For me they would have to be (in no particular order)
The Silence of the Lambs
Contact
The Brave One
Maverick
Her best acting performance:
Nell

Yes, I think that most people don't think Jodie can do comedy, since as far as I know that's not her usual style. I think that's why Maverick was such a pleasant surprise.

For me it's gotta be Contact. Not really sure why but I really love this movie and especially her role in it. It's also scenes like "They should've sent a poet" that choke me up every time (and yeah also being hypnotized by her beauty throughout the film).

Excellent choice. She looks gorgeous. Too bad no proper re-master. Talking about lesser known titles: O'Hara's Wife.

I'm actually not a fan of Taxi myself. I though it was an okay movie.

She reads all the technical terms as if astro physicist were her daytime job. Use headphones.

PS. I didnt want to hint/suggest Taxi is kind of bad. No, it's a very good movie. Like many of this great period of US film. She was damn lucky she took the role. Funny detail about that The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane board trivia.

I have to respectfully disagree with the OP on Nell - I found that film terrible, and her performance I thought was atrocious.
Otherwise, I love Jodie!

I enjoyed her performance in Maverick too, although I haven't seen it since it was released in 1994!

I remember when it came out it was widely considered kind of overambitious and ego-driven. Nell-speak certainly was a limiting factor for an actress like her --a non method player with a character like that, if you can't go on the set, just recite your lines and it works. Foster doesn't have a broad variety on offer for each degree of emotion. That's nothing bad at all. Recognition value is higher with a good handful of trademark expressions.
I think it was after The Accused from where I could tell in each following movie what she will do, look, express the very next second. I can only speak for myself, but that was the moment she became kind of predictable. Jodie Foster not only looked so good in Accused, I think she was at her peak acting-wise.
While in Silence I hardly saw anything new or evolved about her acting. The film itself sure was awesome at its time, saw it twice the release week. Later I realized they were damn lucky because if you look at Silence a certain way, not quite serious maybe, you notice it easily could have ended as some b-movie. (by todays standards it would be a good b-movie) I mean it really doesn't need much editing from some MAD magazine people to elaborate the funny/bad moments. I might have seen Silence 20, 30 times. Now I find the only real scary scene is the opening. Sound, set, everything hints something very dramatic might happen passing that very next tree. And then there's just a guy with a FBI cap...

@IrinaOma : I really liked Contact, especially because William Fincher's character was named Kent Clark!

@Irena: I've always wondered how many people who watched the movie got that in-joke.

@acontributor - Nice list, except I didn't feel the same way about Flightplan as you did. Foster has even disavowed the flick. Nim's Island wasn't a favorite of mine, but it was fun and different for her.
