Funny how NYP made a big deal about one man inviting a few models to a show via text. Weird that outlets don’t make a big deal about all the predators in the fashion industry. Why should models start at age 14? Why is it appropriate for a minor to be photographed naked or in sexy lingerie? My mom was hell no.

Make a big deal and they don’t post any inappropriate text. Invitation to a show/tix notification + reminder + a see you there after purchase = not inappropriate or uncommon.

No disrespect to anybody who’s a model or want to be a model. But I find that such a ........ job. People do your hair, makeup, dress you, tell you how to walk, pose. You’re like a puppet. I can’t imagine doing that. I can’t wait for the day when I’m allowed to do audits alone.

The Air Mail article caused a lot of commotion. Here’s a summery of what the nine women said about JL.

1. 16 – Met in a Caffé. Gave JL phone number after a quick conversation. JL invited her to a party, but she declined. JL calls her after midnight. Conversations turned sexual. He’d change his voice. That freaked her out.
2. 16/17 – Model. Met JL at an animal-rights benefit. Mom was there. She saw JL asked for her kid’s number. Did nothing. Thought knowing JL would be good for her kid’s modeling career. Model visited JL house. She applied to be his PA. JL would tease her and flirt with her. One day, he walked naked in front of her.
3. No age mentioned – Had on-and-off affair with JL. He’d switch from sweet to demeaning.
4. 20 – Met JL at a nightclub for peeps 18-20. JL sent his PA to ask for her number. They hooked up at the club. Hung out a few times at his house. She thinks JL’s weird and his kink didn’t feel right.
5. Had texting relationship with JL while underage. Did visit him. Visits could turn uncomfortable. At 18, JL’s sexual overtures escalated. One day, he started masturbating. He put her hand on him and said to spit on it.
6. 18 – Model. Invited by a party organizer to attend JL’s parties. Many women, very few guys. She claims she wasn’t the youngest.
7. No age mentioned – At parties, JL would stay in the shadows, was sober, meticulous and always in control.
8. 17 – DJ. JL tried to force himself on her backstage.
9. 18/19 – She thinks JL put on a show of really believing in her.

Seven women stayed anonymous. The age of two women is not mentioned. I assume they weren’t too young or underage. Three women were adults (18-20). The two women without age and the three adults (so five women) didn’t accuse JL of anything.

I spoke with nine of these women, who revealed a darker side to the 53-year-old actor.

Another woman I spoke to, a model and music producer, says she was 16 when, in 2006, Leto approached her at Urth Caffé in Los Angeles, then a popular destination for Hollywood agents and middle-school girls. The woman’s mother was outside waiting for a table. As the woman pushed through the crowd to go to the bathroom, Leto—seated nearby with Olsen, 19, whom he was rumored to be dating at the time—grabbed her arm.

“I looked down and it was Jared Leto,” the woman says. “We had a quick conversation, and he got my number.”

A few days later, Leto called her home in the middle of the night. “I don’t know if he was on drugs or what … It was the weirdest, grossest voice…. [But] for me, it’s Jared, you know?”

That night, Leto was hosting a party at his house in Los Angeles’s Laurel Canyon neighborhood organized by Brent Bolthouse, a nightlife promoter behind the then infamous Neon Carnival parties—lavish, invitation-only affairs held at the Desert International Horse Park, in Thermal, during Coachella.

Leto invited the woman, but she declined. “I didn’t even have a driver’s license,” she says.

Still, over the next three weeks, the calls kept coming. “Always at one, two, three A.M.,” she remembers. “And the conversations turned sexual.”

The woman says the experience left her shaken. She was in rehab at the time and discussed it with her counselor. “He changed—his voice, the way he talked. It scared me,” she says.
