Discuție The Equalizer

First Equalizer was a white Englishman

Second Equalizer was a black American man

Third Equalizer is a black American woman

What next? White English woman? That would give a certain symmetry.

Was "Red Shoe Diaries" somewhere else? I don't remember.

Showtime (1992-1997).

Oh yeah. I never actually saw it, just remember hearing that Denise "Tasha Yar" Crosby was... featured... in one episode.

Did you leave more than one response to my comment about RSD (about 20 minutes apart)?

Nope, but I've gotten more than one email notification about comments in the past. I'm not sure what causes it, and TMDB admins - last I checked, anyway - deny it can happen.

Weird.

Weird.

I assumed it was because someone posted a comment, and then edited it, and I got a notification for both. But the admins claim that doesn't happen either.

A few more:

Ghost Stories , a one season horror anthology, narrated by the irrerperisble Rip Torn

Roc: Not quite a comedy, not quite a drama, with Charles S. Dutton in one of his few leading roles. Critically acclaimed and ran for 2-3 seasons, yet seems to be overlooked today

South Central: Ran for one season on FOX, around the same time that Roc was on TV. This one couldn't quite figure out whether it wanted to be a comedy or drama. May have been one of the show's fatal flaws

American Girl: Decades before Fresh Off The Boat, Margaret Cho put forth a sitcom with mostly East Asian leads. I guess we just weren't ready for it

Street Justice: As his days as a Hollywood lead and supporting actor in big budget flicks drew to an end, Carl Weathers had himself a syndicated TV show that ran for a couple of seasons. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that an episode or five is up on YouTube

Longstreet: Remembered today almost exclusively thanks to Bruce Lee appearing in a few episodes

Philly: Kim Delany and Kyle Secor's first jobs, post-NYPD Blue and Homicide, respectively. Goes without saying, this one is nowhere near as well remembered as either of those two shows

Beastmaster: TV show based upon the movie of the same name, put together by the folks who gave us Hercules and Xena

Big Bad Beetle Borgs and The Masked Rider: Saban tried to replicate the success of Power Rangers as the 90s drew to a close. The two had a fan base, but it never rivaled the success of The Rangers

Sirens A US-Canadian collaboration on a cop show that predates Rookie Blue by a few decades. This one also beat NYPD Blue to the punch, with its glimpses of female nudity on network TV. Had the show stayed around longer, 'Blue may not have had the shock factor

It's Teal'c! He's the only one I recognize (except for Thomerson, I know his face but haven't seen any of his stuff).

I didn't even notice Teal'c at first. Sharp eye, brat!!! Insofar as Thomerson goes, I recommend starting off with Trancers

I noticed Teal'c because I was a huge Stargate fan. Also, thanks for the recommendation but Trancers isn't really my kind of movie.

A couple of more, that recently came to my attention, got me thinking of this thread once again

Legacy The theme is still more well remembered than the show

There should be a second season of "Legacy (1998-1999)" with the same theme song "The Mummers' Dance" by Loreena McKennitt.

And then the true identity of Marita would be revealed.

She went by different names. In the 19th century she was "Marita Peters", daughter of a former slave. In the 21st century she worked as a bartender under the name "Megan Morse".

J'onn J'onzz knew her as "Miss Martian", a Green Martian.

Who is she really?

She is M'gann M'orzz, a White Martian from the planet Mars.

A couple more:

Civil Wars: Mariel Hemingway and a couple of other no names starred as divorce lawyers. A couple of years before NYPD Blue, Bocchco got Hemingway naked on network TV

The Job: Marked the beginning of Dennis Leary's transition into acting, following his exposure as rampant borrower of other comedian's material. The show today is most remembered today not for it's own merits, but for the central role in played in this sparring match between Greg Giraldo and Dennis Leary

Class Of '96 Whoever can identify the future 90s icon in that scene gets a metaphorical pat on the back

Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). Watched a couple of episodes last night .

Dunno that Werewolf qualifies as a forgotten series, as it still has quite the cult following. There'a an argument to be made though that it paved the way for FOX giving The X-Files the green light a few years into the future

I don't remember it, although I see that the guy who plays Mac Scorpio (horrible character) on General Hospital was the star.

The entire season is up on YouTube, brat. Give the first couple of episodes a whirl, and share your thoughts. The series was Chuck Connors's final role, and also starred Lance Legault and in the latter half of the season a young Brian Thompson

Thanks, mech, but I'm not a fan of any of the actors or cheesy 80s TV shows.
