Wow! Isn’t it due out this year during the US summer blockbuster season? It has a lot of competition around the time (Deadpool 2, John Wick 3, the Star Wars Han Solo movie, several comic book hero movies, etc.). Given The Mummy didn’t do well despite Cruise’s presence last year, it would be interesting to see how this movie pans out.

Well, MI is an established franchise, so it should do well. I think the Mummy didn't do well because of the story and the long time between the 1st and 2nd movies.

Not interested in any of the following... Deadpool 2, John Wick 3, the Star Wars Han Solo . Mayyyyybe John Wick. I think MI6 will do well.

The audience for Deadpool 2, John Wick 3 and MI may be the same. All 3 movies are very much in the action oriented genre, although Deadpool is more in the comic book hero genre. John Wick 3 may have more in common with MI in terms of audience. It depends on the timing of these movies. The schedule seems pretty tight with one new blockbuster after another opening every week. Given how much ticket prices have gone, some people may just wait for the Blu-ray or DVD or stream for some movies, so some movies may be skipped.
Deadpool 2 and John Wick 3 are getting a lot of buzz. Just the marketing for Deadpool is remarkable and so different compared to other comic book hero genres. The success of the first Deadpool came about because even non-comic book hero fans went out to see it due to how well it was marketed. I know at work, some female office staff I know who absolutely have no interest in the comic book genre went out to see Deadpool because of how it was marketed. It would be interesting to see how its sequel would do...

Ok, I stand corrected. As it turns out John Wick 3 is coming out in May 2019. I thought it was this year! Deadpool 2 and the Han Solo movie are out in May this year, and Mission Impossible is out in July. I thought Deadpool was out in July too but I guess they moved it earlier.
The only big blockbuster movie coming out close to MI is Marvel’s Antman and the Wasp. I thought Aquaman was coming out in August 2018, but they moved the release date to December 2018 instead. So I think MI is relatively safe, but I don’t know all the big blockbuster releases this year. There’s been a recent trend that some small horror movies are doing way better than expected, so if any is scheduled around this summer they could be big too.
Man, I miss the guys and gals from the old Box Office board in IMDB. They’ll know more about this and would have good predictions for box office stats.

Looking at the schedule, the only competition is Teen Titans. Kids are going to want to go to the movies one more time before school starts.
The indie, Blindspotting, could be a sleeper much like SOC.
Other than that, I don't see too much competition for MI6.

I suppose that’s why they chose that time to avoid the competition, which they know they can’t beat or would take a hefty chunk of the crucial first few weeks of the movie’s box office revenue.

Okay, this is interesting and concerning, especially to HC.

For a moment there I thought it was Tommy Wiseau who was wearing the suit not Nicolas Cage. LOL! (Got confused because I saw Tommy’s name in the article then found out he was auditioning for the Joker.
The Teen Titan Go animated series is really more light-hearted, funny, aimed for kids, so maybe this is what they’re aiming for in the movies and why they want totally different actors from the current DCEU line-up. WB/DC so far has different actors for the same superheroes in their TV and movie line-up, so I think they’ll probably go for different actors if their movies call for it.

Apparently, Dany is hinting at something.

I'm curious, but I don't see the need for secrecy. Seriously, HC needs to keep the ball rolling. This "guess what gig I got next" is crazy. Who does that?
Anyway, I am curious. I think this has something to do with the reason he was in Milan. There was some type of shooting there. It was quick. It makes me think it's a cameo for Shazam, but they are filming in Toronto. Unless, HC is filming a solo scene and needs to be in Milan. Then again, the last time he was in filming in Italy, it was for MFU. I do know that Dany is an executive producer of Shazam, so it's possible to be Shazam for the win.

There had been a lot of rumours of Superman making a cameo in Shazam. However, if he’s in Milan could he be the ‘new’ face for some well-known Italian brand?
