Sheldon and Leonard had all kinds of collections in their apartment (comic books, superhero figures, etc.) and all kinds of whimsical décor (Rubik's cube tissue box, DNA strand). Their apartment is a place I'd like to go in and look around.

1.Is it odd that someone as rigid as Sheldon would have whimsical décor?

2.Name one thing that you collect.

3.Name one whimsical or quirky décor item you have.

Me: 1.I want to see how others answer this one.

2.I used to collect Coca Cola memorabilia until my kitchen became full of it.

3.The Coca-Cola clock in my kitchen that goes up and down to chime the time and a polar bear comes out.

1.Not really. When his mom had him tested she told the doctor about it. That's how the doctor knew Sheldon wasn't crazy. No person can be both.

2.Coffee mugs. (Used to have quite a collection of character glasses; but ran up on an extended "dry spell” and had to sell them.)

(3) "Oona". She is The Kitchen God's wife. She has a wooden stand on the window sill where she sits in her regal Raggedy Ann-like outfit and patiently watches over the kitchen.

Thank you for responding FKA! I think it's nice to have a touch of whimsy in the home amongst the more run-of-the-mill items. It shows a bit of our personality. slight_smile

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be stepping away from the board. I have a different position at work than I did when I posted in earlier times, and I'm finding it hard to post and get the old job done. I've enjoyed this latest round of message-boarding and wish everyone happy posting! yellow_heart lemon

Going to miss your creative Threads; and reading more of your comments on all things "Big Bang", et al. Just saying so long and good luck…not goodbye. “Who knows what the tide could bring.”

WAIT WHAT!?!?

I'm sorry but no. That is unacceptable. You're just going to have to make time. Tell your boss.

Already missing you. crying_cat_face

Yeah; especially on the "...misogynistic" Thread.

Unless, of course, your boss is a Bernadette-type; in which case all hope is lost! frowning_face

I just find it hard to believe that any job is so time consuming that you can't take a few minutes to visit with us. Even the Commander in Chief of the U.S. armed forces and Leader of the Free World has time to send out an occasional tweet.

You guys... you do know how to make a girl feel loved. yellow_heart I tell you what, although my job has me working 11 hour days M-F, Saturdays and Sundays are still my time to come up for air. I will post on weekends. It won't be the volume you're used to from me, but it will be something for me to look forward to after the work week is over. slight_smile

Well now that_ that's_ sorted out:

1.Is it odd that someone as rigid as Sheldon would have whimsical décor? 2.Name one thing that you collect. 3.Name one whimsical or quirky décor item you have.

  1. Sheldon does not have whimsical décor.

Everything is in its perfect place for a logical reason.

  1. I will name it Carlton

  2. That would be Maurice

We used to have squirrels in our back yard: Sam and Janet Evening, but they moved on.

First- THIS is the Tim I fell in love with on the IMDb board.

Next:

1.But they are perfectly-placed whimsical things. Instead of a plain Kleenex box he has a Rubik's cube tissue holder. Instead of something dull like a fake ficus tree in the corner, he has a strand of DNA.

2 and 3 and Squirrels. When a pile of clean underwear sits unfolded on the sofa for too long, I start calling it Kevin.

Penny has a whimsical collection of empty wine bottles. The rosé is called Janice. The chardonny is called Penelope. There is a bottle of tequila called Lene.

The empty bottle of hot sauce is named Z.

It's all a matter of framing.

Declare the sofa as the official storage space for underwear. One side for clean, one side for the "refreshingly personal". Make it known that it is better for underwear to not be folded. This allows the gotchies to breath and provides 17% more comfort to the wearer.

Option 2: Try this phrase: "You don't like it? You put 'em away."
