What would we have seen and heard that we didn't, or that was only alluded to during the show?
And is it possible to make a pure comedy in cinematic style?

Well, it probably wouldn't have lasted as many seasons, and there would have been maybe half the number of episodes per season, or less.
And I didn't need the full frontal nudity of Howard and Raj feeling each others' "breasts."

Not sure what you mean by that. Sorry

I was recently told that shows like Breaking Bad/GOT/Sopranos, etc. are "cinematic" in nature. Whatever that means. I was trying to sound like I knew what I was talking about. But all the successful Netflix and HBO series like those seem to be dramas. They have some comedic moments peppered in, but overall shows like that are dramas. So is it possible to make a comedy in the style of/with the success of those series?
I bet if TBBT was a Netflix series we would have seen what REALLY happened that night with Penny and Raj!

Nothing happened with Penny and Raj that anyone should see. Even Penny blocked it out of her memory.
Cinematic means you were talking to film nerds who have to make television sound like movies. I don't know what I am talking about.
There are successful comedy's on NF and HBO.

Netflix and HBO series focus in on a lot of the little details. Maybe we would have gotten some scenes of Mrs. Gunderson watering her plants. And maybe it would finally have been revealed why the plant was out in the hallway instead of inside of her apartment.

Maybe the show would be narrated by the plant. And on the last episode just as Sheldon gets his Noble the screen goes dark and soft kitty starts to play. That or John Snow fixes the elevator. With a great big sword.

Except Mrs Gunderson moved out before the end of the series. If you remember, Leonard and Sheldon and Raj went into her apartment by mistake, coming back from discovering that their gyroscope work had been "disappeared," probably because that plant was MISSING. And her apartment was empty.
But I guess the plant could be narrating still from "plant heaven," similar to what was apparently the case with at least some of "Desperate Housewives."
I think seeing Penny in the green makeup once, might have been interesting.

Well Mrs Gunderson must have taken the plant with her then. 🌱🌿

Well we did see Penny and Leonard covered in paint in that one scene with the body painting. As well as maybe in a paintball scene.

Did we? I evidently forgot that. I remember Howard and Bernadette painted to be Smurfs.
Oh you mean that one where they put on paint and then had sex on a "canvas" to make a "sex painting?" Not quite the same.

Paint is paint. 🎨🖌️👨🎨👩🎨🖼️

Paint may be paint. But the make-up job of a "green orion animal slave woman" isn't just paint in spots to be deposited on a bed-canvas.

I don't see Penny getting a professional make up job just for Leonard. All she has to do is smear some left over Halloween makeup on and he'll be ready to go. Still it would have been interesting to see her that way. What do you say to an Orion anyways.

"You're g'deen?"
Maybe just "It's g'deen?"

Maybe a shot of
Leonard waking up next to the rich old patron of the school, and then him slinking out of there (I know he slunk). We see them kissing in the car and next we see Leonard coming up the stairwell to his apartment and meeting Penny who
and mocks him about, what she called, the “walk-of-shame”.
Of course, I understand why the show wouldn’t do it; spring for the cost of a one-time-use set of a rich old lady’s boudoir.
Plus, it is only an 18-minute show.
Even so, morning-after-first-wake-up-moments are often comedic gold.
