Fabian van Dongen is an independent filmmaker from Eindhoven. Completely self-taught and autonomous, driven by passion, personal expression, and thirst for knowledge. Inspired by 'Independent Cinema' heroes like John Cassavetes, Abel Ferrara and Jim Jarmusch, Fabian also started working as a writer-director in a deeply personal way, and developed his distinctive style. Ultimately, this resulted in feature films such as "Travelers" (2011/Open Road Pictures), short films such as "The Camera" (2008/Erland Films), "The Wind" (2014/Erland Films), “Voyeur” (2017/Erland Films), and “Distance” (2021/Erland Films). His latest short film is called "The Truth" (2023/Erland Films). Also many musicvideo’s, commercials and documentaries. In addition to making films, other activities he is involved in are film workshops, film classes, film introductions, and organizing film evenings and quizzes. Fabian devotes his life wholeheartedly to the magic and power of cinema. Independent film and personal artfilms in particular are of great value to him and form the arena in which he works as a filmmaker.
