Discuss Jodie Foster

For me they would have to be (in no particular order)

The Silence of the Lambs
Contact
The Brave One
Maverick

Her best acting performance:

Nell

Foster has even disavowed the flick.

What do you mean?

I know of no disavowing of FP but maybe some time later she backpedalled when..

American air stewardesses boycotted the film, because they claim they're shown in a bad light. What was your reaction to that?

"Well, everybody should say whatever they feel. It's nice to hear criticism about the movie; otherwise you don't know what you can do better in a movie. I think in a film like this, it's not really important; it's about nobody believing her. The people who don't believe her are human beings, whether they're stewardesses or not. It's also not a technical movie - I don't think it's the biggest problem in the world that stewardesses feel like they're being portrayed in a bad way."

...what is typical JF and comes across (for some) as lack of empathy. There were three groups representing thousands of flight attendants who called for a boycott. In fact the movie makes stewardesses (and air marshalls) look worse than islamic terrorists. It reminds a bit of JF's infamous 'kicking the wounded bird on the sidewalk' quote or (especially as a lesbian) making a movie that portraits the T in LGBTQ the way Silence did, crazy killers. It's cool how even JF runs into trouble with some of her special interest groups. She is a true master in two fields: disappointing peers and living a pretty boring live, making even die hard fans forget why the ever started to follow her.

Several years ago on a talk show ( don't remember which) she said Flightplan turned out terribly. She indicated it was one she was least proud of.

It was during a talk show several years ago. Her comments was regarding the overall film and not related to angered stewardesses. Although she may have at some point, her comments were on the overall production.
