Bespreek The Equalizer

First Equalizer was a white Englishman

Second Equalizer was a black American man

Third Equalizer is a black American woman

What next? White English woman? That would give a certain symmetry.

Apparently it was "Time Under Fire." Not quite the story I remember, but I may have crossed up a couple different movies somehow.

I saw Machete - and have a digital recording in my collection too, along with the original Grindhouse stuff - but I'm thinking of something more sci-fi-ish, just can't figure out what it was from the titles on his list of credits.

But not "lawnmower man" which always struck me more as faaaaantasy (said derisively).

It seems like some kind of submarine was involved. Hopefully I'll figure it ou.

Time Under Fire?

That's what I got from a google search of "jeff fahey submarine movie" but maybe there's another that didn't show up, or something.

So that's not it?

Well that one has a submarine, but I was thinking of something that involved aliens or weird undersea life or something, somehow. Maybe the android-clones are what I'm thinking of, and they aren't "aliens." Or maybe I got it crossed up with another movie somehow, such as The Abyss.

Anyway it's not real important.

He has been in a bunch of Sci-Fi movies. Just google Jeff Fahey + Sci-fi movies?

Cleopatra 2525 was pretty cool, especially after the show it shared an hour with, Jack Of All Trades, was dropped and Cleopatra got the whole hour.

I think some full episodes exist on youtube.

Did anyone mention She Spies yet?

This is actually episode 2, but perhaps a better way to get an introduction to the series:

"Oh, no!"

A few others:

Danger Man- Patrick McGooghan anticipated the grittier spy films which served as counter to the James Bond flicks of the 60s with this one. The show also ended up servings forerunner to the much more famous and remembered The Prisoner

Lightning Force: Wings Hauser led some sort of spec ops team, in this micro budget Tom Clancy imitation for TV

Crossbow: For a brief period in the 90s, there was a syndicated series centered around William Tell

She Wolf Of London: A gender swapped version of AAWIL. On TV

I have a VHS movie version of this series. It is supposedly made from the first 4 episodes of the series. I must have watched it at one point because I pulled it out of the container when I read your post & it looks like I stopped it halfway through? It still has its plastic wrapping on it (just the bottom is open).

You would really rate C2525 over Jack Of All Trades, Knix? No one had mentioned She Spies, but I must say, that first few minutes of the video you linked is a primer for today's creators on how one puts forth empowered female characters. Without sacrificing the fun

Since you mentioned She Spies, I'm kicking myself in the head now for not mentioning VIP

I was aware of VIP, and I tried watching it a couple times, but I just... couldn't.

I don't value that as much as you apparently do.

Wow, Brat. You gotta admit though, this one did have a nifty theme song

I had to look it up because I didn't remember it, although I'm surprised because it's pretty weird!

Nothing that can be on broadcast network TV is going to impress me very much, especially if it's supposed to be about something approaching nekkididity. She Spies and Cleopatra 2525 were more interesting because in addition to scanty outfits they had more action and better stories.

Man, DailyMotion has REALLY gotten bad with the ads...

Might be slowed down a bit, I'm not sure.

Oh, and the image is reversed. Well, that's pretty typical for DM.

A bit cropped, too. Sigh.

Never saw it. But even basic cable could get away with a lot more than broadcast.

Best you ever saw on broadcast was something like Charlotte Ross on NYPD Blue. That was after 10pm, as I recall. And one short scene.

🤣

I have the original episodes from DVD, so that doesn't affect me, but it's unfortunate when the online resources mess with things like that.
