That was a good one and it is likely the result of sloppy editing. In the 1978 edition Stu was 30 and a veteran of 'the war'. Since that version took place in 1980 , that, at least makes sense time-wise. But as you point out, his age and being 'in the war' does not make a lot of sense for the 1990 version. Another related goof is when he made 35 cents an hour working for the town's truck stop when he was nine years-old. It might have made sense in 1959 but not for 1969.The 35 cents was in the 1978 book and was not corrected in the C&U version.

King makes a whole lot of gun goofs as well.

I wish I could. But I seem to have been blocked for some reason. IOW, I can't access the other site. Something about an insecure connection or something. I gather that the other site is going strong.
