1.Did it seem odd to you that Amy so quickly agreed to take emotion out of the wedding party planning process and use empirical metrics? Isn't she usually the one who balances Sheldon's robotic ways and makes him take people's feelings into consideration?

2.Is it surprising to you that two academics like Sheldon and Amy are getting this into the minutia of their wedding planning?

3.Leonard is Sheldon's best friend and everyone has always known that. Why did he need to test all three guys for the role?

4.Who should have been the one to tell Bernie that Amy chose Penny? Amy or Penny? (Penny ended up having to.)

5.Not that it matters but neither Bernie nor Penny will be Amy's maid of honor (as stated on the show). However, Penny will be her Matron of Honor. She is married. Wonder why they didn't use that term? Oversight, or because "matron" sounds kind of old?

6.If you could have a code word, what would it be?

Comment: Young Sheldon adds depth to TBBT. When Sheldon was talking about making Georgie his best man last night, I knew exactly who he was talking about, and when he described him, I understood why he said the things he did. I liked it!

Well, since Young Sheldon exists, obviously they could use it. But if it didn't, Sheldon would have just had to add more exposition to what he said on TBBT. Or maybe not talked about Georgie at all. Nothing really special or magical about it, if that's what you were getting at.

I just thought it was nice that I could make that connection. It didn't cause me to do pirouettes in the cul-de-sac.

Fair enough. But I wonder if people who didn't/don't watch Young Sheldon, got enough information just from what he said on the TBBT episode. That could be a problem especially for TBBT if they assume a lot of their audience is watching both shows regularly.

Lemons. Your post is longer than the episode. So many questions. clipboard
As for Georgie. Sheldon is a jerk. Georgie can't be al that bad. Compared to his sibling. Also what role should Missy play in the wedding ?

I'm sorry Z. I actually had more than that and cut some out. I knew it was too long. I'll try to do better next time.

Maybe Missy can be flower matron.

And then, to further mess with Sheldon, she can have her next baby at the wedding. grinning

-1. Not really. She was stuck and couldn't make a decision. I can see her clutching-at-straws in order to find a way out.

-2. They are nerds; the limits you are talking about are for "normal" people.

-3. I also wondered about that. But, I'm thinking that Sheldon-being-Sheldon just wouldn't want "the best friend" but "the best man" among his friends.

-4. Sheldon. He is such an innocent, Bernie would have held him blameless. But, Penny was a good choice; she is a salesperson (great at her job); so, spinning it shouldn't have been a problem for her.

-5. Someone probably sleeping on that one.

-6. Could never do a code word. Have one at work--never can remember the damn thing. fearful The most I can remember is the letter it starts with; so, if it ever comes over the system, I'll have to take my clue from my fellow workers.

Sheldon talked about Georgie and Missy before Young Sheldon - it's no secret how he felt (and continues to feel) about them.

I think YS is actually downplaying the friction between them, unless, much like George Senior's future unseemly behavior, we just haven't gotten to the bad stuff yet.

Young Sheldon is Anakin Skywalker and Old Sheldon is Darth Vader. I really don't need to see how the one turns into the other.

Well, we've seen Sheldon put the blanket over his head and play the ominous music. He becomes Emperor Palpatine, not Vader.

joy

Yes, for all of Sheldon's supposed admiration of being just another intimidating, bullying faceless cog in the huge Empire machine, he always really expects to be the boss (Emperor) not a servant (Storm Trooper, or even Vader).

Thank you, FKA, for answering all of my questions. I know my OP was voluminous, but they really were things that I was wondering about, so I appreciate it.

1.I see what you're saying.

2.What I was getting at with this question is that I'm surprised they're spending so much time on non-essential details like flower girl and first dance (etc.). Amy is usually one to be understated and simple (ex: her clothes, her hair, her fascination with prairie days) and I'm a little surprised she wants an elaborate wedding. And I figured that Sheldon would see all of this wedding planning as pure poppycock (as is anything that is not physics or train-related). However, in thinking about it more, a wedding is a day that is all about yourself, and I can see Sheldon lapping up that aspect of it. And based on Amy's reaction to the tiara, I guess every now and then she does like to feel like princess for a day.

3.I also see what you're saying here.

4.Of Amy and Penny, I think it should have been Amy. I think she took advantage of the maid-of-honor thing a bit. I've been matron of honor twice and never had to do things like that. Just hold the bouquet and move the dress train. But agreed, Sheldon would have been a great choice to break the news.

5.I wondered if perhaps Kaley didn't want them to use the term "matron" because it sounds old and unbecoming. Like "matronly".

6.For me it would be "mushrooms" because there is really nothing better in this world. Not even chocolate.

-4. At first, I thought Amy; but, then, I thought: well, Amy isn't responsible for Bernie's assumptions.

Sheldon asked Stuart, so it was his responsibility to un-ask him. Not so, with Amy; she never asked Bernie, never said that if Bernie let her be the maid of honor, she would do the same.

DON'T KNOW; so have to ask: When folks choose a maid/matron of honor do they notify all their other close friends to let them know they didn't make the cut, OR is that just TV goings-on?

-5. Not that I believe every awful thing I hear about Team Chucky; but the word on the street is that actors have to treat EVERY word as if it came from "The Burning Bush". So, I doubt Kaley had a say. I'm thinking more likely it's something that fell through the cracks.

1) No, Amy is liable to change her approach and remove emotion when it suits the situation, she's a scientist after all.

2) They Tried to ignore the minutiae and have a quick office wedding, and it felt too empty. I think their feelings for each other run deeper then they realized.

3) Making things more difficult than they have to be is Sheldon's trademark. And Leonard is his best friend mostly because he tolerates him most, not because he's his stand out companion. Amy and Penny are different because IMO Penny is her standout companion.

4)Amy should have told her herself. I would be really hurt if my best friend didn't choose me for her maid of honor and vice versa, even moreso if I had to learn it from a secondhand source.

5) NOBODY I know uses that term, and I doubt the average person knows that the title changes if you're married.

6)Mousetrap. It's also my safe word. 😜
