Sheldon and Leonard had all kinds of collections in their apartment (comic books, superhero figures, etc.) and all kinds of whimsical décor (Rubik's cube tissue box, DNA strand). Their apartment is a place I'd like to go in and look around.
1.Is it odd that someone as rigid as Sheldon would have whimsical décor?
2.Name one thing that you collect.
3.Name one whimsical or quirky décor item you have.
Me: 1.I want to see how others answer this one.
2.I used to collect Coca Cola memorabilia until my kitchen became full of it.
3.The Coca-Cola clock in my kitchen that goes up and down to chime the time and a polar bear comes out.

Carlton? Maurice? Are these squirrels too? I do not know every single obscure detail of the show. Not every line. A mean squirrel took my tiny hot dog.

When my family asks me why there's framed underwear on the wall, I'll refer them to you.

This discussion reminds of a former co-worker.
Most of us just get by with some pictures on the walls and/or a plant or two. But, this guy took whimsy to a new level. He had a full-size (in dance pose) "Blues Brothers" statue in his office. And, let’s not forget that when it comes to describing Jake or Elwood, homunculus is not a word that comes to mind.
Blues Brothers
I guess what to do about it was unchartered territory for upper management...so they just let it be. Kind of like Raj and his Big Desk.

OK...THAT is a story that needs to be told.

Notorious B.I.G.’s Plastic Crown Sells for $595,000 at Auction (Rolling Stone 9/16/20)
"A plastic crown worn by the Notorious B.I.G. during the rapper’s “King of New York” photoshoot — originally purchased for $6 before the March 1997 photograph was taken — sold for $595,000 Tuesday night at Sotheby’s first-ever auction dedicated to hip-hop memorabilia."
When it comes to purchases, think this would definitely register near the top on the whimsical scale.

Sheldon had that full-size statue thing he bought, despite Amy's objection. But I don't remember if it was Batman, or Spiderman, or someone else.
Leonard, of course, had the Storm Trooper.
