Discuss The Big Bang Theory

1)Sheldon and Amy have dull conversations 2) Penny and Leonard engage in petty bickering 3) Raj is emotionally needy

This is pretty much the same formula they've been reliant on for weeks now. It would be great if they would abandon it because it's getting boring.

I'm if writing this show the next few episodes would move away from this completely.

Courtney Cox had some sub-par unfunny show on TBS.

I just have to say, I LOVE Cougar Town. Funny show, very underrated in my opinion. It ran for six seasons and 102 episodes, which really is not too shabby. But of course, I agree it doesn't match Friends in level of success. Still, I feel it's a show Courtney Cox should be proud of.

I think I might start watching that. I saw the previews and thought it might be funny.

@Gothish520 I was about to write the shame thing. That show was cute and funny and an easy watch.

I agree that the show has gotten very repetitive. I think they wrote themselves into a corner by putting all of the characters in long-term relationships except for Raj. They should have followed the Friends formula and kept one central couple at a time while the other characters were single and/or having other issues. Sheldon and Amy are still my favorite couple, but they should have kept them broken up for longer than they did. Keeping them separated would have opened up the possibility for different storyline ideas for the two (other than the relationship drama that we see with Leonard and Penny.)

Uhm, the last few seasons were indeed crap. I don't really care to read your post, it won't change my opinion.

At least you know that it's your opinion, and not a fact. I personally enjoyed Seinfield down to the last episode. And I consider it one of the few shows that actually did its show justice by the way they ended it. Only two other shows matched the quality of their final episode. Breaking Bad and The Shield.

Well, there were three more seasons of the same (?) and it ended with everyone - except for Raj - getting married.

Are there still dull conversations and bickering after the wedding?

Probably.

Will this show be the 'highlight' of the actors' career?

Time will tell.

How does this compare to the other comedy shows (sitcoms) mentioned in this thread: "Seinfeld (1989-1998)" and "Friends (1994-2004)"?

I liked all three shows. Especially "Seinfeld"; I can easily rewatch each episode time and time again. The relationships in "Friends" started to irk me after a while, although there are some episodes that I won't mind viewing again.

I think because I watched the show so much for so many years, and talked about it so much on message boards, that's why these days when I see it on TV I just flip on past it. Doesn't mean that I didn't like the show. I loved it. But I'm not sure I can re-watch it again. Maybe in a few years I could rewatch the first four seasons.

I do think that the Big Bang Theory will be the highlight of many of their careers.

I honestly kept watching it after a while so that I could post on the message board. As Rabbit once said, watching the show was kind of like assigned reading for posting on the board. It became that for me eventually.

If you compare the whole series to toast, the first four seasons were like toast with butter and some delicious jelly. As the years went on, the jelly came off, and then the butter, and the last few years were pretty much dry toast.

Still, I will always remember this show fondly and the first four years were comedic gold.

That's Gold, Lemons, gold! Hey that's a funny word gold can I use that? Seriously did everyone get their final grade from The Big Bang Theory Advanced class. I got a B minus but after I turned in my term paper on Zazzy Asymmetry I raised it to a B+.
All I know now is that Sheldon will be there for you or maybe not, he's a busy man.

I won't be accepting anything less than an A+ personally. I did a lot of extra credit.
