons behind that. For one, the more commercials they add the more money they can make. A primetime drama usually runs for about 42 minutes. So I think those 6 more minute of commercials helps keep soaps profitable.
Secondly, they have a lot of air time to fill being on 5 days a week. So shaving off minutes likely helps them expand the show over the 5 days.

A couple of people at Soap.com said that they DVR it & without the commercials, the run time is 24 minutes! That just confirms my statement.

That’s pretty crazy it being 24 minutes. That’s more that 50% of the time spent on commercials. They could at least try for 30 minutes.

Today's episode was a total BORE! Cracks me up though that on Eva's first day on the job, she is already gone home before it's even lunch time.
