TMZ is all over the place. They posted a clip of their show and flip-flopped.
In the end what is telling is that HC's IMDB has changed. Now, it no longer has JL2 on it.

Is it confirmed that that movie still going on tho? Given the underperforming box office im assuming they were putting it on hold for a long time or canceling it altogether.

There will be no standalone Superman or MOS sequel. I think WB has had enough of HC/Dany and that's why they demanded they take off the JL2 from HC's IMDB page .
Essentially, HC is not the brightest but he had stars in his eyes, and he thought Dany was going to take him to the promise land. She was on record saying he was going to be big in two years. Well, it's a little bit over two years, but I don't think HC was expecting this kind of exposure.
Anyway. . . here's my theory
HC was feeling slighted by seeing WB give everyone and their mamma a standalone movie and in Gal's case a sequel. He was sitting on the sidelines wondering when is it going to be my turn.
WB is thinking -- to themselves -- he had three opportunities and it wasn't working.
HC goes on record saying he has one more film on his contract.
WB doesn't care. They'll stick him in a cameo and be done w/him.
After hearing the only offer is a walk-on, HC gets steamed.
He neglects the fact that his latest movie was a flop and none of the other films were well received.
What he focused on is that he was accepted by an A-lister to star alongside of him in MI6. He thinks he's big time, and it's time for WB to give him what he wants. He is a star, and it's time they know it.
Now, he wants real money none of that Monopoly shyt, control of the script, and producing credit, thanks to the puppetry of Dany pulling the strings in his brain.
So, they both demand a meeting to renegotiate HC's contract.
I'm sure WB was smothering their laughter at the demands before they flat out told them hell to the no!
Door slams.
As HC turns to Dany, she consoles him and tells him not to worry. It's all a power play. WB will come back begging.
Time goes by and I'm sure there were calls touting how HC is highly sought after and that he has offers. Well, one which was the Witcher, but who has to know that minor detail?
More calls stating that HC will accept the offer, so now what are you going to do, WB?
That might have been one too many annoying calls, and that's when WB dropped the bomb to a staffer at THR that they are firing HC.
Dany is trying to stop the bleeding.
She tells HC. It is just a rumor -- not an official statement from WB.
That's why HC posted the weird IG video and said it was an exciting day. He was drinking the Koolaid and didn't want to believe the report from the very reliable source, THR.
He saw the news trending and thought okay exciting my name is trending. Dany knows best.
In the meantime, Dany must have demanded a statement from WB, and she posted on Twitter that there will be a message at the end of the day from WB.
Careful what you ask for. . .
... because that's when WB delivered the strong message that they have no intentions of a standalone Supes movie for years but that they'll keep in touch.
In the end, Dany was self-serving and had nothing to lose by asking for producing credit for MOS2. She really didn't give an F about HC's career. She wanted something for her husband, the opportunity to say he was Superman's trainer to put on his resume, and she wanted to produce a blockbuster w/o the Rock.

It seems as if the cast of Witcher is almost complete.

While the cast of Witcher is almost complete, WB just announced their cast for their nextDC movie Birds of Prey:

Quite interesting Margot Robbie gets producer credit. Suicide Squad wasn’t love much by the critics either but still made a lot of money given it didn’t get a chance to be shown in China.
I guess this is why HC and Dany asked for producer credit (if Margot gets it, why can’t he?)
It doesn’t seem like MOS2 is going to get any green light soon.

Margot puts out -- that's why. Plus, I'm thinking it was the way HC and Dany approached WB. It's usually not what you say but how you say it. However, with them, they were asking for a lot: money, script, and producing credit for both of them.
No, that is exactly what WB said. Supes is benched.

The trailer I saw made me think there was some promise for this film, but I guess the fact it took soooo long for this movie to find a distributor and find a release date was a signal something was “not right”. Did I read this correctly? His character is a British guy in Minnesota? (If so, could it be it’s because the director thought he wasn’t good in maintaining an American accent?)
Hopefully Witcher is better.
