Discuție Leaving Neverland

"Leaving Neverland" is not a documentary. A documentary is based on facts and evidence and it is four hours long. The film shows two men reporting alleged sexual abuse experiences. There is no new fact or evidence to prove abuse. In fact, "Leaving Neverland" provides a detailed description of the alleged abuses with the intention of colliding. In the absence of evidence, Dan Reed, a director with experience in films about sexual abuse, knew how to guide the narration of the two very well. But he forgot that Wade and James are terrible actors! Their narration is cold. There is no sign of sadness, anger, and shame. Quite the opposite. They show enthusiasm when talking about a man who allegedly molested them. The relatives of both have the same reaction! They even smile! Leaving Neverland omits much information. It's a film that tells the story on one side only. There is no testimony from anyone in Michael Jackson's family. Of course, Dan Reed did not want the narrative of the film to make people doubt whether Michael Jackson molested Wade or James. Dan Reed wants to make people believe that the King of Pop was a crazy sex predator. He omits, for example, that Wade and Michael Jackson's niece Brandi Jackson were boyfriends for eight years. And Michael Jackson was the couple's cupid. Brandi gave interviews and made bombastic revelations of Wade Robson and his family. Why did Dan Reed omit that Brandi started dating Wade when he was 12? Why would that be contradictory to what Wade said in the film. Wade says Michael Jackson prevented him from having relationships with women claiming they are unreliable. But Wade and Brandi were boyfriends and with the help of Michael! How to explain this? He omitted facts such as: The email that Wade Robson sent to Michael Jackson's estate begging to be choreographer of the MJ One Cirque Du Soleil show. Wade says Michael Jackson began to molest him from age seven, but Wade's mother, Joy Robson, reveals in an interview in 2011 that she, her daughter Chantal and Wade moved from Australia to the US when Wade had nine years old! But Wade said he had been abused at age seven? The link from this interview was shared by journalist John Ziegler on YouTube, but the next day, the video was deleted from there. Some fans downloaded the video and refilled it, but were deleted again. James Safechuck's mother, Stephanie, reports coldly that upon learning of Michael Jackson's death and even danced with joy because she knew "he would never molest another child again." Michael Jackson died June 25, 2009 and James Safechuck testified in a lawsuit filed against the singer who only "discovered" that he was abused by Michael in 2013! How to explain his mother's narration, who said he had danced with joy at the knowledge of Michael's death? How did she know in 2009 that her son had been molested if he said he only discovered being molested in 2013? Is she psychic? There are a number of contradictions, lies and omissions in this film that were discovered by loyal fans of Michael Jackson. "Leaving Neverland" had 45 minutes cut by Dan Reed, precisely, the controversial parts were cut. Europe watched the film 45 minutes less. Why cut if the movie is genuine? Because? Think! Use the brain! A hug to everyone.

Michael Jackson died June 25, 2009 and James Safechuck testified in a lawsuit filed against the singer who only "discovered" that he was abused by Michael in 2013! How to explain his mother's narration, who said he had danced with joy at the knowledge of Michael's death? How did she know in 2009 that her son had been molested if he said he only discovered being molested in 2013? Is she psychic?

If I followed the interviews correctly, James' mother said he confided in her--cryptically--that Michael wasn't a good man, or something to that effect. This led her to ask if he wanted to see a therapist and he begged her not to tell anyone. I believe in her interview she stated that she felt like she had f***ed up the first time, and thought the best way she could earn his trust now was by keeping his secret. One would have to presume this happened between the first time James had agreed to testify on Michael's behalf and the second time when he refused to testify on Michael's behalf. Of course Michael died after all that, so no psychic abilities required.

As far as the idea of "discovering" he was abused, I understood him to say that he initially didn't think of it as abuse since he didn't think it ultimately harmed him. This facade came crashing down when he was confronted with the innocence of his own son.

This is what I understood from watching the series.

It's all tittle-tattle, as unless there is actual physical evidence that a court case would convict on, neither side can be proved 'beyond reasonable doubt' to be right or wrong.

That's the vector this doc's 'story' lives within. It's unprovable either way, and it basically gives a platform to one side, without the other side having much, if any, chance of any comeback. And how could they come back? MJ is dead, and any physical evidence is long done.

It'a a dichotomy, but there we are.
