I don't play the original game, so there's no background information to base my guess on.

The reason Jayce shot Viktor is explained in episode 9.

Werewolf became follower of Viktor once he was healed, and all followers were disabled once Jayce shot him. (Werewolf is not exact, as he is not changing back to human.)
