Discuss Twin Peaks

Wasn't that a strange scene? My second favorite scene of the episode after the midget. Do you think perhaps that guy is a doppelganger with magic powers?

We heard a reference made to a LINDA, but I've also forgotten what it was and what the connection is. She's the wife or girl friend or the daughter or relative or something of someone.

I can't recall either....

2 BIRDS with ONE STONE sounds like it must also mean there's a connection of some kind between Richard and LINDA.

Maybe she's his girlfriend or his mother?

Could be. Someone on here said maybe Audrey Horne is Richard's mom.

He does look like a bird.

Hey gals, please don't take offense to this but for organizational purposes for easier reference look up could you please start a new thread when bringing up something new? I know I have been guilty of the same thing, I know, but as you can see I have tried to make new threads when it occurs to me. Not only that, it also increases the chances of new users to get pulled into a thread and start posting.

Ok - you are right, I will try and remember to start a new thread.

Just found this but haven't had a chance to read it yet:

http://www.seattlepi.com/news/article/Twin-Peaks-Seriously-Why-the-Heck-Are-Linda-and-11223953.php

So don't blame me if it contains SPOILERS.

as of Part 6, we've met Richard and heard of Linda, so we're getting somewhere with finding out why they're important. We can finally, definitively rule out that they're Richard and Linda Thompson, the folk rock duo behind songs like "Wall of Death."

And Linda is the unseen wife of Mickey (Jeremy Lindholm), Carl's (Harry Dean Stanton) fellow passenger on the ride from the New Fat Trailer Park into town.

All we know about Linda so far is that she finally got the electric wheelchair from the government that she needs after suffering some kind of injury while at war.

As for how they're connected, that remains to be seen

Thank You ! @Invidia

So RED is the name of the DRUG DEALER who does the MAGIC TRICK on RICHARD.

And RICHARD is the guy who killed the YOUNG BOY and is working for RED.

And LINDA is the WIFE of the guy who was with CARL (who also saw the YELLOW LIGHT come from the boy and go up to the sky).

And LINDA also got an ELECTRIC WHEEL CHAIR for some kind of DISABILITY she has

Exactly.

I didn't think we had actually met a LINDA, I remembered the story he told but completely missed that his wife's name is LINDA.

(which I'm guessing may also pick up signals like the one that we heard coming from POLE number 6 that was making BUZZING noises when the young boy died)?

Could be. LINDA character should be very interesting.

@Invidia said:

You're welcome SCORP.

Perhaps you can begin a NEW TOPIC about LINDA and her ELECTRIC WHEEL CHAIR?

Maybe later wink

My bet is it's going to BUZZ or pick up signals or something the same way as POLE NUMBER 6 was doing after the death of the young boy.

Maybe we'll also meet her tonight when her husband comes home again with Carl (who he also gave a ride into town)?

Wonder what her connection to RICHARD will be?

Maybe his sister?

TWINS?

Hence the TWO BIRDS with ONE STONE reference???

That would be great! I REALLY LIKE the twins theory !

If LINDA's WHEEL CHAIR picked up a message and she heard someone say:

THE COW JUMPED OVER the MOON

You really are SO GOOD at this!

@Invidia said:

It comes from the STUDY of INLAND EMPIRE. You study something LYNCH created long enough and your brain begins to think like his.

I still have not gotten a chance to watch it yet.

AND I think your other theories may be good.

@Invidiasaid:

Apparently not so good after all ... why didn't you just explain yesterday how the mother was playing a game of TAG with her son right before the boy is killed ...

Yes you are good! And I think I was honestly so wrapped up in defending MY IDEA that Miriam was a good person AND she MAY have been bringing coffee to that mom- that I had forgotten that they were playing a game ( and this actually dawned on me when I re watched the episode again last night) and she was not really teaching him to be self- sufficient like you said. There is just SO MUCH to try to remember!

where he runs ahead of her and then waits for her to catch up to him again before he runs ahead of her again?

So he dies because that's what's going on again in the scene where she waits while he crosses the road alone?

She lets him go ahead of her again so she can catch up to him again?

Weird game.

I thought so too, especially for someone of his age- it seems better fitted to play that game with a younger child/toddler (of course not out in the streets though).

When all one sees is her letting the boy cross the street alone without her, without seeing the game they're playing before that, you get the impression she's teaching him to be independent.

Invidia, I did not know that you had not seen the previous scenes , I figured you were just theorizing.

The reviewers also suggest that the YELLOW LIGHT might represent the GARMONBOZIA that is coming from the MOTHER after the death of her son. So that's also an interesting idea as well. Because that's also what BOB FEEDS off of.

I had copied/pasted something someone from You Tube said similar to this, can't remember which TP thread it's in.

@Invidia said:

Wait until you see who walks down the hallway of the morgue or the hospital where they're checking out the headless body.

grin

I was going to start new thread like Movie Nazi said ( I still am about other stuff)

Was that who I thought it was???? ** BOB**

Because that was also him in Episode 1(and I pointed this out before in another thread-don't know which) sitting in that jail cell (2 cells down from murderer Bill Hastings)and then he disappears.

When I saw him walking down the hall I thought he looked like he was covered in chimney soot.
