Item: Season 2
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: Someone added a second season. Netflix uses the term "Parts" for this show, just like with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, so I guess it means it's Part 2 of Season 1. For what it's worth, Deadline, Entertainment Weekly, and Rolling Stone all call "Part 2" the second half of season one.

On netflix.com, it clearly shows "2 Seasons" on the show description page. Isn't the rule saying we stick on the original broadcaster's information?

The original broadcaster's information are the information displayed when you are connected to Netflix, not the information listed on the simplified presentation interface for not connected user.

everywhere else is labelling part 2 as season 2, I cannot find any other source than TMDB that lists part 2 as season 1.
as a "connected netflix user", it shows part 2 as a separate season on netflix as well

No, only as a separate "part".

Not only on Netflix is it declared as a second season.
I always used IMDB as a second reference and there it also shows me that season 1 has 5 episodes and season 2 has the next 5 episodes. In my opinion, the first season on TMDB should also be split into 2 seasons.

IMDB is not a reference for TV series. This is just a user edited site.
Furthermore, each site has its own set of rules.

For what it is worth, here's a snippet from Netflix API response. It clearly shows that each part is indeed considered a season, with "Part 1, 2, 3" being merely a season title. So whatever they display for logged/not logged users is just a UI representation. Technically, each part is a separate season.

And now Part 3 is marked as season 2 in TMDB. What is the logic behind this?

Was it broadcast on French television? It could be that Netflix presents the information like this, but the production was intending parts 1 and 2 to be a single season, but plans changed due to COVID etc. It's displayed in multiple ways on multiple sites, and even the talk page on Wikipedia has this same debate playing out.
I simply renamed my media to match the metadata here. This show will be a perma metadata chaos probably like a couple other shows are, life is messy sometimes. :)

The first article in this thread clearly said this show uses "part" instead of "season". And part 2 should belong to season 1. Now part 3 suddenly becomes its own season 2. Life is indeed messy and I guess we just ask for a little consistence here.
You are right that people can change the media or use the episode groups. Not a big deal if the collection is not big. But it's even better if we can correct the info. At the end, this is a place created with people's intelligence and that's what people should be doing here.

This article clearly indicate that the first season was split in 2 parts. Consequently, the 3rd part is the start of a new season.

Sorry I don't mean to keep debating on this. But why TMDb prefers "www.denofgeek.com" over most other sites, which say season 3? Logically, it's either season 1 with part 1, part 2, and part 3, or season 1 to 3. It is VERY strange to pick random site as the guideline while most of the other sites say otherwise. It looks to me that we are looking really hard, only to support "so I guess it means it's Part 2 of Season 1." in the first post.

This is just an example. Other links are available in the first message of this thread.
The important thing is that all of them call "Part 2" the second half of the first season. There can't be 3 halfs in a season. Consequently, part 3 is necessary the start of a new season.

None of the links mentioned in the first message are official, they are all from third-party news outlets. A hearsay. Can you show us the same information coming directly from Netflix, please? Where part 2 explicitly named "a second part | half of season 1". The fact that they initially ordered 10 episodes doesn't mean that they can't split them into two seasons upon release. After all, your own bible says "Keep in mind that the actual airing order might be different from the order originally planned by the network".
Or they can all be separate seasons, as they are treated by the Netflix system, the only official data source so far. The first episode of part 2, this episode, has official episode number "1", not "6" https://i.postimg.cc/k56CYgZG/Screenshot-2023-10-11-at-10-57-48.png
