I watched the scenes from her last episode on YT last night. She didn't have many lines and was struggling to say one of the lines. She seemed so vulnerable. It was uncomfortable watching her that way, in a wheelchair, almost incapacitated. Reminded me of Anna Lee's last days on the show. It's obvious that Leslie was in declining health and probably after she got through those last scenes, she decided not to appear anymore.
There was an article online in October 2024, where she was seen out in public (a rare outing for her) using a walker, assisted by a nurse. I think she went to some restaurant in L.A. and an entertainment reporter bumped into her there. The article implied she was not doing well but just said she'd experienced several bad falls, it didn't clarify what her specific ailments were.
One thing I found patently ridiculous-- I don't put the blame on Leslie, but I put the blame on the show's writers-- is that they never had Monica retire from the hospital. They also didn't have Bobbie retire. They kept writing it as if these women were still working full time (mostly off screen), like they were going to be able to function in a highly taxing medical environment as doctors and nurses until they were 100. It was extremely realistic.
They should have had Monica retire and go off on a cruise And she could have died off screen at sea. But now what will they do, just have her die off screen in one of the bedrooms at the Quartermaine mansion? It will all be rather underwhelming. The character should have had a vibrant send off while Leslie was still able to perform it. My thoughts.

I agree about not having Monica retire. She was always away at medical conferences still this passed year if not upstairs in her room. Bobbie on the other hand I think it was fine that she was still considered working full time as I never thought she seemed to be in declining health.
What i'm still annoyed with is that Audrey is still considered alive. We really have to wait for Rachel Ames to pass for Audrey to pass? The writers did Audrey dirty.

I think the producers feel it would be disrespectful to Rachel Ames's fan base by killing Audrey off while the actress is still living. So if Rachel lives to 105, Audrey will also live to 105.

Thank you Justa! This is terrific. Iām about halfway through. The usual laughs, tears and gasps.
The show was SO much better in the 80ās and 90ās. Full cast in scenes, everyone interacted with all cast members, a true Soap.
