Discuss The Walking Dead

That was the best episode in a long time!!! They really pulled out all the shots!!! I was holding my breath thinking that Daryl was going to get shot when he was on top of whatever he was standing on at the end, while looking around!!!

The "fluff" as you call it with Sasha seemed meaningful, being that it was her last show, and her fans probably appreciated it. The only problem I had with it is that it was so gloomy/morbid to watch her in that dark coffin, succumbing to Eugene's poison.

Certainly a nice little send-off for the actress but otherwise, immaterial to the story itself, at least for me. Her fans probably did appreciate it and all the power to them. After all, you can't please all the people, all the time.

I would add onto the issues you had with the ep the fact that Michonne, who's been proven to be a bad-ass over and over again, got the floor wiped with herself by that scavenger woman. It seemed just a bit out of character for her to get beaten to a pulp like that. When it was over, it looked like she had fallen off of the ugly tree, hit a bunch of branches on the way down, then bounced off of the ground and hit some more branches, and then did that again a few more times!

Heheheh. Seeing her swollen left eye initially reminded me of Glenn after he got the first knock to the head from Lucille.

But yes, it was completely out of character. Then again, perhaps that's just because we don't know the backstory of the garbage patch emo kids and their battle hardness.

Each to their own with how much this episode has entertained them but I have to wholeheartedly disagree with good writing and directing, etc. The writing has been absolutely rubbish. It was rubbish all season and they only improved slightly in this season finale.

There was still: 1) Too much fluff filler rubbish with Sasha's final moments in the coffin, flashing back to a cameo appearance by Abraham 2) Absolute crap about a tiger being so clever to know who was friend and who was foe 3) Gunfights within metres of one another but the opposing team were such crap shooters 4) Negan still having no issue with giving everyone the finger while the truck is being sprayed with bullets

I used to enjoy watching this series but this season has been ridiculously stretched thin. Thankfully, I record these things to watch them later and skim through the fluff, so I can get on with watching other shows which are more enthralling. But of course, I'm invested so heavily into this story that I can't just say that I'm done with TWD altogether and call it quits. I might take it one step further, as another viewer mentioned, and watch the first two episodes perhaps, then the mid-season finale, then repeat the process for the next half of the season. It would definitely be more efficient and if season eight is to be anything like season seven, I definitely will not have missed a thing.

I wasn't surprised Michonne had a hard time with that woman. I noticed when the two were talking about where to set up, that the scavenger woman looked pretty ripped. Muscular shoulders and neck, like an athlete or bodybuilder.

She sure did....

Maybe just starvation? :)

That was the writer's poor attempt at creating tension and it failed miserably for the very reason you mentioned. Did they honestly think that Michonne getting her ass handed to her by this scrub was believable? LOL. Fkn laughable is what it was.

Not ripped in that sense. I meant muscular like a weight-lifter. I remember thinking it was odd scavengers should look healthy and strong.

I know. I was just being a facetious little twat. grin

It took me a little while to realize that the shock shot of Michonne lying against the wall with her face all beaten up was really the "gruesome" moment for that ep. If you think about it, maybe every single episode of TWD has one good gruesome, disgusting part to it and Michonne's face was it for last Sunday.

I wanna see you and JRiddle discuss what you didn't like about the finale.

[@Jridle73], shall we?

He will outsmart you sure enough. He'll run circles around your logic. Nothing you could say would be more articulate and as educated as his.

Is that why you're not engaging in a healthy conversation with him?

But I'd like to see you try. Perhaps there will be some parts that you both disagree on. Then you could have a respectful disagreement and debate. You know. You like that type of stuff dontcha?

I certainly do.

I don't argue with JRiddle because I have a crush on him. But more importantly, I respect his opinion enough that there is no reason - at least in my mind - to challenge his expert opinion. But you go ahead since you like debating so much, since you enjoy criticizing tv shows.

I think that you're intimidated by his intelligence and that's the reason you aren't in his threads.

I really am through arguing with you. It's wasted time.

Who talks like that unless it's about themselves?

Just meet him at a glory hole and be done with it. dizzy_face

It was okay, some great moments bogged down by some boring, pointless moments. It should have had a normal runtime.

Agreed. We could have done without the flashback of Abe and Sasha and Sasha and Maggie. It was and OK episode, and I loved how Rick laid into Negan. I adore my Rickster!

I loved how Rick told neegan he will kill him.

Yeah, he keeps saying it, but he keeps not doing it. So stupid.

I liked the defiance. He knew Negan was about to kill his son and maim him, but he was past crying and begging.

He was willing to lose everything for the cause. Obviously if Negan killed Carl Rick would stop at nothing to destroy Negan. Negan seemed to be ready for the fight. No more Mr. Nice guy for Negan. I hope that the All Out War adaptation is worth the wait.

ABSOLUTELY!! This was decidedly different than the shaking, quivering Rick in the first ep of the season.

I think he figures that this is war and his son is a soldier so you can't hold this shit over him anymore.

Amen to that.
