JL won't make $750 million global.

Sad but true. Currently, it has made less than $650 million.

I am hoping though, they’ll still make a JL 2. Given that the last X-Men (Apocalypse), didn’t do so well, yet they’re making another one (Dark Phoenix), makes me a bit hopeful that they’ll still make JL2 despite the underperformance of JL. I’m also open to a total reboot or re-cast if necessary. I’m more tied to the JL universe comic book characters than to the actors who play them.

Holy crap. I thought they were done making X-Men movies. I just got excited. I enjoyed Apocalypse, not great but I still own it. =)

I was pissed with X3, that killed the Phoenix story for me.

OMG! I'm dying! =D yayyyy! I love her. Though part of me wishes to see Famke.

I agree. Sophie Turner looks great as Jean Grey, but I thought Famke did a good job too. I must admit I was a bit skeptical of seeing Famke as Jean Grey. Thought she looked too mature for the part and was not ‘ginger haired’ enough! LOL! I thought a younger Amy Adams or Nicole Kidman could have played a great Jean Grey, but Famke won me over.

X-Men, IMO, is just going to get stronger, particularly when Disney finalises its take-over of Fox that has the rights to X-Men, Deadpool, Wolverine and Fantastic Four. With this latest X-men movie, I do wonder how they’ll link the X-Men universe to the current MCU. They already have a bit of a problem with the character of Quicksilver who appeared in both X-Men and the Avengers, but the X-Men’s Quicksilver is more appealing. In the comics, Wanda (The Scarlet Witch) which is currently an Avenger member and Pietro (Quicksilver) are twin siblings who has Magneto as their father.

At the end of the day though, the fact that X-Men will continue gives me hope that maybe in the future future JL movies will be made with or without the current cast, rebooted or not. There had been a lot of other Batman failures and also Superman failures, but yet they made more movies with these characters so I don’t see why they won’t make any future JL movies. Heck, they’re making a Pacific Rim sequel (Hurray!), even if Pacific Rim (which I loved) didn’t do so well box office-wise, so they have to make another JL!

Matt Damon likes to talk out of both sides of his stupid mouth. His pall Ben Affleck does the same. He wants to keep WB happy, but he doesn't want to stab the knife into Zack Snyder's heart. He stabs it in his back. laughing

This is not a flattering remark. The disaster we all saw is not Joss's work. It's mostly Zack.

And though the studio hasn’t said anything official about Affleck’s future as Batman, the actor is confident that Justice League reflects the best ambitions of the DC Extended Universe. “This is a really nice time to work in DC. They’re hitting their stride. They’re getting it right. It’s starting to feel like it’s really working.”
Source

Is a bad time to work for DCEU, fool. And Joss's input made JL right and work?

“We got lucky, we had [Joss Whedon] come in who kind of worked off Zack’s template, and also added his own flavor and his own stuff to it, and I think made the movie better,” Affleck added.
Source

Joss made it better. So Zack's version sucked.

“I think they were very complementary,” says Affleck. “Zack’s so good with the mythic, gothic, heavy serious stuff, and Joss is so good with tone, and comedy, and making superheroes seem kind of real and relatable.”
Source

Joss brought realism to DCEU? DCEU was always about realism and making the super heroes relatable.

"Joss just brought to the movie what good directors bring, which is good taste. A sense of what's gonna work in the story and what isn't. An instinct for realism and for finding the humanity in the characters and the humanity in the conflict, then making it accessible and relevant. I think that's one of the things he did so well with Avengers, frankly. He really defined the tone, and it felt like a lot of the movies after that sort of fell into that tone that he created."

"It was a very tricky dance where you have all these people who can do all these fantastic things that's completely absurd on the face of it, and yet, a good storyteller like Joss brings us in, makes us identify with them, makes them seem real, and makes it interesting. A lot of guys know the comic books, a lot of people have that knowledge base. What Joss really has is talent."

I wonder what he thinks of Cavill’s own interview in the Rake where Cavill expressed his own displeasure of the direction his movies and character were going.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinematic/comments/79vghn/discussion_an_excerpt_of_an_interview_with_henry/

“Even if Marvel didn’t exist, we’d struggle,” Cavill admitted. “There was a style they were going for, an attempt to be different and look at things from a slightly different perspective, which hasn’t necessarily worked. Yes, it has made money but it has not been a critical success; it hasn’t given everyone that sensation which superheroes should give the viewer.”

https://batman-news.com/2017/10/31/henry-cavill-admits-zack-snyders-style-hasnt-worked/

“I feel like now the right mistakes have been made and they haven’t been pandered [to], and we can start telling the stories in the way they need to be told,” Cavill added. “It is even better to come back from a mistake or stylistic error into the correct vein because it will make it seem that much stronger. ..”

I get the hate you and your cohorts have against Ben and Matt, but I wonder why pile them on the Henry Cavill discussion board in a thread titled: ‘Who’s excited for JL?’

I get Ben starred in JL, so I see the connection, but Matt Damon?

Why not pile your hate on the Matt Damon and Ben Affleck boards on TMDB? I’m sure there will be a lot more people to add on to the hate to your heart’s content.

Thanks for summing it up. Ben's loyalty is to WB. This is the price for laissez faire. laughing Zack is the only one to blame.

I think if they are going to pile on Matt and Ben, then there is plenty to pile on HC, because he came out with some hateration.

Personally, I think Zach is a hack, so it's all good.

BA must be pissed. He hasn't recovered from Daredevil yet. Now he must recover from Ba*d*man too. joy

It depends on what you mean by ‘recovered’. After Daredevil, he had successes being a director for Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Argo. His movies The Accountant and Gone Girl both did well too.

Sure you can cite his other movies like Gigli, Live by Night as disasters, which they are, but there are successes mixed with those disasters in his filmography.

While there were a lot of people who didn’t Iike him as Batman, a lot of people liked him in that role. If he wants to move out of Batman then that’s fine and good. He might go back to directing and making other movies.

Batman is a bigger character than him and would endure even when BA decides to just retire in the future.

I personally think the guys have not fully burned bridges with Zack either.

Gal needs to remain friendly with Zack. It’s only decent for her to do so because as I recall the Snyders were the ones who picked her out among many other actresses to play Wonder Woman. I’m not also sure, but aren’t the Snyders still producing (ie the exec producers) for the Wonder Woman sequel and Aquaman? Will they also have input in the script? Zack was listed as one of the screenwriters for Wonder Woman.
