Hey, poison is quiet. Guns make noise and attract attention. I have to say, Cosmo, when I read the title of the post I thought it was about Julian and his baby mama Olivia. Two Olivias: A little confusing.

He could have used a gun with a silencer. Or overpowered her and strangled her. There are about a half-dozen better ways he could try to have killed her.

I expected him to stick out his tongue and kick the dirt on his way out. What a sophomoric attempted murder. I'm embarrassed for him.

It was interesting that she cried when she figured it out.

I thought he was going to bludgeon her with the champagne bottle. It was all pretty silly wasn't it? I agree with Unkabunka that the most interesting (and unexpected) aspect was her remorse.

Actually the scene got me a bit confused as to where Olivia lives. I thought she lived in an apartment behind the Chinese herb store? But when Julian walked out her door into that hallway it looked a little like the hallway outside where Darby was living. For a second I thought the Metro Court.. I'm confused lol

I thought the herb store was raided. Didn't Olivia mock Julian for getting followed and blowing the secret on her lair? Looks like she's holed up in some hotel, but it's not the Metro Court.

Why do you say gun silencers don't exist? They don't totally silence the sound, but they do suppress it. Julian would have had a better chance killing Olivia by shooting her and fleeing than trying to poison her dtink.

Movie silencers that render a gun completely silent so that you can walk up to somebody in a public place like a shopping mall and shoot someone and no one hears a sound are completely fictional.

The sound that guns make when they fire come from three sources:

Muzzle blast sonic boom the mechanical noise produced by the mechanisms in the gun when firing

Suppressors can only reduce the sound of the first two sources, and in most cases, only the first. And it can't reduce the sound by all that much, it certainly can't reduce the sound so much that it is possible someone without anyone nearby hearing anything.

In general, guns are extremely loud, so much so that gun enthusiasts always wear earphones when firing to protect their hearing. Firing a gun indoors without ear protection is pretty much guaranteed to produce at least temporary deafness (which is why all the scenes of Sonny pointing a gun at someone and threatening to kill him while indoors are a complete joke, firing his gun indoors without ear protection would have rendered Sonny permanently deaf decades ago) A suppressor can reduce the sound to a degree, but it will not render the gun completely silent and will still be loud enough to lead to deafness if fired indoors.
