Item: .hack
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: .hack//SIGN, .hack//ROOTS, .hack//Legend of the Twilight, .hack//Quantum, and .hack//Liminality are all SEPARATE series. Someone has combined them all under one series titled ".hack" but this is incorrect. They are not seasons of one series, they are all separate series.

We are familiar with the guidelines. However, we need actual proof if you believe that:

I was pointing out the relevant bits for this report. I didn't mean to claim you were unfamiliar.
They are three different series with different names, adapted from different sources, and all have different stories.

The mods here are so unreasonable, they are separate series, even tvdb (notably more difficult) said so, please split them, we want real libraries

That's like saying young sheldon and big bang theory should be grouped together, these are separate shows in the same universe, anidb is incorrect, i don't know why you're fighting something so obvious Each show even has it's own distinct name smh

Why are Bosch and Bosch Legacy separate entries? Fuller House? And Just Like That...?
As I said, that rule is not the one that should be followed. It says Sequels series (i.e. a direct continuation of the story). None of the series are that. They are more distinct than the examples I just gave which have separate entries.

It's really annoying they're ignoring this, we've provided indisputable evidence but they'd have to admit it was an error, and that doesn't seem to to be in their capabilities

So I wanted to jump in on this an let you know that the mods are correct in this case. It might seem weird but .hack the show ties in to .hack the games.
So you have .hack//SIGN which is a prequel to .hack//IMOQ, while IMOQ is happening .hack//Liminality is happening along side it. Those two lead into what is the second season of the show .hack//Legend of the Twilight which leads into .hack//Roots the prequel to .hack//GU finally ending with Returner the conclusion to GU.
They are literally direct continuations of the .hack story line. And that's only the shows and games. There are also books and manga that are also happening before, during, after to progress the story line of .hack.

No, they are not correct, they are not direct continuations. Again, by that logic all of the walking dead shows, or Naruto + shippuden would be. So why aren’t those updated?
These shows have their own individual names, have unique characters and twilight and roots are even ambiguously canon to the series and games due to many contradictions.
Again, these should be their own entires, your logic is nonsense

Please make individual series now we’ve provided the needed evidence

I'm sorry to tell you this but regardless of names, they literally are continuations in the time line. the .hack series is not the same as Naruto or The Walking Dead.
Twilight takes place 4 years after IMOQ. Just because it is ambiguously canon doesn't mean it isnt part of the timeline. The anime is an adaptation of the manga (which is canon). Twilight leads into the events that would create The World R:2 which lead into Roots, introducing the main character(s) of .hack//GU.
And yeah by this logic I do think that Naruto Shippuden should be considered part of Naruto. It's literally the second half and everyone treats it as such.

But even you admit it the rule isn’t applied properly, it’s nonsense. If Naruto and walking dead are not together, then neither should these You’ve not supplied anything to support keeping it this way. They are their own separate shows in the same universe

I've supplied the evidence for it being this way: The .hack timeline.
But to reiterate:
Each of the anime entries are continuations of the timeline from something prior. They are not a retelling, spin-offs, or alternate timelines of the same source material.
SIGN is a prequel to the games IMOQ, during IMOQ Liminality is happening. Legend happens 4 years after the events of IMOQ and Liminality. Roots is a continuation after events that happen post Legend, which introduces the characters that are in the GU games ending with the special Returner.
They are all on the same timeline, just because the story is continued in-between the seasons through other forms media does not mean they are not all continuations of the same timeline.
