Henry seemed to be a real gem of the show ( despite a few anti-western world cracks out of him too).The way he could be complexly ditzy one minute and powerfully commanding the next was so rare.

The comic rapport between Radar and Henry was unique and never duplicated again especially once the show creators seemingly forgot even how to be funny aka humourous at all.

Interesting never dull details indeed about Henry like how he had a brother in prison ( his brother being the warden!) would never be in later eps about other characters and their family.( BJ boring from the get go. Potter was eventually totally tiresome with his changing family (and even just his wife) story back home ( though he had a half-interesting ep when he had a very late visit from his son-in-law who had also never been referred to before). Rizzo actually had very vague interest when he mentioned little Billy Bubba, his kid back in Louisiana. Hawk was better when he had a mom still alive in also early eps and was very nauseating and depressing and a plain and simple square about it later just being him and his dad.) Henry's wife was unevenly called Mildred at first and Lorraine later ( Lorraine Mildred Blake?). But that was, you see, super-easy to work around.

Hard to believe indeed that Alda was so contented with ultra-dull situations after all this early great stuff he had been a big part of.
