Was the scene with Dex in the morgue on Wednesday episode a flashback or new? Just want to know for episode counts. I don't recall but wanted to make sure

It was a flashback technically but of something we never saw before.

That wd technically make it a retcon. They were clearly hedging their bets as to who would b the killer.

Sounds like it was a newly constructed flashback.

The actors get paid for new scenes (obviously) and they also get paid for flashbacks of old scenes that are used in new episodes, so all of those appearances should be counted. You can always notate on your list if something was a flashback.

Also the actors get paid for voice-overs even if their face is not seen and anytime their photo is used without any new scenes shot...that is why we never see a portrait of Lila or Edward in the Quartermaine mansion, because the producers don't want to keep paying the estate of those deceased actors.

For what it's worth, they run the closing credits on Canadian television and the Hofer guy who plays Dex was listed this week.

He’s been listed every week since he died. Probably because of the flashback this week. I’ll be surprised if he is still credited next week.

On the Gh wall we HAVE seen Beradino and Piffy and Bobbi and Stu Damon etc so they do homage past stars and assume they pay those estates

i would assume that the actor could still be on contract but they killed him off before his contract expired? That could explain why his name is still there.

Yes, most likely those estates are receiving payment...but due to budget, that wall with those images is not shown all the time.

When Johnny Wactor was written out as Brando, he was credited for another two months afterward because they killed Brando off at the start of a contract cycle...in that case, I think that was a nice form of "severance pay."

But usually they do try to time the performer's on screen exit with the end of a contract cycle.

Sometimes there are exceptions. Wes Ramsey's contract ended and was not renewed, but they delayed Peter August's death...so Wes moved into the recurring section during his last month of appearances.

Over on Guiding Light, there was a period in 1999 when Saundra Santiago was written out as Carmen Santos...but executive producer Paul Rauch was in the process of replacing the head writer. So he quietly kept Santiago on contract, paying her for several months with no appearances, because the incoming head writer was devising a new storyline for her, and Rauch did not want Santiago to be grabbed by another show.

Did the PCPD ever find out that McBain killed Peter by throwing him down the stairs and Elizabeth helped cover it up? I think this was before she helped Nikolas keep Esme locked in the tower at Wyndemere.

He was Silas by that point. Elizabeth really should be in jail. lol

If I recall correctly, Peter died in Europe after fighting with Felicia. His last scene had him asking Anna for help, but she wouldn't lift a finger to summon paramedics, so he died on the scene.

Of course, they could always bring him back later, and say he miraculously survived...but we were led to believe he succumbed to life-threatening injuries because Anna decided he should die.

This occurred in February 2022. The sequence in which he was thrown down the stairs happened at GH the summer before (involving Liz and Finn), and Peter was presumed dead for awhile, before wreaking more havoc in the fall and winter months.

omg he was FINN! i said Silas. lol. oops

I haven't been watching every episode...have they said why Finn is still off screen? He left in late June last year. Wasn't his rehab supposed to only be for a few months...?

Are we to assume he found a job elsewhere and is not coming back to Port Charles? Or do they plan to bring him back?

I believe they said that he had taken a new position in Seattle so neither he nor Violet are returning at this time.
