Wasn't that a strange scene? My second favorite scene of the episode after the midget. Do you think perhaps that guy is a doppelganger with magic powers?

Yes, it really was intriguing. I thought Richard Horne would choke to death on the dime, after the way he treated that girl at the bar- I was hoping.
I thought it was odd back in episode 1 when he made that hand gesture
at Shelly and friends at the bar.

Yeah, I wondered about that. Do you think she knew him?
Na, you're looking way too deep into it. I doubt she would tip simply to get it to Bob's hands like you said. She could simply be a mule of some sort although I am not getting that impression. Plus she was the one who made contact with Horne when he evaded the accident with the little boy. I think if she was involved in the drug trade in tiny ass Twin Peaks then Horne would probably know her.

Yes, it was kinda ambiguous as to whether or not they knew each other.

I don't believe the woman who left the tip is involved in ANYTHING except eating pies and being a school teacher- and of course she is now eyewitness to Richard's hit and run of a child- who may have been one of her students.

Is only MY opinion. I don't know WHY would LYNCH and FROST chose to POINT that FACT out to us- they point out a WHOLE lot of things- she obviously loves PIE-does that also HAVE to MEAN something? So she left a big tip- they didn't say it was $1000, they didn't say what it was-so we don't KNOW and I don't think that was the whole reason behind that entire scene- that is MY opinion.
and BTW- the woman who loves pie and left the tip( episode 6 ) did not hear the conversation between Norma and Shelly about Becky asking for money (episode 5) , she was not even in the diner at the time.
Who said THAT'S ALL she does? Just because she is a character we have met doesn't mean she has to be involved in drugs or ANYTHING unscrupulous. She's a school teacher-and of course she is now eyewitness to Richard's hit and run of a child- who may have been one of her students
Doesn't mean she HAS to have a connection to THE PART of the show YOU ARE SAYING, does it?
Doesn't HAVE to be for the reason YOU think.

BECAUSE she ordered 2 cups of coffee to go- **one decaf for herself and the other regular for one of the moms - and just MAYBE it could have been for the mom whose child was hit and run over by Richard. Who also may have been one of her students- which would tie her in to that whole scene and the tip she left was meant to display to us how nice of a person she really is- because I think Richard will try to kill/ kill her .
I am watching the show as it airs and then I always re watch the episodes several times over, so I did catch it when she asked for the 2 cups-it was pointed out as you would say.
Answered above. No biggie- She was on her way to teach school. You really do OVER-analyze EVERY SINGLE issue.
If nice, sweet and bubbly pie eating Mariam (that's her name-not sure of how she spells it) turns out to be involved in ANY wrong doing- I will say YOU were absolutely right- which I have done before, that's NO problem at all for ME.
And I think thinking like a DETECTIVE does not involve contributing or theorizing evidence of wrong doing where there is obviously and absolutely no indication of any whatsoever.
Most definitely.
And I happen to like both TEA and COFFEE- decaf

I with you Scorp, I think Miriam is simply a pudgy, RR pie addicted, happy go-lucky kindergarten teacher. Invidia does indeed over analyze but that contribution is needed in a show like this. She is also only watching the show through you tube clips of people giving their own analyzation so she is not in fact actually able to watch the show so she will miss a lot of tidbits like Miriam mentioning she is buying the coffee for "One of the moms that loves RR coffee" .

What? does this EVEN MEAN? Of course she's standing outside with the coffee- how else would she take it to the mom she ordered it for? The mom and boy were on their way to school they would meet her there- they had NO WAY of knowing kid was going to be mowed down.
SO YES.
The mom and boy were on their way to school they would meet her there- they had NO WAY of knowing kid was going to be mowed down .
That IS * exactly* THE reason Sherlock.
YES, AND some are even relatives. Maybe you act SUSPICIOUS so it's what you have gotten.
So do I, you would SEE some things better and clearer instead of going all off the track.
The mom and boy were on their way to school they would meet her there- they had NO WAY of knowing the kid was going to be mowed down .
AND as I said before (which you obviously did not read) The DECAF was for HERSELF.

I can't recall at the moment to give you an actual list- but you have cleared up things on different series for me and explained a lot and you have been right , like I said I have no problem admitting when I am wrong- but I don't think I am on this one, and I DO think you are making too much of the situation.

I am still saying MAYBE ( <--note the word maybe) Miriam was taking coffee to that mom- as of yet, you can't PROVE that she was not and I am NOT saying she DEFINITELY WAS. That was just MY theory.
Miriam being a good person, not involved in any wrong doing- I believe this to be true and we have been given NO REASON at all to think otherwise.
Yes we shall see , won't we?
@Invidia said:
This is NOT true AT ALL. I know some grade (elementary) school teachers who drink decaf all day and never touch caffeine.
AND as I said before (which you STILL obviously did not read) The DECAF was for HERSELF.
This is not my theory but a fact:
Miriam actually said and I quote, "One decaf for MYSELF..."
AND it is also mine- but I specifically meant stop this "One could argue to say the HIT and RUN driver once had her for his teacher," is just too far out and you provided the reason why yourself..

Now on to something new-I have questions from episode 1 (and I realize of course not all has been revealed, so it's just theory and speculation).
I don't think this has been discussed (if so I missed it) :
The TALL MAN says to Cooper,
"Remember 430. Richard and Linda... 2 birds with one stone."
Cooper replies, "I understand."
We have met a Richard- Richard Horne, I don't remember a Linda, What do you THINK this message means?

Yes, but it's been a while, I have seen BLUE VELVET, and I know LYNCH'S style- but that does NOT mean that is what he is doing with Miriam.
Because some people, like myself, CANNOT have caffeine. We drink it for the flavor/taste, and ALL TEA is not caffeine-free.

Hey gals, please don't take offense to this but for organizational purposes for easier reference look up could you please start a new thread when bringing up something new? I know I have been guilty of the same thing, I know, but as you can see I have tried to make new threads when it occurs to me. Not only that, it also increases the chances of new users to get pulled into a thread and start posting.
