Did Camilla legally adopt Gio? Was a birth certificate for him manufactured for him or done legally? The whole SL seems shady to me. You can’t just take your daughter’s baby and hand him over to a cousin without going through a legal adoption process. Also it was very selfish of Camilla not to tell Gio before she died that he was adopted and his biological parents were still alive. I can’t feel sorry for Camilla, Lois or Gloria at this point.

To be fair, GH writers treat Michael as being Sonny’s father and Willow as being Wiley’s mother. I just think the situation with Gio is different.

Yes, it was legal. It was a closed adoption which means the mother was ordered not to know the adoptive family.

Yes, Camilla should have told, but that is the point- GH is treating adoption as if it's a secret shame, like Gio was born in 1925, not the early 2000s. It also irks me when they don't say abortion and say terminated, as if the fetus is a bug. Abortion is the legal and scientific term for the procedure. Stop w this Victorian 19th C nonsense.

Did they forge the birth certificate? I find it hard to believe that at some point Gio wouldn’t have needed to access his birth certificate. He would have seen the date of his birthday on it was different than what he was told unless they forged one. There are a lot of aspects of this SL that don’t make any sense.

maybe i missed something but why did they have to give Gio a new birth date? Why couldn't his birth certificate say the date that Brook Lynn gave birth to him? I"m sure Camila and his adoptive father were put on the certificate.

Brook knew Camilla and her hubby and if they suddenly had a son born on the same date she gave birth it wd be obvious what happened.

Why would they need to forge a birth certificate. Babies that are unadopted at birth and in foster homes have names like Baby X on the certificate and then a judge simply orders a new BC with the new first and family name and date. Closed adoptions were 99% of adoptions before 1980 or so.

That doesn’t negate the fact that even in a closed adoption the actual birth date would appear on the birth certificate, unless I am missing something. This SL was redacted and full of holes.

oh jeez, i didn't even think of this part of the story. So Camilla had to fake a pregnancy for 9 months to fool Brook Lynn and the whole family? maybe i missed that part. or she was on her singing tour so it was easy to get away with?

How many times to kids ask to see adoption certificates? If Gio thought he was a natural born child the thought wd never occur to him to ask.

I’m not talking about the adoption certificate, I’m talking about the birth certificate. Unless they forged it, the birth certificate would have the actual date of Gio’s birth. And of course he eventually would have needed to see the birth certificate- for a passport, drivers license, social security card. This is a giant loophole in the story, there’s no getting around it. Either Lois forged the birth certificate, or Gio would eventually see his real birth date on it. No getting around this, Cosmo!

Remember Willow needed her birth cirtificate to travel to Paris? I forgot who helped Harmony forge one?
