Discuss General Hospital

I can’t stand to watch him anymore. He’s predatory, arrogant, manipulative, smug, and I don’t find him even remotely attractive. The writers have totally destroyed this character with bad writing, and the actor sucks. This Drewfus has nothing in common with the Drew Billy Miller played. That is all.

Poorly written, yeah Id have to agree. They could have done a much better job bringing about this character development. But I actually disagree about CM. I think he’s doing a really good job acting wise. It’s probably the thing that has really saved the storyline for me.

I don’t know of anyone who likes this relationship. There’s the “yuck” factor because not only is Drewfus sexually involved with his nephew’s wife, but he’s 20 years older than her. He is very controlling of her. They also had sex in the Q nursery- which is just messed up. Yes it’s true he’s not a psychopath killer like Cyrus or mob boss like Sonny- but he’s just gross.

I honestly felt bad for Drew in his conversation with Martin when he was talking about not feeling like he was ever really a member of the Q family. They pretty much all put conditions on their relationship with him. Like if he acted a certain way or served a certain purpose he could be a member of the family. That’s not a true family. Family shouldn’t be conditional.

Drewfus only became a Quartermaine by taking on the name when it served him politically when he ran for Congress. Prior to that, I didn’t see him trying to be part of the family. I don’t blame the Q’s for not wanting him around. I wouldn’t, either!

I really think a better actor would have made him less detestable. Ava and Valentin are liked in spite of the awful things they’ve done because the actors are so good and they make their characters complex and likable. Every time Cameron smirks or bugs his eyes out, I’m just annoyed.

Personally I love the new Drew “I do what I want” Quartermaine. How long did he just exist for everyone else? Sonny, Carly, Michael, Sam, etc. They all loved him when he was their errand boy. Hanging on their every word. Now he decides to do things for himself and they all hate him and think he’s scum. Im team Drew here.

Having an affair with his nephew’s wife goes far beyond doing things for himself. . He’s a selfish, smug prick who is manipulating and controlling Willow, and I hate this character.

Well I’m certainly not gonna throw him a parade lol. But comparatively is it any worse than anything else people have done in PC? I think what bugs me most about the storyline is how everyone is reacting. Like if people had maybe just a shred of self awareness or empathy I’d probably feel differently. But everyone is acting like their saints and Drew is this big bad evil villain.

Also, I don’t get where Tracey or Ned are coming from. Drew is just as much their family as Michael’s. Why choose sides?

As for Willow, I don’t think you’re giving her much credit. She’s an adult. She’s knows everything she is doing. If she didn’t want to have an affair with him she could have said no. If she didn’t want to use Michael’s medical proxy against Sonny/Carly she could have said no to that too. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t feel like he’s manipulating her into any of these situations.

I am hardly a Drew or Willow fan - in fact, I have detested Cameron Mathison's Drew and Willow - but I agree with all you have said here. I have actually been feeling sorry for the two of them because the reactions of others have been way over the top and hypocritical. They are consenting adults.

Going back to the thread title, would we really want to watch a death scene for Cam/Drew? I personally would not. I am sure it would be an excruciating exercise in "acting."

I'd rather they just send Drew off somewhere quietly and forget to mention him after that!

I don’t care how they get rid of the character as long as they get rid of him. Maybe have him die off camera, like Luke and others have.
