Not a good start.
What I liked: The new workroom. The diversity of the contestants. The new female judge.
What is I didn't like:
Bland host. Bland mentor. The male judge, trying way too hard to be funny.
The fashion: A good, not great runway. I think I'd have gone with the other top look for the win.
Now to the worst of the worst: O M G they didn't send that blue bodysuit home. I get the feeling that it was because she is nice and nobody likes the WASP princess. Another decision like that and I may not continue.

Final collections:
It must have been difficult to choose a winner. Not because they were so good or so bad, but each such a mixed bag. They all had stunners and throw aways.
Shockingly, I would have gone with Victoria. Yes you read that right. She did several versions of her signature look but they looked great as part of a collection. Her new dress was to die for.
I have very mixed feelings about Geoffrey's win. It was dark, which they called Nancy out for. He did dial back the styling, which helped him. I got a vague feeling of messiness about it, not in a good way.
Nancy had some beautiful pieces but I agree with the judges that there wasn't enough tailoring. Her consult really showed her weakness. She hasn't identified her target market and customer yet. I wish the best though.
I wasn't feeling Sergio's at all. His were the best made for sure, but from his overall inspiration to eack individual look it fell flat for me.

Yazz to Victoria's new dress. I did like the pink dress Asia was wearing, the second outfit, and the hoodie jumpsuit. With that said, the pieces didn't seem to be in the upper echelon of high end.
Loved Geoffrey’s silver-blue brocade. The black trench coat-dress was rich. Those were all that I liked.
Nancy's collection had the fabric doing the work, cool fabrics, but the actual design themselves are nothing that special. I agree about what was pointed out that she had many redundant pieces.
Sergio's collection was well crafted but odd. I can't see anyone wanting to wear those garments, not even older women.

I so agree!
Honestly, it seems as if I've seen that "new dress" before, but it is still nice to look at.
To me, I surprised he didn't get called out for copying Jamall's look.
Jamall's look
Yes, she seems to jump to inclusivity out of just one episode. Personally, I think she should have focussed on one challenge, her designs. I noticed with the girl with the artificial leg that the back of her dress was higher in the back. There was no reason for that, because the dress was really beautiful.
His craftsmanship showed in his old western designs, but he only had one good look, and that was the A-line off the shoulder dress.

I feel the same about Sergio's. Who would wear those?

Maybe in some type of weird stage play? A loony costume ball? I am just glad the prick didn't win.
Geoffrey's huge fat black puffy coat reminded me of the trash bag Missy Elliott wore in her 'I Can't Stand The Rain' video.
I was not impressed by anyone, nothing was memorable or wowed me the whole season.

Well, we are back early. We got all the way to Montreal and Costume-Con was canceled, so we spent three days driving back. A lot of other folks were in the air when the decision (required by the Canadian PM) and they were stuck there for several days while flights were re-booked. Jonnieblack, we're sorry the Ice Skating was canceled as well. If we had had more time and budget we really would have liked to see it as well.
So, just saw the finale tonight. We actually thought all four collections were good. I preferred Nancy's and my wife liked Geoffrey's, so she is definitely happy. I am okay since I thought both of them were strong.
Victoria's surprised us. Even her signature looks seemed fresher. The new dress really wowed us. Poetist, you may be correct that it has been seen before; however Nina was often stretching to find references that some of the looks have been modeled on so I think she would have pointed it out if it was referential.
We're glad Sergio did not win. His looks were technically perfectly made, but they still largely seemed nineteenth century. And while we will agree that the color palette was lovely we did not get his story and, as we have said before, we are really tired that Sergio has to have a political story for everything.
All the collections had stories, but it would have been nice if Sergio had given us a personal story for his collection.

Worlds cancelation was crushing for me. Not unexpected and obviously the right decision but I was just walking around numb all day. It's my super bowl!
Good news is that everything except perhaps one flight has been refunded.
Thanks for thinking of me.😊

Project Runway and the NBA are my Superbowl, so I know how you feel. Dangit! The NBA started all of this closed for the season mess.

Here's a sneak peek at it:
If you want, you can watch for free on Netflix for 30 days by entering an email address. I have a lot of free time on my hand due to the Coronavirus.

We watched the first episode of both Next Fashion Star and Tim and Heidi's new show Making the Cut.
We think the budget on Next Fashion Star must be low compared to Project Runway or Making the Cut. Having to move the workroom into the green room area so they could build the stage in the original work area was a poor choice. We can't disagree with the eliminated design.
Making the Cut obviously has a much higher budget. We strongly disagreed with the winning design though we didn't with the eliminated designer.
Do we want to move conversations on those shows to their own boards?
