Discuss Obi-Wan Kenobi

...Darth Vader is Anakin? I know he was in deep hiding but surely he had heard of Darth Vader by then. I mean, I guess its feasible if he really just heard absolutely no chatter about the empire but my initial reaction was that it did not seem believable.

He also reveals Leia as Luke's sister (Luke actually guesses it).

But to be fair Obi-Wan didn't know about that until after Yoda had told him in The Empire Strikes Back.

Obi-Wan was there when the children were delivered and named in episode III. https://youtu.be/BdTLh1ruaZY?t=79

I know - I said that further up on this thread - however that's in the non OT timeline canon prequels.

In The Empire Strikes Back Obi-Wan says "That boy was our last hope", only to be told by Yoda "No, there is another...". It cuts away after that but we can infer that this is the point at which Obi-Wan is informed. He then passes that information on to Luke in the third film.

Of course a mind wipe for Obi-Wan in this series could fix the continuity screw up between the two trilogies...

Loving the show. BUT: How does no one sense that Leia has force powers? Shouldn't it be quite strong but dormant?

Well, it could be a number of things. Maybe it slipped his mind about Leia being "a hope" but this doesn't explain why he seems to have no idea who Leia is (nor she, him) when he listens to the holo message stored in R2 in episode IV. A mind wipe wouldn't explain how he remembers being a Jedi. 😁

Yes, I suppose if someone is looking for someone who is force sensitive then you would be able to feel it but is anyone looking for that?

Well, I'm kind of hoping Yoda turns up and says something like "To know about both children, too dangerous it is, mmm.... Wipe mind Obi-Wan I must, forget you all about the girl".

That'll do it!

Going back to your OP as well, I meant to say - Obi-Wan does know that Anakin is Darth Vader. He sees Palpatine calling him that when reviewing security footage in ROTS. So instead we'd have to question whether he had 0% knowledge of the Empire and it's top dogs in the decade since he went into hiding on Tatooine.
