Bespreek The Big Bang Theory

TBBT guys played Dungeons and Dragons, and I've seen it played on other shows (Freaks and Geeks and Stranger Things). I've always felt like an outsider looking in during such scenes. It's like a secret world that I know nothing about.

1.Have you ever played D&D?

2.If you enjoy it, what appeals to you most about it?

3.What is your favorite game if only board games and card games are considered? (No new-fangled computer or video games.)

Me: Clue

4.What game takes the longest to play in your own experience: D&D, Risk or Monopoly?

Me: I've only played Risk and Monopoly, and I'm not sure I've ever gotten to the end of either.

What happens if you land on one of those aisles that has one of those yellow cones shaped like the Washington Monument that warns you of the wet floor? Are penalties imposed?

You have to ask the Monkey Master. That's not me. Also clean up on aisle 5.

Hey Lemons

It's almost the weekend. Will you be allowed out to play?

To your questions:

1.Have you ever played D&D?

Yes I do. It's just a glorified version of let' pretend. I think you'd like it.

2.If you enjoy it, what appeals to you most about it?

Having said that, it all depends on the people you are with. If you get the right group it can be fun.

3.What is your favorite game if only board games and card games are considered? (No new-fangled computer or video games.)

Oh my, that depends on the mood I'm in but I lean heavily toward historical wargames. That way I can pretend it's educational.

That game that Sheldon had everybody playing really does exist. It's not Risk and I don't feel like digging out the name, but it does take up a room, has thousands of pieces and rules that cover every single detail. The word "tedious" come to mind.

This is NOT it but it will give you some idea:

1) Yes, though I never really got into it. I did play other tabletop RPGs such as Call of the Cthulhu, Vampire - The Masquerade and Cyberpunk (amongst others) fairly regularly back when I had the time.

2) As someone else said, it's "let's pretend" with rules so there's a challenge. That said, one of the reasons I never really got into D&D was that the players I met tended to be very into the rules part. The appeal to me was to tell a fun story (if running the game) or have fun if playing. Take a look here for some idea of the breadth of available games: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/

3) N/A. Prefer Playstation/PC/Phone

4) D&D: https://lfpress.com/news/local-news/londoners-dungeons-and-dragons-game-has-been-swinging-swords-for-38-years

I think we could have fun playing D&D together. I like playing let's pretend. If we played together, I'd like to go on an adventure where we climbed upon a dragon's back and flew around with the wind whipping through our hair. Except the dragon can only fly 1 foot off the ground, so we'd need to be in a wide-open field. Is there a height-phobic version?

Sadly, the only way to get onto and off from a dragon is...

AN ESCALATOR!!!

Darn you for making me Google "Are there escalators in Dungeons and Dragons?"!!

Also, Tim's and my dragon is short.

We can all go to the park and recreate scenes from The Lord of the Rings. Just like Sheldon suggested when they found the Lord of the Rings ring. Who needs board games when we have our imagination and other park goers staring at us.

We can pretend Cinnamon is that giant flying dog from The Neverending Story!

I would actually do that with you, Z. Like for real. That's where we'll go after we get thrown out of the grocery store.

Little Dragon on the Prairie

I don't think we should try to ride Cinnamon, though. I don't see that ending well.

Honey I shrunk the Nerds so they can ride on Cinnamon

Who is "they"? I thought this was our adventure! You mean I don't get to be thrown out of a grocery store and ride on a flight-challenged dragon?
