讨论 行尸走肉

Seinfeld.

The Sopranos.

Mad Men.

These are three modern-era TV shows that had a clear sense of story and knew when to quit. They planned the final episode while their respective shows were enjoying fine ratings and reviews. The called it quits while their shows were still popular. They stemmed the supply while the demand remained high. And we can ever enjoy what they did through syndication.

If only TWD had emulated this.

If only.

What about True Blood and Dexter?

Never watched "Dexter" (should binge it I suppose) but was an avid "True Blood" fan and it was so sad to watch the show devolve into absurdity. Now I don't know if it over stayed it's welcome or if the books it was based on went out the faerie dust window, too, but whatever was real and cool about the show was long gone by the last season.

By all means, add to the list of examples. I certainly did not intend my list to be exhaustive, not at all.

As the these two specific shows, I don't know either of them. But if the support the point, wouldn't surprise me.

LOST. Still the best high concept show.

You got to watch Dexter.

The two main things I've heard a few things about this show are: A) it was spellbindingly terrific, but B) also went beyond its expiry date with a big fall-off of writing quality for last several seasons.

At any rate, I may take you up on the recommendation and check it out, thx!

Breaking Bad too. Superb and LOVED the final episode.

The Dexter final episode was such a huge freaking let down. Thanks a lot for reminding me how pissed off I was. 😤😞

Sons of Anarchy.

That end too was a major let down.

Did anyone watch Fringe? That show was awesome!

I wish it didn't end. I would love to start watching again from the pilot.

I wish House of Lies didn't end, but it really was a storybook ending, so that was kind of nice.

It was perfect. Loved every bit of it. Could not be any better.

And it is viewers like you that allow the networks\writers to get away with completely cop-out cliche endings to shows that should have been as inventive as the initial show was. It was all a dream? None of it happened? Ever see the movie "Jacob's Ladder"?? Ripped right off from it.
